So much fun. Obviously not the most original idea as several other people have done a similar mechanic but this was the most fun of the ones I've tried so far. I loved that I could just kill myself at will and I didn't even necessarily have to do things the "right" way so long as I had a big enough pile of bodies.
As the game got longer it did get a little tedious with having to die and start from the beginning of the level but 10 levels was just about right. If you went any further I think you'd need to introduce a new mechanic of some sort.
I just clicked on this one on a whim because I recognised your name, possibly from the FB group or the challenge club (or RPG course testers).
I see that you made Gem Mountain last year - you've come so far. This blows that out of the water, and that did really well last year.
Visuals are great, the sound effects were top notch. I loved the confetti when you clear the level. Very satisfying.

Heh, I havnt come across to many similar oens yet myself, but had a few others mention that to. I'm glad mine was the most fun! :D
Yeah, as it developed, I quite liked the idea that the bodies could just pile up with each previouse try :). Tried not to require to many, or make it to long. And indeed, moving forward i'm going to need to shake things up a little to keep it interesting.
Thanks so much for your feedback, I apreciate it.
Lemmings go undead...:)
Great game!
It totally fits the theme, the aesthetics and the sound loop work well together, it has some quite advanced and well polished puzzle mechanics and the level design is also very good.
10 levels is also just the right size. (And there's no pressure to complete all of them if one didn't have the time right away)
This is a really good game.
Trying to think of any constructive feedback i can for it.
Add a story for it and maybe a little intro story but this is clutching straws for feedback.
congrats on submitting it.
i thought back to a game dev event i have been at and remembered a game with the exact same name. so you might need to change the name if you proceed with the game and i do hope you do proceed with it. https://www.headupgames.com/game/dead-end-job
The story was at best shoved in the "welcome Letter" on the main menu, but beyond that, the concept of this buisness using Zompies as workforce (an infitie supply they have it seems) may need to come out more through the gameplay. Moving forwards, this may be somthig I need to seriouly think about, to add another level to the game. So thanks so much for that feedback, really important thing for me to remember.
Also thanks a lot for the nudge on naming. I'll probably have to get attached to another name :P. Never released a game before "commercialy", and i am thinking of sticking with this project, so may need to start looking into these sorts of things to.
Thanks a lot, I really apreciate it! and really glad you enjoyed playing.
I absolutely loved this! It's very commendabe the level of polish that the game has in such short timeframe. The animations were funny, music and SFX was really on point and the puzzles were fun.
As a matter of personal taste, I'd have the zombies move just tiny bit faster (and maybe compensating by lowering a tad bit how much they can float in the air) and also make the next one (after killing the current) appear faster to reduce downtime as much as possible.
Very cool game. Good job!
Excellent - really good dieing noise and effects. Got to level 5
Jumping occasionally felt unresponsive, especially on slopes, but definitely still had fun. My PB is 21 deaths. You could do zombie voiceovers professionally.
Stellar entry! I enjoyed (almost) every second of it! The different mechanics work really well together and I loved that each one had a different death state for the zombie(i.e. the acid destroyed them) The lighting was also great, made activating the machines easy and readable. After 35 casualties I managed to beat the game, excellent work!
I should've added what the almost part was for feedback purposes, my bad there. The only issue was the dead bodies I left behind would slide around too much and it would end up in spikes or acid because I fat fingered my jump. Maybe it would be better if they had more weight or you have to push against them for half a second before they budge? Either way the Zomployees did an excellent job and deserve a pizza party for all their hard work :)
I really like the look of your game. The glowing is awesome, the different color zombies, and the ui looks really clean too. It all works together very well with the humor and atmosphere. My one critique is that I feel like the zombie corpses are a bit too easy to shove far. They should move when you crash into them, because it's nice to be able to place them, but right now they act like they are on ice and it's easy to send one flying when you didn't mean to. I also agree with others that a bit less time to respawn would be good. But it's a nicely polished game that really works well! Nice job!
Great feedback about the Zombie corpses being to light, Thanks so much for that!
Zombie random colours took me a bit to get working, I don't play with shaders often. But So glad I did, as it gave it so much more visually (for somthing so simple as random Hue and Saturation).
Thanks again, glad you enjoed it, and apreciate the feedback!
Really nice mechanics and the glowing sticks is a nice addition to cool aesthetics. I've seen this game yesterday in the stream, and today I finally played it myself. The way you can climb the walls is a bug or feature? Or maybe a bug that became a feature? :) Good work!
This is really smart game, I truly enjoy every single minute of playing it ! I would not changed anything , it is really nicley done, the gameplay is smooth, the music is relexing, I want it on my phone :P
