Thank you :D
Actually the elevator animation just looks wrong due to the speed, it is really weird… And I really hadn’t thought about the problem of taking an elevator while the building is burning.
Thanks for playing and thank you for your feedback :D
I actually felt like the elevator was kind of slow regarding gameplay, but almost too fast to see the scrolling background and stuff like that. Accelerating it really fast between floors and slowing it down towards the ends of the floor would actually be a great way to fix that!
Yeah, I focused mostly on the art and neglected pretty much the rest… There is not really a reason that the 31st floor is the top floor with nothing in between, when I started making the game I made so many floors and then just had nothing to fill them with and didn’t bother moving the floor further down.
The visuals are great, sound effects and gameplay are really cool too. What maybe bothered me a little bit was that the parallax effect was pixel aligned. It might look worse if it weren’t, I am not sure about that, but the way it is it shifts around a lot, which looks a bit weird, but maybe there is no better way to do that or I’m just not used to it. Regardless, it still looked awesome and was a nice experience! :)
I played this game for like half an hour, I really enjoyed it. Really fun implementation of the theme, really well executed.
Unfortunately I didn’t actually finished the game because I got soft locked twice. I think once because I died and killed the last enemy at the same time. And then again because I think I killed all enemies while they were still spawning in, so maybe the game saw I beat the floor but also wanted to spawn new enemies (that’s at least my wild guess).
Regardless it was still a really fun experience. I didn’t even care about beating the final boss, I mostly just upgraded the reach to spread over the whole screen, then upgraded damage and speed, so that I could just one hit everything instantly!
:D
Great game! I really love the simple counting concept mixed with the upgrades. I found it to be quite difficulty though (maybe I’m just bad). I would find it helpful to see how much difference there was between the timer and the button press. Like if I just know that I lost I might think that I pressed it too early and will wait longer next run, while in reality I was already pressing too late.
Regardless, I enjoyed playing it, it looks and feels really nice!
I enjoyed the game. The cart works fairly well, when you try to drag it instead of pushing it. But pushing it / getting pushed is fun too. Although the first time I was pushed into all the shelves which threw them all over and made the game a little bit laggy! :D
Regardless I enjoyed it. Nice concept, great execution!
I really like the concept and really enjoyed playing it. I think it would be cool if you would maybe memorize the newly found potions forever (also for new runs) and always seeing the player health would make it a bit easier too. But I guess like this it is more of a challenge! :D I enjoyed playing this!
I spent most of the time working on the art, so I unfortunately didn’t have a lot of time to add secrets or additional puzzles.
You can use the cat food on the top floor to feed the cat after which some heart particles will appear (you only need one cat food for that, the other is useless).
Also it is intentional that you can’t open the doors while the elevator moving, but there is a bug which allows you to do that regardless. Basically you close the doors and select a floor, and as soon as the elevator reaches that floor you select another floor. This way the elevator starts opening the doors, but also moves towards the other floor.
Thank you for playing! :D
Great concept, easy to understand and fun to play!
I wonder whether the movement would feel more intuitive if it was aligned with the grid instead of the screen. And in my opinion the game was a bit too fast, I mean the movement is very fast, death and restart is very fast. That might just be a me thing though.
Those are just some of my opinions, still good job! Also the sound effects are nice!
