I like the presentation a lot.  The wibbly ghost is fun, the sound design is good, and the clockwork animations are also a nice touch.  I got stuck on the 4th board, though.  I figured out what seemed to be a pretty optimal set of rolls for *me*, but this seemed to result in the piece on the inner track also moving quickly and winning.  The opponent's movement appears to be deterministic, but it's not clear exactly *how* my rolls are affecting the opponent's pieces, which is a bit frustrating (EDIT: I'm an idiot, they just move the same amount as you).  But it's a neat idea overall.

Also, thanks for playing our game on stream!

Hey avery, thanks for the feedback! Sounds like I should've had ghost dialogue explaining the enemy movements, like you say, it's not super clear especially when each lane of the board has different lengths. And the last board is very hard, if you imagine a smooth difficulty curve then cut out the middle due to a lack of time, that's where we land, figured we'd leave one brutal level for those looking for it. Thanks again for playing!

That means my level caught you in my trap - that was the exact intention of this level. Well done me!
Have you tried it after you realized that enemy pieces move the same amount as you?

Clever take on the theme. I love the art, the vibe, and the whole presentation of the game. Excellent work!

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much Marc, I spent a lot more time on the art than usual, glad I had a team this time round otherwise we would have no game... Thanks to igor + saja!

Wow! So much polish and a very interesting concept! Can't believe you did everything (and 3D) in 48 hrs! I absolutely loved the ghosts, they look so cute! Did you use a shader for that? You outperformed yourself! Keep up the good work mate :)

Developer

Thanks! I made my own shader for the ghost and made all the 3D assets from scratch too. Glad you like the ghost cos he definitely took a while (and I’d planned for multiple ghosts, they’re even all made, just didn’t have time to make enough levels for them).

Submitted

Hm. Well, a nice idea and an interesting one to say the least. I also liked the art style.

Stay crunchy.

Developer

Thank you.

Really unique take as far as puzzle games go that I've seen this jam! The ghost shader was awesome looking, and the actual puzzles were really cool! Great job with this!

Developer

Thanks so much for playing micreps, nice watching you on stream. I put a lot of time into that ghost shader so I’m glad you liked it!

Submitted

I liked it a lot! Really fun game

Developer(+1)

Thanks for streaming!

Ayo, Don't sorry about that, It was a pleasure Playing it.

Very interesting game with a really nice aesthetic. I did feel like it was a bit too hard to win. Most of the time I felt like I had to just randomly try things until I got lucky enough to get the rolls I needed. But otherwise very nice!

Developer

Thanks! At what moments did you feel like you need to get lucky?

Submitted

Very neat game concept and presentation!

Developer

Thanks!

Great idea, perfect execution and presentation. Not much to add! (Except maybe that the dialog repeats when you restart. But it doesn't really matter.)

Developer(+1)

Thanks!

the dialog repeats when you restart

We knew, but didn't have time to fix it.

Have you completed the game?

Submitted(+1)

Yes! I enjoyed it a lot.

Developer

:)
How you'd find the last board?

Submitted(+1)

I don't understand the question. I assume you mean difficulty? It was pretty obvious from the start what you need to do but getting there was a challenge.

Submitted

Simply an amazing game, what can I say? Spent like 45 minutes playing, couldn't beat the last level. Amazing concept, awesome puzzles, superb execution.

Developer

Thanks for playing! It's cool the game could engage you so much. How many of those 45 minutes you think you spent on the last level?

Submitted

I think about 20-30 minutes

ok commenting now, will edit this later when i get a chance to play after work. this looks cool. i will follow my comment to play/rate/edit comment later.

I got till the 4th board. Wonderful entry lol. I found the 2nd and 3rd boards fairly simple, while the 1 st and 4th were harder lol. This game really does require you to think ahead quite a lot. I love how the indicators for the tiles on the board were self explantory ( the tile for additiona movement wasn't too self explantory, but you explained it well with the ghost anyway ). The presentation as a whole is fantastic and the atmosphere was great. Seriously good  mechanics here which lead to some cool puzzles. I guess my only real complaint is that you can sort of brute force things.

But frankly, that's just a nitpick at best. Superb job on this

Developer(+1)

4th board was supposed to be significantly harder, 1st wasn't though - did you have problems with with?

my only real complaint is that you can sort of brute force things

Mechanics are pretty "combinatorial" (chess-like) so it's hard to entirely get rid of this aspect, at least during the jam time limits.

Thanks for playing and the nice comment!

Submitted(+1)

honestly, yes lol. I did find the first one hard as well. Though take my opinion with a grain of salt because puzzle games aren't usually my thing XD

Submitted

Nice original mechanic with super slick presentation there :)

Possibly I could have done without the text on my third (!) play through of the first level; especially as it was about then that I realised what it wasn’t telling me- which was that I was in control of all the pieces :P

That said, I had fun :D

Developer (1 edit) (+1)

Yea that's one problem I was very aware of, but didn't have time to fix. A sad state of affairs, but you can at least skip through it quickly. Thanks for playing!

It being the core mechanic since the very beginning, we kind of forgot to even mention it. I was personally advocating to not explain any gameplay at all:) I think everything is figureoutable in this game. Controlling all pieces is probably the most unexpected thing and (it seems) everyone still got it.

Glad you enjoyed it :D

Super amazing game! Loved the main gimmick and difficulty right up until the end where you had me a stumped for a while. The only small bit of criticism I have for this game is that it doesn't have a menu (that I could find), but that's not too big of a deal seeing as this is such an amazing game!

Developer(+1)

Thanks for your nice comment! Menu was such a low-priority with so many other things we had to cut. The last board is supposed to be harder. Have you completed it?

Submitted(+1)

I got very close, but unfortunately had to cut it short without completing it.

Submitted

This game is pretty cool and I love the pun with the title.

Developer

haha thanks I'm glad the name came together so well (especially since it was conceived in the final 15 mins of the jam =P)

Submitted

Amazing Game, And YES I WON IT

Developer

Thanks ðŸ˜Š and congrats on the win!

Submitted

Really cool idea for a puzzle game! Took me a while to get the solution to the final level but it was satisfying to beat it in the end. Super solid mechanics and atmosphere, and loads of potential for a fully fledged project!

Developer(+1)

I am sure there had to be at least one challenging level, at least in the end. I am pleased you found it satisfying to beat. Thanks for playing!

We had to cut a lot of stuff (levels, other ghosts) to finish in time.

Submitted

Great game! In the beginning I didn’t understand that the dice was also controlling the other pieces, but once figured that out it felt like a good puzzle game.

Developer

It being the core mechanic, we kind of forgot to even mention it. Although I was personally for not explaining any gameplay at all, as I think this game is quite figureoutable (and then again - jam time limit).

Thanks for playing and I'm glad you liked it!

Amazing Game, one of the two best I've played so far!

Developer

Thanks! Which game is another one in your top-2?

Submitted

It was DIEmunition. And now the third one is - DieTetris. You guys are amazing!!

WOW! I love the art style, the ghost, the really great implementation of the theme, And making a puzzle game that made me think over 3 steps ahead! Amazing! although that last board was a bit of a nighmare lol.

Developer

Glad you liked it!

made me think over 3 steps ahead

Are you about the last board here?

yes lol

Developer

I am a bit confused then - you said:

made me think over 3 steps ahead! Amazing!

but also:

although that last board was a bit of a nighmare lol.
(+1)

I meant that like it was hard lol
