Fun~! But I wish the speed upgrade made a bigger difference. Since you can only buy one thing, and you need to spend coins on it, it doesn't feel like enough of a payoff. I also kind of felt like the trainers should be throwing pokeballs at you (that also kind of makes it a reverse bullet hell; they have the bullets, you need to escape) rather than charging you down and beating you. Still, had fun playing this and learning all the different weapon abilities. Nice work!

How does your game fit the theme?
I reversed the Monster-Taming genre roles, you play as the "pocket monster". I always thought, games like Pokemon are kind of messed up. You get captured, forced to fight and feel pain over and over. Being enslaved by the monster trainers is horrible... So now, you have decided to escape and find freedom!! I had a ton of ideas, but with the time I was only able to make a simple Bullet Heaven game. Can you survive for 10 minutes and escape??

So all that time that how they saw us :( Great twist on the genre, I love the intro and the sounds you picked! It was very satisfying to play. Great work
Really fun gameplay with upgrades that stack up! Very satisfying
Cool idea, maybe you coud have differentiate a little more from Vampire Survivors. Anyway, the game works fine, good job!!!
hey there survival developers.
Good game idea
nicely implemented.!!
super fun and cute art style!!! i enjoyed this concept a lot, it's very polished for having only 2 days to complete! one thing i might note is that it was difficult to figure out how close you had to be for the trainers to hit you. i think that's what screwed me in the end, i made it to about 3 minutes! overall though, great job!
please consider rating our game as well :)
Loved the different abilities and concept of the game. I did find it fun but I feel like the upgrades for coins could have been usable multiple times during the level up process because I found myself overflowing with coins but I can see it being a balancing issue. Thanks for the game!
congrats on making the game that you wanted! 10 minutes a little long and would be good to see some animation on the trainers!
The concept might be not so original, but the gameplay is still pretty addicting and it's fun to try out different attacks and level up. Controls feel a bit sluggish though, but i suppose that's on purpose, so that you can improve with level ups.
Either way, good job on making a proper game!
Quite a fun game!
Obviously it is a bit of Vampire Survivors clone, but I really liked the idea and story plus the abilities of our mon. It feels fun to play and is polished for a jam game. I played it until the very end, and the only moments I was struggling was around 2 minutes and then 10 minutes :d It was getting a little bit overwhelming there, while it was easy in other moments. But nevertheless I enjoyed it. A couple issues I had was that with all exp and our abilities being this neon yellow, it was hard to see at times. I think the XP sprite colour could be a bit toned down and maybe made a little bit transparent as a couple of times I almost didn't notice the enemy under huge pile of xp and they hit me. And personally while the sound effects are nice, when I was picking big piles of XP the sounds did get a bit annoying. Obviously it wasn't a big issue but definitely noticeable for me.
Overall a solid entry that is very much fun to play. Good job!
Nice concept! I like the work you put to introduce the game's story and world. Also liked the simple art style. I wish the movement was made a bit faster than current state. Other than that, it's a really good job!
Hahaha another confirm that Vampire Survivors is really addictive: I played till there were no more upgrades to purchase... I really enjoyed story and graphics too, well done!
I beat it, as long as you dont start with the sword you're good. Very similar to vampire survivor but thats just a very fun game genre, so your game was fun too. Art was alright.
Genuinely cool game ! Managed to go to level 11 before being obliterated, really enjoyed all the way through :)
I looked up your game YesterSol on Steam, seemed really nice ! Please keep going, I would love to see it release !
This idea is exactly the kind of perspective transformation or paradigm shift I was hoping to see a lot of from this theme: questioning the practices in popular games when you think about it more than you should. Pokémon is full of that questionable stuff indeed.
Your story/cutscene made it work to the theme, otherwise I'd just say it's a good remix of vampire survivors. I really like this type of game, but I'd have strongly preferred if you had also explored new (combinations of) mechanics to fit that story, when it's a game jam. It felt a little too much like a standard upgrade-based shoot 'em up game (i.e. playing it safe), and I'm going to subtract some points for that reason (for all I know, you've already done a vampire survivors adaptation in the past, and then you just copy-pasted it, added a basic story and added new graphics - that shouldn't give big rewards in a game jam that's about coming up with new interesting ideas imo).
On the flipside, this game is a very well-made adaption, the sounds work very well and the game is balanced enough to be very fun to play - and I can't lie that I was addicted for a bit. Here's some of my playthrough: https://imgur.com/a/8B1296v
Great job, very impressive - especially if most of the code was done during the jam. Thanks for sharing it!
Loved it! Played all the way to become the ultimate legendary mini-mon that every trainer wanted to capture.
Nice twist! I like it! I often couldn't collect my EP, that was bit frustrating.
