Lovely graphics! The idea is similar to many that I have seen for jam, but the elements that diversify the game add to its originality and charm. I love it!

Developer

Thanks so much we really appreciate it! :)

Fun little puzzle game! Lots of charm to it, but found the movement sound particularly satsifying.

Developer(+1)

Thank you! We had actually changed the sound effects a few times throughout making the game and found that one to work the best so we're glad you liked it too! :)

Really challenging and polished. I confess I couldn't pass all the levels getting all bonuses hahaa

Developer

Thanks so much for playing! Being our first game, we definitely have learned a lot about puzzle design and want to expand on different ranges of challenges and difficulties in the future :)

I love the die animations! They're really polished! I also liked the addition of different mechanics, such as the cracking ice and the optional chips you can collect! I wasn't big brain enough to get past level five, but I could tell the levels had some good thought put into them, and the display that showed what face you would land on was a really nice addition! Great work!

Thank you so much for playing and for the kind words! We learned so much from this project and are so happy you enjoyed what we came up with! :)

The pixel art has a lot of charm. Love the fall animation, and in general the attention to detail (e.g. how the dice scrunches up its eyes while moving between squares).

Also liked the display on the left with the different sides of the die. Other dice puzzle games, take note!

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much for the kind words! We really tried our best to pay as much attention to detail as possible!  :)

The character gives me Clippy vibes; I love it!

Beautiful pixel art and absolutely charming die!

Developer

Thanks so much!

Impressive amount of elements in each level. The limited moves offers a good challenge, which I've not seen in other dice rollers. Great work.

Developer

Thanks for giving us a try, we're glad you liked it!

This game is one of the better dice rollers of the jam: you can clearly see which number will appear on which side of the die. Maybe it's just because I'm not good at planning ahead, but I did find the concept a bit annoying at times. But overall, very cool game with cute spritework!

Developer

Thanks! We tried to stand out where we could!

Cool take the dice roller game and you found a good way to show the player the sides of the dice

Developer

Thanks! We knew that would be really important when working in 2D, so we're glad it came across well!

Nice levels. I really like, that there was always something new in new level.  Another thing that I liked was maximum number of moves, so player just don't move randomly and after a lot of time manage to be at the right side.

The overview of next sides was for me little bit confusing at the start, because there was numbers of what would you have when you go to that side and not actual value of that side.

But overall quite a good game.

Developer

Thank for the kind words and feedback! We actually went back and forth on which way to present the dice overview, and we landed on the way we have it cause we found it to be a bit more confusing the other way. Ideally we wanted to add a setting in the options so you could pick which way you preferred it, but we ran out of time.

Wow, thanks so much for such an in-depth look into our game!

We agree that there is an inherent tension between making a puzzle that is too trivial and can be brute forced, and one that is too complex and requires to think far too many moves ahead. The cracks, ice, other obstacles, and time limit was our way to try and make levels into more of a puzzle with a puzzle solution.

The problem of complexity was much more difficult to deal with. We added the poker chips as a sort of hint system to see if you were on the right track, each chip can only be picked up on a certain face. If we had more time we would have loved to add a more nuanced score system where you only got full marks if you solved it quick enough with all the coins, but we ran out of time before that could be implemented. Admittedly even with that it still leaves the game relying on quite a bit of trial and error, which while functional is not ideal. If we had more time that would certainly be something we would have liked to look at longer.

It was awesome to watch someone actually play our game, and we really appreciate your detailed feedback! If we decide to update things after the jam, we will be looking into ways to make the puzzles much more satisfying based on feedback like yours.

Fun Clever and challanging,

fun little puzzle, can be challanging, nice job :)

Developer

Thanks so much!

A clever use of the dice move mechanic, the diagram really helped my lizard brain to visualize when trying to solve the puzzles. The move limitation gives it an increase in difficulty though :P All in all, a pretty fun and unique (albeit frustrating) experience.

Congrats on finishing the jam !

Developer(+1)

Thanks so much! We would like to eventually update things to make thing rely a bit less on thinking many moves ahead. Glad you enjoyed it!

Submitted(+1)

clever use of the theme. I haven't seen this form of puzzle for it yet. :)
I think you should also include a "The dev solved it in X moves" or whatevs. might add to the competitiveness. great work!

Developer

Thanks so much! That's an interesting idea, if we update things later we would like to make a more nuanced system for the move limit!
