Rollercoaster gang rise up!

Funnily enough, my first idea was also something about not going too fast on a rollercoaster. I wanted my passengers to fall out, but the player able to catch them again. But I couldn't get the physics to work right, so I just gave the player a shotgun to shoot the rollercoaster 🔫. I guess your take has a similar issue, the physics just feel so janky that it is hard to judge why/when you fail. But it was still fun! Proof that this idea has potential.

It's curious how so few submissions went for a rollercoaster theme, I thought it was obvious. 🤷

Graphic and sound effects are top notch. The gameplay is very nice too. I'd have preferred more, but shorter and simpler levels. First level took me more than 10 attempts already, I gave up on the second after a while.

Great game, well done!

I died because I split "moreover" into "more" and "over" 😢Great and simple word game! Hopefully you get bought by the New York Times for a million dollars to get added to their word game collection.

Wow! It took me a while to understand the game, but once I did I was invested! The gameplay is really solid, just needs some more juice and cleaner explanations or a tutorial, and some long term motivation. Very good for a game jam!

Interesting game! I like the idea of "overspending" on the upgrade screen and how the game judges you for it. Unfortunately, I still don't quite understand how to play the game :( The tutorial says "Let bit go - no hurt" but I think I do need to catch the bits? When do I lose HP? The game needs to make those things more clear. And there were some technical issues, like dragging the game window instead the lens, and one time on the upgrade screen the game bought all the upgrades for me? Very weird.

Music got repetetive fast, but was fitting for the game. A few more juice GFX would go along way without needing much effort here. Overall, I liked it!

Thanks for checking it out! Not a native, but can read cyrillic letters as well. I understand your pain. But it fits so well :D

The snowball mechanic is nice! Very intuitve and fun. Wish there was more to it! The melted snowman looks funny.

Btw, how did you do the transition between snow and "the thaw"?

Absolutely agree with the others, the unfreezing minigame is really a great idea. I think with a few sounds and a longer level, even with just the mechanics you already have, this would already been a great game. Keep working on it!

Wow, really great Atmosphere! Music, sound and lighting really sold it for me. Unfortunately I fell down that big ice bridge and couldn't get up, maybe some invisible walls should prevent you from falling down there?

Oh god the stasis SFX is not on the correct audio bus, I turned all the volumes down and my ears fell off when I pressed the button. Other than that: Solid game! The juice and artwork really carry this game. The hitboxes could need some work.

Very nice, everything fit nicely together. I got stuck on the 4th level I think because I didn't know the jumpy guy could jump in the air again, that could have been communicated better. Oh and I also wish there were checkpoints.

I like the concept very much! It's a lot of fun to set up guys for overwatch and plan your way ahead. Sound and presentation are also up to par. Well done!

Oddly addicting! The Music is a bop too. Well done

Art and atmosphere are simply stunning, well done! But it feels like the post processing was a bit much, like the colors were washed out? Hard to describe. Gameplay was fun, I especially like the tactical decision of which robots to take over. If you keep working on it, I'd focus on interface stuff, i.e. how much AP a move/attack/ability costs, what the turn order is, etc. Was hard to keep track of all that sometimes.

Still, probably my favourite entry so far.

Very chill! I like that hitting the spikes doesn't kill you but just gives a worse score, fits the relaxed theme.

I did not manage to do the final level :D Nice idea, but needs better presentation!

Very nice! I had a similar idea, but we went with something else. I quickly figured out a winning strategy but it was always fun to see the world turn purple. Well done!

Thanks for the thorough explanation, that's awesome! I understand having the generative AI rule for this jam, but I am absolutely positive that large language models in particular will change how we perceive videogames. I am puzzled as to why there is so much resistance, especially in the indie game dev scene, over genertaive AI.

I think you nailed the look. The beaver being a 2D sprite took me out a bit, but it's a jam, I know you have to cut corners. Well done.

I love it. Creative idea, satisfying gameplay and superb presentation, and a punny name to top it all off. Well done!

Surprisingly fun! The top and bottom panels are a nice touch. Some powerups and a life system would be a nice touch.

Do the prompts you get relate to what you write? If yes, how does it work?

Fair enough. And I was worried more about folks with too small of a monitor <.<

Very interesting idea! I got stuck when I had to climb. I was thinking, maybe have the AI press multiple buttons at the same time, and have a preview for which buttons will be pressed at which time in the future? I think you are onto something here.

Definitely uncanny! The typing sounds and the robot really create a creepy atmosphere. Although I didn't quite understand what I was doing... still, good job!

Really creative take on the "you are the bullet" theme. Presentation is also nice, but I was mostly fighting the controls :( Maybe it's better on desktop. Also red outline on the target when everything else was also red is difficult to see.

I liked the idea and the sounds! But I struggled to charge my power precisely. Very punishing.

The music is nice! I would spend time adding player feedback, for example effects when you hit the hero.

Eee Macarena

Like others said, incredible artwork, but gameplay needs some polish. Well done all around.

Very creative! The music got dull fast, but other than that, creative gameplay with a nice presentation. Well done.

Very nice presentation for a pico8 game, well done. I just can't wrap my head around the whole dice matching mechanic 😂

Great work! Somethings were a bit buggy for me, it was fun nonetheless. I think some sound to indicate how much time is left would add a lot.

The artwork is incredible! And the sounds are fitting, it created a really nice atmosphere. Some things were very unclear for me, I wasn't able to change my dice between fights, but then why was it shown to me? Did the monsters shape/dice plans indicate something, or was it just artwork? I think with some cleaning up this could become something great.

Very cool, reminded me of that Pokemon Sushi Go-Round party game. I think if it was more wacky, maybe with some cool powerups, it could be a very cool party game.

Thanks, appreciate it!

Definitely the most creative arena shooter I encountered this jam! Had a hearty chuckle when I rolled the white flag. Good job!

Very clever! Only really missing some sounds.

Aha! Something truly unique, at least for me. Well done!

Pretty good! Turning into a dice in the air to break when landing is a cool idea and was satisfying. I really struggled to get into the maze in the third level I think? Really solid foundation you got here. Well done.
