How does your game fit the theme?
Tired of playing games? Try pausing one! This is a puzzle platformer where glitchy menu buttons are the only method of control, and the player is asked to become a pauser.

Also, here’s some Radish Boy concept art :)
FOLLOW ME TOO!!!
Loved that twist and the great puzzle design, also the mechanics changes were really cool!
Level intro panels are also just perfect ^^
And the changing music is perfect for immersion :)
So there were a "The Adventures of Radish Boy 1"?
Hahaha unfortunately there is no TAORB 1... yet. The fictional original title exists so that the devs at Empty Fridge Entertainment could be rushed to make the sequel!

We're working on an update right now with new mechanics and levels!!

Coool, also well done for the jam!
Thanks for submitting your game to the stream! If you wanted to look at the vod again in the future here it is timestamped to your game
Thanks for playing!!
Great concept, well executed! Puzzle are interesting. Excellent job!
Really appreciate it!
Cool idea, really enjoyed it. I just with I could have played using keyboard keys, because some parts require very tight timing which is hard to do by clicking buttons with a mouse.
Thanks for checking us out! Most of the puzzles were designed to make it unnecessary to quickly switch between buttons, but I totally agree that tying the controls to hotkeys would have made the game better to control. Maybe next time we'll procrastinate less on controls :)
Just wanted to let you know that we are working on an update with keyboard controls, new mechanics, and more levels!!

Very cool game! I like the connection between each individual mechanic you introduce, the story behind developing and patching a broken game, and the actual gameplay in the level. You managed to resolve every new step with exactly one text message. Amazing job on cute visuals and sounds as well, game looks very nice!
Thanks for playing! I'm glad you appreciated the dev notes, we spent a good amount of time making sure they were concise! The frustrations of patching out our (unintentional) bugs definitely found their way into our writing though :)
Thank you so much!!

Oh god. I did not expect this game to be so fun to play. Absolutely loved it!
Other than the UI buttons not being tied to the keyboard, it's really hard for me to nitpick anything. It's just that good of a jam entry.
Also loved the fact that there's a coherent story being told throughout the description and the game itself. A whole imaginary world with a fictional game studio and a fictional prequel — how cool is that!
Great job, would gladly play anything from the team going forward <3
Thanks for the kind words! I'm glad you appreciated the writing, we spent quite a bit of time making sure it had the personality it deserved :)
Good news! There's more coming from this team! We are working on an update for this game right now which will feature keyboard controls, new mechanics, and new levels!!

I genuinely love this so much. The way the mechanics are introduced contextually are very clever and funny, and I had a lot of fun with the puzzles too. Great work on this one!
Thanks! We're huge fans of your game as well!
Huge fans!!!
I also loved Spared -- what a wonderful job! I'm following you on itch just in case you make an update because your game was fantastic!

This is a very interesting concept. Some of the levels took me multiple tries to beat, trying to find the correct order of pausing the player/enemies and speeding up and resetting the player. Some stages (especially the last one) got pretty difficult to switch between the buttons quick enough and I died a few times from not being able to input 2 commands fast enough, maybe also linking these controls to hot keys would solve this. Honestly other than that there isn't much to say about it. The game plays well and has a good difficulty curve from adding new mechanics/changing what the current mechanics already do. I wouldve happily kept playing until I reached the end, so I wouldn't complain if you added more levels! Also the Dev comments at the start of each level was a good touch and made me laugh a couple of times
Yeah the hot key thing is a good point, would’ve been better than moving around with a cursor. Glad you enjoyed it!
Good news!!

Pretty original and fun idea with constantly changing rules. Gets pretty tricky towards the end, but not to a point where it gets aggrevating. As others pointed out, keyboard shortcuts would be great, since towards the end you have to flip between multiple buttons really fast, but it's not big of a deal, since i managed to finish the game regardless.
Love the humor and execution, feels like a finished game, great job!
Thanks! Yeah there definitely should’ve been hot keys, but there wasn’t enough time to implement them.
Thank you so much!!
We're glad it felt like a finished game, but Radish Boy's adventure isn't over yet...
We're working on an update to add keyboard controls, new levels, and new mechanics!

Such a charming game! I love the dev comments and hold themd ear to my heart hahahaha
I love the take on the theme, it's super creative and unique! The mechanics of the game are very fun, and I had hoped someone would make a game with intentional "bugs". I've only seen one other game with a similar concept.
Congrats on the great game guys! Stellar work.
Thank you!!
We're so glad you enjoyed our game!!
Want to see more dev comments, more mechanics, more levels (and maybe more radishes whaaaat)??
Well, we're working on an update right now to bring you just that!

Loved it! Great spin on the idea and I loved the jokes explaining why mechanics changed between levels. Incredibly charming, fantastic job!
Thanks!!

Also, I'm going to follow you because I really hope you add more to The Tutorial, and I'm excited to see what else you make!
Excellent game! It's a bit hard to click the buttons quickly enough, so maybe there could be keyboard shortcuts. Otherwise, this is a really creative idea. Well done.
Yeah I agree. Thanks for the feedback!
Great news!
We are adding keyboard shortcuts, new mechanics, and new levels right now!

Wow! I don’t often play game jam games all the way through, but this one had me hooked right to the end. The concept is incredibly creative, the writing is sharp and topical, and the puzzles are solid. If I had to give one critique, a few of the puzzles relied on some tight timing, but that’s just a nitpick. I loved how the writing and gameplay intertwined - I could imagine I was a Radish Boy fan disappointed by the new game, lol.
One of the most creative games I’ve played this jam, excellent work!
Wow thanks! Yeah some puzzles require you to move your cursor really fast, hotkeys could technically fix that.
We're so glad that you played through the whole thing!!
If you want to see more...
We're working on an update right now to add keyboard bindings (to make tight timings easier), new mechanics, new levels, and maybe, just maybe, a new radish or two 👀

Played on stream! See the video for timestamp.
Thanks bro!! Appreciate it
Excellent puzzle game! Was very stoked when I figured out the controls, I had a hard time wrapping my head around the pause, play FF mechanics at first. A really ingenious system you came up with there! Great work!
We really like seeing the moment when people realize what the controls do on the first few levels! Glad you enjoyed!
By the way, there's one more button no one has seen yet... Rev--oh I can't tell you yet!
We're working on an update right now to add keyboard bindings, new mechanics, and new levels!

Love the sensor of humour in the game, the notes really do move the game along, and provide hints! The levels are well designed. Good job on a unique game! :D
Thank you!!
Can you tell that some of those were written halfway through an all-nighter hahaha??
Also glad you liked our level designs because we reworked some of them A LOT
Want to see more levels and more dev notes??

sure thing! :D
Also well done for getting featured on Mark's video yesterday! Wooo hooo! :D
Really liked this game the best so far! Great job.
Thank you so much!!
Nice, the mechanics were very convincing, it looks like genuine bugs! Also love the sarcastic patch notes.
Glad they look like real bugs :)
The reset function is a mistake that could be made pretty easily by forgetting to reset the players x position!
If you're interested, we've got one more buggy button, and some other new mechanics coming very soon!
