Congrats on finishing your game.

I'm not entirely sure how the combat is resolved. It was unclear what effect each die face had on combat. Sometimes a mushroom would take out a water in 1 hit, sometimes it felt like more? And do the heart dice effect the element dice? What do those do? I was very confused.

Also, having elements with no interaction (fire/mushroom, water/tree) felt kinda weird. There were a lot of rolls where I couldn't do anything meaningful with my rolls. Having some way for players to pull off moves that feel good might make the game feel more smooth overall. But that's just my opinion, and I'm not sure I understood the game correctly in the first place.

What I really appreciated about your game was the very clear messaging about what to do next. That's something I didn't do well in my game. You made it very clear that a player should roll or assign or do something specific by replacing the roll button with text or another option. Well done.

Overall, cool design and I'm happy you were able to create something like this in 48 hours. Keep making games!

Hey,

As stated as the second sentence of the description. Each fight is 1 elemental dice + 1 heart dice representing the hp, the damage depends on the element each dice have.
I added more information about the dice in the description, hoping for people to read a bit more about the game when they're lost.

It follows the basic mechanism of a lot of games, elements have good/bad/normal matchup dealing damage depending on that (like in pokemon for the well-known one).

And same about the hearts, it follows the basic mechanism of the heart representing the life of the unit/player. And after each hit, you see hearts being removed from the dice, and well they are all removed, you lose that elemental dice and it goes to the next if there's one.  And that's why at the end of each turn, there's the message "the remaining hearts" ^^.

That's always interesting to see players with different habits not understand some part of your game that is totally clear for the others (that's the first time someone mentioned they didn't understand the heart mechanism, either friends/players here/streamers). And that's why a large pool of playtesters is important :D.

I hope with that new information you give another chance to the game and you'll appréciate it ^^.

Thanks for the comment!

A cool little strategy game. The theme was perfectly executed. From the music to the art, this is absolutely a well-polished game. And I like the in-game guide/tutorial it really helps us play the game. Great job!

Thanks for the comment, I'm happy you liked the game!

I master the roll of the dice!

Someone finished the game :D!

I enjoyed the game! I like the tactical nature of choosing where to apply your dice, it's a nice implementation of the randomness. Not sure why a mushroom beats water and a tree beats mushrooms, but that doesn't really matter in the long run.

Definitely something that has potential to be expanded on!

Developer

Because you know, tree gangs beat up theses mushrooms! And when it's wet, mushroom like that and they live!

Or if I'm honest, I wanted it to be a rock at first but finally found the shroom things funny haha.

Quite nice dice game. enjjoyable and relaxing.

Developer

Thanks, I wanted a small and relaxing experience yeah!

This is a great, well polished strategy game, with nice art and good mechanics.

Awesome Job!

I enjoyed this, fun little strategy game with good polish!

Thanks, I'm happy it looks polished enough, there are so many things I wanted to add haha.

Really unique idea! Presentation, music, and ui are pretty good, too!

Developer

Thanks, I'm really happy it feels like a creative idea!

Interesting game I like how the tutorial is very well explained inside the game

Developer(+1)

I tried to make the tutorial short but descriptive enough. I guess it's still missing some part/explanation, but it's so hard to know what to explain when you don't have a lot of playtester that didn't follow the creative process haha.

I think I got lucky with my perfect rolls! The game has some really nice scope, I hope you take it further!

Developer

Thanks for playing it on stream, I learned a lot about what to improve for visual clarification!

Among the others games on the same theme, this become my favorite. Nicely picked music and sfx.

Developer

Thank you, that means a lot :)

I was a bit overwhelmed at first but you made it very easy to understand so I got into it very quickly! I wasn't sure what was difference between the Dice 4D and 6D etc. but it didn't impact the gameplay in any way. Super creative and really fun! This could be expanded on greatly. Multiplayer would be really fun I think!

Developer

At first I wanted to show each dice unfolded every time, but well, the scope was too big :D.

I just added a deck list (that is not well placed sadly), at the bottom left!

Happy to know you liked it :)

Very creative and unique concept, haven't seen a game like this before! Everything in this game just feels so "connected" if you know what I mean. I love how simple this game is, there isn't even a menu screen, and I can just start playing when I click the play button on itch.io. I feel like a bit of post-processing like bloom and chromatic aberration would be a nice addition!

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the comment!

I didn't think of the post-processing effects and you're right, it wouldn't take too much time to add!

This is a really creative take on the theme! I love how you can pick up the dice and sort them out on one table, then move them to select them! I feel like this game has heaps of little details like that which really add to the experience! Amazing work :))

Thanks for the comment!

I'm really happy that most of the people get the concept/game and like it, I was really afraid it wouldn't be the case. Thanks again!

Great game! Lots of fun trying to play with what you have, either maximizing damage, or if you're unlucky, minimize damage taken. Cool mechanics, solid concept. I would've liked a bit more explanation of the dice adding mechanics, and also I would've liked to be able to swap around the dice after they are placed in the board. Overall great work! Also, I would really appreciate if you could check out my game, I saw your post on another game, and you gave great feedback. Thanks!

Developer

The swap around dice is a bug that appear sometimes (no idea how to reproduce at 100%) sadly. :(

Thanks for playing and your feedbacks :).

It's a fun exercise to optimise damage, but I do think it drags a bit once you figure it out.

Developer

I agree, the base game is there, but it's not depth enough. I wanted to add different enemies, different type of dice (like "rules dice", that, for exemple, add rule to that specific column).

But well, 48 hours is a short amount of time :D

Submitted

Hey i've checked your game out! It took me a little while to know what was happening, then i saw the  (defenitely not inspired pokemon) chart of super effective damage. I really liked that one. and then i easily figured out what to do.

Very fun game! Polished quite a bit!

Great entry, great job. really liked it!

Took a little while to get, but pretty neat after that!

Developer

Yeah, I wanted to add a bit more of a tutorial to make it easier to start with, but well, who knew 50 hours is a bit short for a game? haha :D

Cool and smart game! I really like the audio design too. :D

Thanks for the comment :)

Petition to add the Mushroom type to Pokemon.

Developer

Haha, I agree!
