Nice job! I'm surprised that you had enough time to add multiplayer. I think that a tutorial would have been helpful, since the mechanics were a bit confusing.

Thanks for submitting your game to the stream, here's the interview;

It's crazy that you put in multiplayer in such a short time! That being said, the attack hitboxes for the reapers never seemed to work for me. But still a really interesting concept!

Developer

It's probably working but you might not be rolling in the right range. Wish we would have had a tutorial or something to explain how to play. After the jam we'll have an updated version go out and it has a hit/miss text that flies off the enemies.

Submitted(+1)

Oh okay! I'll try again sometime soon!

Submitted(+1)

This is an amazing game! Especially since you added multiplayer in such a short time. The art looks great and the gameplay is fun and challenging!

Submitted(+1)

This was was pretty fun! Although short it was a nice concept and the fact you got multiplayer up is amazing. The art + music really complimented the game well

Developer

Thanks, wish we had time to add a boss but I'm quite happy with how it turned out.

Submitted(+1)

the visuals, sounds, music and effects did a fantastic job selling the games admosphere. The movement felt a bit slippery but otherwise very polished, excellent game!

Submitted(+2)

Eveerything is sooo well done!! I'm amazed! Great job!

The game is very polished, very good mechanics, thats possible to be done in 48 hours, but then I saw multiplayer features. Like… dude, thats weird. Than I started playing and it really felt like the dices were just added on top of an already finished project, because the dice mechanic didn’t quite feel polished, I can just span roll each attack.

I’m not saying you had a finished project before the jam started and just slapped dices somewhere, but if you did that would be kinda unfair to people who made their games in 48 hours.

Btw, theres some files with very suspicious dates.

Anyway, very cool game, I really enjoyed it, hope it grows, I would love to play this online with someone! Congrats!

Developer

Uhhh okay man, I have the git history to prove it but sure

Submitted (1 edit) (+1)

Please don’t get defensive, you have to agree that its a hell of a feat to get a multiplayer polished game done in 48h while most people struggle with the basic logic for the theme. Also, I stated that I’m not saying you started development before the jam, I just said its sus as heck. You can’t deny its sus.

(also I can add old files to a git repo and commit today)

Developer

I mean I don't think I got that defensive just saying I've got git history to prove that we worked on it during the jam but if you are really curious and not actually just being a jerk about this: Look at all the other games I make for all the other jams I've been in. Most of them have had multiplayer of some kind built into them. And I've been doing this a long time. I am basically only interested in making multiplayer games and I want to get good at that so I focus on doing that even during jams that have very minimal timelines, it proves that I'm getting better. I can guarantee you that I did not have a preexisting game that I just dropped dice into. If you don't want to believe it that is fine. My team's growing and we are all getting better at stuff. I think I'm finally at a point where my multiplayer network code doesn't suck and it doesn't take me a ton of tries to get stuff to work correctly. As for the files you think are sus, those are just build files Unity puts into your builds, the creation date would be the same for many other Unity projects using the same version as me. I'm not here to cheat, I don't know what to tell you. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Then you can take all my suspiciousness as an ultra super compliment. Because I am trully amazed by how fast you manage to make multiplayer games, very polished and pretty looking. Really, kudos for that, it’s super freaking cool that you managed all that in 48 hours.

Submitted(+2)

Great concept and the game feels really smooth gameplay wise, nice feature making it multiplayer aswell

Submitted(+2)

It's a cool idea and i like the art style and general vibe!

Mouse wheel wasn't working for changing dice so I use the Q&E keys : maybe it would be easier with the numbered keys to quickly go to the dice you want?

But nice job to you, the game is fun!

Developer

We actually didn't add the mouse wheel stuff until we got feedback on it so we won't be able to update until the jam is over on that. Number keys is a good idea too.

Fairly well put together, I like the art style and the sound effects and movement really bring the whole theme to life. The game mechanics involving the dice themselves were intriguing, though I found myself wishing for a more ranged attack!  Overall, really great effort and I loved playing. Nice job and good luck.

I would really appreciate you all taking the time to check out my submission, I think you all will enjoy it!

The idea with dice switching feels really fresh and unique - Great job!

Visual part of the game is on the highest level - Wow! it is amazing that you managed to do this in 48 hours!

Developer(+1)

3 artists haha, 1 doing character art, 1 doing level design, and the last polishing it all up and then a final polish pass by a fourth team member.

Submitted(+2)

Awesome little game, I really like the idea of switching out which dice you gotta use to take out the specific enemies. Good job! -Kaylee

Developer(+1)

Yeah it would have been cool to show a different weapon for each, to really take it a step further but we were on a crunch.

Submitted(+2)

This is amazing! One of the best Games I played so far of this Jam... It took me some time to find out how to play but after that I really enjoyed it! Good Job!

Developer

Thanks you so much! We really appreciate your kind words and support! We've been working on updates based on everyone's feedback and will be publishing an updated version, which should make the gameplay more clear, once the jam is over.

Looks cute and quirky, and I liked the smooth movement of the reaper. But I did not understand the combat system. Introducing its mechanics or a short explanation would have been quite helpful.

Developer(+1)

Yup sorry, wish we had put even a screen in explaining the combat system. You just have to roll in the range of the enemy to hit it. It's best to use a dice that narrows that range better for better chance of success. Like if it's (1,2) your best bet is a d4 as you have a 50% chance of getting it, whereas if you use a d20 you'd have a 10% chance.

(+2)

I really liked the look of your game and the movement was nice and smooth. The mini map was a great feature as well.

Developer

Thank you! We like to focus on making it fun to live in and move around in the spaces we create, so we're glad to hear that had a good feel to it!

I cant really rate because the game doesn't run smooth on my computer, if you lose frames in the browser version let me know and I'll download the windows version and give it another shot, and also I find the cubes really confusing I am not sure what the relation of them to attacking. and there are also a lot of them so its really confusing

Developer

The Windows version should run much better if you're having issues with the browser. Thanks for checking our game out <3

Submitted(+1)

no my pc is garbage, still don't get the cubes if the numbers over the enemies heads is the numbers you need the cubesto land on, the enemies should move a lot slower, you need to explain it better.

Developer

Sorry for the problems, but thank you for taking the time to play. Doing these jams has really helped us improve, so we appreciate your constructive feedback.
