This is a really unique little puzzle game! I find it quite difficult - especially to tell when a chain is going to be successful before detonating, but I think its really charming

One of my favorite games of the jam so far!

Developer

Thank you!!

It is very satisfying to look at the correct chain of explosions. The setting is a little out of my taste, but I rated it objectively, without relying on personal tastes.

Great job!

Developer

Thank you for the feedback and thank you even more for being fair! <3 Glad you got satisfaction about watching the explosive chain reactions unfold! :D

Really liked playing this puzzle made me think quite a lot about my path of destruction! Was satisfying to destroy all the blocks :)

Big think of kababoom! Yes!!

Really nice game with a really cool concept, I have never seen a puzzle game like this. Also the art is really cool, I love pig man! Overall really cool, good job!

Developer

<3 pig man

thank you so much!

Submitted

Oh I meant to say "I love the pig, man" lol

Love the concept and the art! Very creative mechanics and it was really satisfying to get a chain reaction to go off. The random dice rolls did make some parts difficult if I got unlucky, but overall great presentation and visuals! :)

Developer

Yeah there's definitely quite some random luck to this. I just hope that the game feels satisfying enough to not be too discouraging if bad luck sometimes prevents beating a level. Thank you for your comment!

I love the feel of this game! The art and sounds make it nice to play, and the main mechanic was very creative. I think a smaller board or toning down of the rng could have made for some even more compelling puzzles as it would give the player more control with their choices, but still a great job <3

Developer

Thank you! Glad you like my art&sound. Smaller board kinda makes it necessary to have fewer rolls which does lead to more randomness overall since you've got a smaller sample size of rolls and it can't even out as much. We are already doing some controlled, rule based randomness but I guess it could be possible to allow more control with some sort of weighting mechanic perhaps...

Cool game and unique idea! Very nice art as well. The puzzles were tricky but challenging. Maybe the earlier levels should feature a smaller gameboard so that it doesn't take as long to learn the mechanics fully? Nice work!

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much! I agree, that would've been a cool move on our part to make earlier levels a bit quicker

This was a very fun and polished game! The art style was very good, the sound effects were great, the explosion chains were very satisfying, and the different block types were all unique. It took me a little bit to get all the way through the game, but I had fun. Good job!

Developer

Thank you! Yeah the game turned out a bit longer than we first anticipated but I'm glad you made it through! Good job :)

I liked the puzzle aspect and this can be improved on after the game jam. The art style was cute as well. this has at least potential as a casual puzzle game with explosions and cute pigs.

Stay crunchy.

Developer

Thanks for your comment! How would you personally improve upon this, first and foremost?

Submitted

Hard as I am absolutely not good witz puzzle-mechanics design. Everything is now just guesswork: I would probably build in some mild form of failure at the very early levels followed by much harder failure options later on. After the jam I would ditch the placement randomness and would offer "puzzle pieces" for creating explosion lines and eventually some special explosions but I just saw potential not that I would be good at designing a good puzzler ^^

But from what I've learned is that you get help when you ask for help. Join a developement community and connect with people, maybe find a (beginner) game designer that likes puzzle games.

Stay on the developement path and enjoy your time :) The only real tip I can give you: Make what you like, not what others may like.

Stay crunchy.

The game feel on this one is really spot on, backed up by sound great sound design, and ugh god bless such a cute piggy. I really liked the first level being such a satisfying tutorial to the concept. Really nice!

Developer

Thank you so much! Happy you mention the sound design - I spent almost a full day on that :)

I keep playing the game to see the happy wiggly piggy. Always makes me smile!

Awwww  <3

A super interesting concept! I had to gave up at level 7 because it became tedious and the purple arrows are kind of unclear what they do. It felt unfair that I only get one remote explosion when I can't even predict what the purple tiles will do once they explode.

Very very fun and satisfying. Presentation is also top notch. Well done!

Developer(+1)

The lightning globes destroy the nearest dice (the number of dots on the lightning icon show how many globes will be spawned).

A good strategy is usually to use lightnings for "clean up" and not as an integral part somewhere in the middle of your chain reaction, cause you're right, they're very difficult to plan around. :)

Thanks a lot for playing. You made it quite far and saw pretty much all the content there was to see. :)

Really great art! Great job!

Hats off to  Groovy Mustard To Keep and Good Monkey Tries Kissing !! This is one of the best games I've played so far on the jam. Let the Oink out! is both clever and charming with its mechanic and makes you feel engaged with the gameplay in a wholesome way that will keep making you come back to play. I completed the game I was left wanting for more levels. Kudos to  Groovy Mustard To Keep and Good Monkey Tries Kissing for making such high quality and entertaining game in such low timespan.

Developer(+1)

Wow thanks so much, I don't know what to do with all this praise :D I'm really glad you liked our little game though <3

It is INSANELY satisfying setting up these chain reactions and watching things explode! This is such a cool game! And the pigs are cute too. Well done!

Developer(+1)

Thank you! Satisfying is definitely something we were going for in ideation!

Submitted(+2)

This game was super polished and cute! The pig was so cute it really heightened my motivation to play the game :D It was a really unique take on the game jam theme.

Developer(+1)
