Always down for a puzzle platformer. You did a good job gradually introducing new mechanics as well! Hope ot see more from it in the future. Great submission!

This was a solid puzzle game with an interesting central mechanic. You did a good job with the progression of new game mechanics. I never felt overwhelmed but each level required figuring something out.

My only criticisms are that the physics were a bit janky, the scrolling and movement were kinda slow, and it was very hard to tell whether doors were open or closed in the cases where there wasn’t light shining through them.

Excellent work with the puzzle progression! You do a great job introducing each mechanic! I especially liked level 6—There was a nice revelation about the solution for me at the end.

any hint for test chamber 16? so confused!

Fun game! It's nice to see the twists and mechanics you came up with as we built a game with a similar core concept.

I feel it would be nice if the wizard was a bit quicker in movement

cool puzzle game, specially appreciate (even if not intentionally a pun) that you have wizards using “scrolls”

I like the difficulty progression and super clever to include a level selector and “skip” button in a puzzle game in a jam

nice polish: lights, bloom, shaders…

main point of improvement: the sound of scrolling is very annoying for something you have to do so often in the game

I am really glad you enjoyed it :)

We are happy that you recognized our polishing efforts. Thank you for the feedback, very much appreciated!

Really cool concept and good use of the theme. Some puzzle were challenging but nothing impossible, great for a jam. Congrats of your entry

Some collision/physics issues.

Otherwise the idea and the art are cool!

I like how the mechanics were slowly introduced and that the physics allows the player to explore their own solution which is always a plus although for me I like to overcomplicate things and make it harder on myself than it needs to be. Well done.  I would recommend to indicate maybe using a white outline that the blocks that scale together with another block are linked so that it is obvious to the player we can interact with both.

This is the definition of a good bad game. The physics are so wack that some of the blocks can glitch out.

The puzzles where fun!

Excellent execution of the theme and smartly designed puzzles. Great work!

Loved this game! The last two levels were insane ! 😄

Very well made and polished game. The scaling is intuitive and well designed. Great puzzles and I really enjoyed the aesthetic of different levels! Well done on your game and best of luck in the jam :D

really liked that you add new mechanics over the time and solving a level was fun for me, good job!

It's a great game! It was difficult but enjoyable, the introduction of new mechanics made it less repetitive and I can see the great effort you've put into making this game, well done!

it was fun and looked good. Unique too! Good game. Couldn't figure out how to get past test chamber 16, 4/5 stars

Glad you enjoyed it :)

Here's a spoiler for Stage 7

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Developer(+1)

Yeah, we noticed that a lot of people don’t realize that

Spoilers for Stage 7 the lasers are pushable.

We had a stage that gave better intuition for that mechanic, but thought it was too simple. In fact, it would’ve been a perfect fit right before this stage.

Love the look, especially the shading effects. Great job on the box physics.

Developer (1 edit) (+1)

Thank you :)

The shaders look a lot better on the desktop version. We were having some issues with them (and the music) on the web build. The most notable difference is the laser: Web: image.png Desktop: FKztm3.png

This game is really fun!  I love the wizard's power to shrink objects!  Also totally agree with Mista Mangoes, the death sound effect is 10/10.  The physics gets a tiny bit weird, but I think it's fine honestly.

I do wish that other things like the lasers had something to denote they could be pushed though, it took me a bit to realize I could push them.

Developer (1 edit)

Very glad you enjoyed the game :)

I think the idea is that when something new is introduced, the player can mess around as much as they want since there’s no penalty to dying (no max lives, no lost score, etc.). Though, it would probably be nice if we added some “guide arrows” to each new game mechanic (similar to how the first stage is)

Simple, but well executed idea! My only issue were some janky physics here and there :/

The death sound effect is amazing btw lol

Developer

Thank you, the death sound was recorded from one of the team members 😂 The physics can be a bit wonky at times, yes, but we didn’t notice anything too critical with them during testing.
