Really nice adaptation of the theme to a classic game, makes it easy to understand while adding a twist. I also found that aiming with the paddle worked surpsisingly well, good job!
Great modernization of breakout! It's very stylish. In terms of improvements: more variety of powerups. Things that could completely break the game: exploding balls, a paddle that can extend on demand, and bricks that fight back. Nice job!
Very good game play and UI, I enjoyed it ! well done
Wow.
Very creative!
Nice vibes!
Super nice presentation on this game! I liked the unique way the paddle moved. It made things feel off-balance! For the upgrades, I found myself choosing strength every time as it seemed the most useful and most permanent. then, when I was close to dying, I just picked extra life. I did like the balance of picking up the XP and getting the ball. I think paddle size would be a cool upgrade. This would make a great roguelike. Great work! Keep it up
Thanks for playing and your feedback! The upgrades seem to be common thing for a lot of people, If I were to do it again, id probably spend a little longer on the types of upgrades maybe an explosive ball or something like that also.
cool vibe, left me wishing for more upgrades
thanks for playing!
I expected the ball to react more to the paddle’s angle. Hard to tell whether the angle had any impact at all on the ball’s direction after bouncing.
It’s nice on the whole, hey, Breakout is always fun! And thank you so much for supporting gamepads!
thanks for the feedback!
Its funny you mention that, I had to do a little "fudging" of the math to make the bounces even feel that responsive, its a tricky thing to balance (bua dum tis...).
great fun take on the breakout game , used to play this game all the time on my blackberry , great sound design and visuals , love the upgrade tree , my only critic is that the games exp drops are to similar to the players ball , exp could be a bit smaller with green or red to make more a distinction between the ball and exp . would love if you could go check out my game, Load it up!
A very fun take on the classic Breakout! Adding those physics to the paddle somehow makes the game feel more manageable (even though conceptually it should be harder XD), but at the same time it definitely adds to the challenge. I also liked that you introduced a new mechanic in the final level (the moving blocks) to keep things from getting too repetitive—it would be great to see more levels with extra little gimmicks like that.
Visually and sound-wise, the game turned out really well. The only thing I’d mention is that the jam theme feels a bit loosely connected.
I also agree with some of the feedback you’ve already received: the extra ball upgrade doesn’t feel too satisfying since it tends to get lost almost instantly. It would also be nice if, like in the original game, the ball returned to the paddle after losing a life. As it is, it respawns from the side of the screen, and I sometimes ended up losing two lives in a row because I couldn’t reach it in time.
All in all, great job—you’ve made a really fun reinterpretation of the game!
Simple, fun and great music
thank you! :)
Cool, I'm enjoy
Adding physics to the paddle is a very nice twist! the upgrade of getting a second ball seems strange since it is a losable upgrade (either by wining a level or losing a life)
Good point on the second ball upgrade, definitely something I should fix in the future, I noticed while watching a friend of mine play that most people end up just using the strength upgrade every time.
Loved the retro aesthetic! Enjoyed playing it! :D

thanks!
Surprised at how much I liked this, well done! I'd totally play this on my phone if it had a bit more polish/content.
Love the balancing paddle, it feels physics based like you're drifting with it sort of. The aesthetics are great, some interesting screensavers/desktops etc. on the monitor would add a lot. Also more feedback for events, I didn't really realize when I lost a life for example and there was no visual feedback picking up coins except slight top bar movement. Music was enjoyable.
I made it all the way to endless mode. It's perfect gameplay wise for this jam, but long term I'd really like more randomness in the play (introduce special blocks for instance) or for it to get faster as the game goes on (could have chill mode and crazy mode even). I mostly chose second ball upgrade, and every time it spawned from top left which was a bit annoying depending on where I was - randomness there would be great too.
Overall, great work! If you do keep developing this and publish an Android version I'll play it for sure.
Thanks for the the detailed feedback! I'm glad you enjoyed it, your game was really impressive!
I like the idea of different modes to spice things up, I was toying with some sort of explosive ball but wasn't able to get around to it in time.
Very good good new version of a breakout game, while combining the movement of with the theme! Graphics look awesome, although I somehow got the feeling that they do not fit perfectly well together. I like the idea of presenting the game in a retro style, but the edges look a bit off and when a ball hits these edges, movement feels "confusing". Would be also nice to get kind of a pause screen when another level is reached, as transition feels too fast, loosing overview quite quickly. Other than that: Great work!
Cool retro style! I always liked Breakout, I like the addition of a rotation of the racket but I think it's not very easy to control, and maybe (but probably it's just me) I'd make it faster.
Noted! Thanks for the feedback :)
Very cool Graphics! :)
