Yes to both. Space for boost, and for the rest of the conttols check the game page:

(The link should also be available somewhere on top of this current page as well)

Nice fleshed out game. Reminds me a bit of old 80s arcade game. The SFX are also spot on 👌

The octopus being able to damage you caught me off guard...

Loving the art and smoothness of the animations/effects. The art reminds me a bit of GonzoSSM 🤔

Slick, smooth gameplay, loving the general "smoothness" of the sponge movement, tho it's a bit hard to control.

(Also, please lower the volume a bit next time :P  edit: it was pretty hype, tho)

Interesting concept, cute characters. I feel like it gets better with more players :) It would also be a nice idea to have larger maps depending on the player count.
Also, there's a bug where if you spam-jump towards the invisible wall, you can drop outside of the map.

Very fun & satisfying game. The brutal difficulty, "die and you restart" gives me some NES nostalgia.

I definitely want to try out a more polished version, if you plan on continuing work. I enjoy the brutal difficulty a lot. Some advice: it would be a lot nicer to give the players a bit more incentive. Better abilities, heal on kill instead of constantly losing health from everything, prevent the player from using abilities if the cost is higher than their HP, etc.

Art and music are great, and the gameplay idea is a nice twist on the RTS genre.

One complaint, however: I'm not sure if it's a bug or I'm doing something wrong (probably the latter, since no one else's complained about it so far), but after some time, I'm unable to do any mouse commands (select toys, move-to, etc.)

Thanks for the feedback.

You can leave the companion at a campfire (using spacebar), which gives you some time to hunt for resources. The spawnrate of items was increased, there's a build of it on GitHub, but unfortunately it was too late to submit it to the jam :/

Seems like we had a similar idea 😳

Very, very satisfying game (graphics, gameplay, sound, etc.)

The "hidden paths" make it a bit too hard, tho 😕

Seems like I forgot to drop a comment, but my first thoughts were exactly the same regarding adding some sort of highlight to all the interactables. Other than that, you pretty much summed up everything else . For OP, an idea for improvement would be a score system and adding more "events" that increase in frequency over time.

First game I tried, but I only just realized that I forgot to leave a comment:

Quite satisfying overall. Good music, comfy artstyle, interesting gameplay, the boxes are a really nice touch. Could be more challenging tho 😏

Very satisfying "proof of concept" (music, art, sounds, etc.). I would love to see how it turns out as a finished game.

Unique concept, very comfy music. Would be nice to expand the gameplay, maybe with some more puzzles 🤔

Thank you for the feedback 😊

Thank you for the in-depth feedback!

A score system (along with some balancing) was added (it's on GitHub) some 5 minutes after submissions were over.

Nice game. Loving the artwork :)

Would be nice if the game got paused while reloading.

Thanks for your feedback😄 We didn't have a lot of time to test and balance the game.

We have a few tweaks on GitHub that were done after the GameJam ended. We plan on updating the itch.io page once the voting is over.
