Wow! Love this one so much. Great presentation, super polished, addictive gameplay, great power-up system. The Snorbles are definitely a very plushyrrific (could see them working well in plushy form) sort of dudes!
I think you've already gotten a bit of feedback on the reloading mechanic. I agree that it's too difficult to tell when it's time to reload, and the game would benefit from a *RELOAD RELOAD* like in lightgun games, and possibly a different placement of the bullet meter which makes it easier to see since otherwise your eyes are not likely to be on that part of the screen. And especially since there are so many possible modifiers to your bullet capacity, so you can't just keep track in your head easily how many shots are left.
Aside from that, I'd say turn the vignetting effect when you're losing way way down. It's very distracting when you're trying to concentrate on anti-anti-worble destruction and all of a sudden this vignetting darkens everything and kills the flow. It also makes it much harder to come back from that.
Overall, an excellent, super polished game! Would love to see more of it post-jam!
Super addictive game! The art is super well polished too
Thank you so much!
Nice game! I really liked the models and how they were receiving damage and kept their smiley face hahaha, It is a good game and it have good mechanics! good work!
Thanks a lot! Really happy you enjoyed it—and yes, the smiling damage-taken look was a fun little touch we couldn’t resist keeping in 😄 Appreciate the kind words!
A very well-crafted project — everything feels cohesive and fits together nicely. I really like the stat highlights turning green when hovering over upgrades — it’s very intuitive and gives a clear sense of how the game will change. The camera work is great and the graphics are well-chosen (at times a bit dark, which creates a nice contrast with the rest). The leaderboard is a fantastic addition — it motivates players to improve their scores. The list of assets is also good — it’s great to see what tools and resources you used.
All in all, this is a polished and complete project, easily one of the best I’ve played. Everything comes together really well. Congrats!
Wow, thank you so much! That’s incredibly encouraging to hear. We put a lot of thought into the overall feel and clarity, so it’s great to know that came across. Really glad you noticed the stat highlight detail and enjoyed the leaderboard—that was a late but fun addition. Thanks again for taking the time to play and leave such thoughtful feedback!
You nailed the feel of this game! It's so satisfying to play. The sounds are soo juicy.
Very well done!
Thanks so much!
I really like the look. And that it’s a completely finished game, without any noticed bugs. Maybe you can add some shop or update systems to create more strategic game play. It reminded me of the old chicken shooter…
Thanks a lot! Really glad it felt polished to you. We actually had a third Snorble planned that would’ve supported the other two, and I had a few more upgrades on my list—but yeah, we just ran out of time during the jam :)
Yes, I know the time limit. :) Would be so nice if you’ve time to rate mine and write a line.
So much fun! Loved everything: the dialougue, the gameplay, the 2.5d style, the upgrades. One thing though on the middle island, if the green guy stands on the right-most spot he is unkillable, no matter what enemies do
Oh and a dot in the middle of the crosshair would be really nice for shooting smaller things like the reload things that greens throw
Thanks for the suggestion! That was actually intentional—to make hitting those small cookies from the greens a bit more challenging :)
Thanks a lot! Really happy you found it polished. And yeah—wave 22 gets a bit wild, so the sound overlap is definitely something we’ll look into tweaking. Appreciate the feedback!
Simply amazing and very well polished. Maybe there was a bit too much sound overlap, but kind of expected with all the chaos in wave 22
Retro Hunter 2 is a delightful blend of classic arcade action and modern design. The Snorbles are endearing, and the gameplay is both engaging and addictive. A reload indicator would enhance the experience, but overall, it's a fantastic game. Great job!
Thank you so much! Really glad you enjoyed it—and yep, the reload indicator is definitely on our post-jam list now :) Appreciate the kind words!
Very impressive presentation and nicely overpowering music for a dramatic feel.
The challenge level seems quite easy? Out of curiosity I went a round without firing a single shot and still had a successful hunt. A second round of the same did put me into danger of losing, but I survived that as well. It wasn't until the third consecutive round of pacifism that the poor Snorbles were wiped out.
Thanks a lot! The lose condition is actually tied to losing all your Snorbles. It’s intentionally quite easy at the beginning, but the difficulty increases up to wave 30. After that, the game doesn’t scale further—but it keeps going until you’re eventually wiped out.
I had to claw myself away from this one, very fun! I found having to focus on all 3 platforms at once too much for me but being able to decide how much difficulty i wanted by being able to choose where to place snorbles was greatly appreciated. Very nice work!
Thanks so much, really glad you had fun! You can actually choose where to place each Snorble in the selection window—on the left side, there are four toggle buttons: Random, Left Island, Middle Island, and Right Island. That way, you can decide for each new Snorble where they should go :)
Yoooo most fun game I played so far!
Thanks so much! That means a lot—really glad you had fun! 😄
This is another game I could soooo see young me playing day after day when i get home from school. Good job fam!
Thanks a lot! That’s cool to hear :D Glad it gave you those classic after-school gaming vibes :)
The game was lots of fun. Sometimes shots felt like they should have hit but didn't, but maybe that was just a skill issue. An auto reload when trying to shoot on an empty weapon could be a nice addition for beginner players, but I enjoyed it either way :D
You’re not the only one who’s mentioned that about the reload—we’ve definitely heard that feedback a few times now ^^ An auto-reload or better indicator is something I’ll likely add after the jam. Thanks for playing and Feedback:)
I loved the game! It's truly fun and addictive to play, the skill level-ups are very well thought out and it was interesting to see a ranking system, great job! However, when I tried to download the Windows version, it downloaded the web version instead. I'm not sure if that's how it's supposed to work, so I just wanted to let you know
Thanks for the kind words—really glad you had fun with it! Awesome to hear the skill upgrades and ranking system worked well for you :) And big thanks for the heads-up about the Windows version—I totally messed that up 😅 It should be fixed now though, hopefully the correct build is up this time:/
Awesome graphics and SFX! I kept clicking and forgot to check ammo for reloads 🤣
Great job!
Thanks a lot! You’re not alone—forgetting to reload happens a lot 😄 You’re right though, a better reload indicator is something several people have mentioned, and I’ll definitely look into adding that after the jam.
Good game
Thx SwigSwag!
This is such a great game with amazing mechanics and great combat! The game might be better if it were just one floating island, because having three made it a bit too hard to help all at the same time. Otherwise, I love this game, great job! 👍
Thanks a lot! Glad you enjoyed the combat and mechanics :) And you’re absolutely right—you can totally play it with just one island if that feels better! The only lose condition is running out of Snorbles, so each round you’re free to place them wherever you like. Focusing on a single island is a valid strategy!
This was awesome! Fun to play, great upgrade mechanics, a leaderboard, links to all the assets, stylish, just excellent!
Thanks a lot! Really happy you enjoyed it:)
Oh my god this game is great I love every aspect of it good job.
We’re really happy you enjoyed it:D
