I saw the art for this in the GMTK Discord Server, the game looks very pretty! I like the idea of having to rotate the sword to avoid attacking enemies, but I feel like holding the button to keep spinning isn't as intuitive as simply pressing the button to make the sword quickly rotate a certain amount. Still a super great idea!

Really amusing concept, and very well-presented within the time! The art was great, I really enjoyed the variety of monsters, and I loved the little touches, like the little pause and camera zoom for each encounter.
The gameplay didn't hold up as well though - as I'm not the first to mention, just holding any direction was enough to make every attack miss. There's definitely a lot of potential in the idea - especially with enemies having different heights, some being in the air, and the knight winding up a differently aimed slash each time. With a little more time I'm sure you could iron out those kinks for a very fun game!
I liked the concept more than the execution to be honest. You can avoid hitting anything by holding left the entire game
Love the concept, and I found the art so appealing! Took me a while to understand how to efficiently move, and then it was a bit easy, but I had fun nonetheless! I definitely could see this game going somewhere, I'll be looking foreward for updates. Good work!
Very original Idea and the art style is amazing. It is very unfortunate that the gameplay becomes bearly existant once you realise that you can just hold left for every single combination of monster and attack possible except for 1.
Very cool concept!
As you say in the description, it's too easy for now, but if you work on the ways to avoid hitting someone (maybe the 'player' does some sort of ever-increasing combo-attack) this could definitely be very fun!
Very nice concept but everything goes to simple clicking one button. But art is cool. :)
Art looks very good and unique, gameplay isn't much engaging as almost all encounters are solved by rotating counter clockwise (in fact, the one time I rotated clockwise I lost a life). Hope I can see more in this artstyle!
I think the presentation in this is phenomenal, the visual assets are fantastic and i love the look of the thing but the game itself doesnt feel engaging enough, sadly; something like moving enemies or something less static than just rotating the sword depending on what the thrust is could be cool! A lot of potential.
Damn, you have a really fun concept but the dominant strategy is just a little too easy to find and it trivializes the challenge. Other people have made a lot of cool suggestions on fleshing out the game to make it a little more mechanically interesting with more weapon/monster variety, but I had one idea that it would be interesting to add in elements where sometimes you do have to hit the enemy. For exapmle armed enemies could also swing their weapons and you'd have to hit the weapon to parry them and protect our violent hero. Great work already though!
The presentation and concept are super solid! The game almost plays like a WarioWare game in that you need to react fast in order to beat a wave of challenges. This is a good idea to explore further. What if you had multiple weapon types that you needed to control/manipulate differently?
Thanks! I didn't consider the different weapons, but one of the reviewers suggested different heroes with their own fighting style, to which you have to adapt. I also considered making monsters not just stand there but attack, block and dodge. There is lot that can be done here, if you think about it.
-Enjoyment: The is a fun and interesting endless runner!
-Creativity: Great use of the theme, very creative!
-Presentation: The art looks great and the monsters looked friendly, so I tried by best not to hit them!
-Neat game indeed!! Please check out my non-creative entry when you can :D
Very beautiful game, I really liked the art and the idea. Well done!
The art is really cool, congrats ! I would have like more challenge or some changes in the gameplay after some fights but it's still totally okay for a jam !
The art is really clean, and the mechanics are simple and creative! I think the game might flow a bit better if you could move your sword whenever, not just when the knight attacks, and if the knight didn’t stop running to swing. I also think it could do with some sort of ramping challenge - maybe the knight gets faster - so it gets harder as time goes on. Nice work, I think this game would work especially well on a touch screen!
I really liked the concept and the visuals are spot on. Of course, being this a game jam, I feel like the dodging could receive some work after the jam (I kept playing the left button, A, and it was enough for the attacks I managed to dodge). I liked your ideas to expand the concept, and I'd like to give a suggestion: after each level, the hero who uses the sword decides to abandon it so in the next level another hero comes to use it with a different swording style, so it could bring some challenges (like, idk, one hero may try to give two hits, and you have to control both to deflect the "enemies"). I really hope to see more, great work :)
Nice and well-polished game ! The monsters were cute and we definitely want to save them all ! Good job ! :D
I loved it! The concept is really cool and it was well executed. Love the art and design of this game .The music and animation was really nice. :)
