They've taken the classic brick-breaker formula and spun it into something fresh and exciting!

Very fun and nostalgic

Very very good game. Like that there's an endless mode when you complete it. Old-school game reworked in an awesome way. Great job!

Very fun gameplay and good game assets.

Great work on the submission!

Pros:

  • Simple coherent graphics and aesthetic
  • Good sound effects and BGM
  • Interesting twist to the Breakout game
  • Fun gameplay

Suggestions:

  • More upgrade options, falling powerups
  • When the ball contacts the angled paddle, sometimes it does not bounce off as expected
  • The function of the balls/bar UI were unclear at first
  • Ball should respawn from the paddle

Nice work. I gain a lot of fun while playing!

A classic brick-breaking game, but the addition of a balance-based paddle gives players more directional control, which is a nice twist! The falling experience points also reminded me a bit of Vampire Survivors, and the way it's combined with the brick-breaker mechanics works really well.

I feel the +ball upgrade is a bit underpowered—once a ball is lost, there's no way to recover it, which makes the other two options consistently more valuable. It might be worth rebalancing this to make the choice more meaningful.

I had to stop myself playing this game, it was starting to get addicted.

Great job!

Great job. Really nice game. Nice soundtrack. It was ok to play on mobile.

Sometimes the last xp balls appears falling on the next level. You could change the color of xp. I though it was the ball to play.

Nice art too.

Of the games that I’ve rated so far, this is one of my favorites! Aiming with paddle felt very responsive. I like the XP system, but the strength power-up does seem far more powerful than the others. I’d agree with some things others have said. The extra ball doesn’t seem very powerful as it can easily be lost. Since the ball doesn’t respawn at the paddle, it’s easy to lose two lives in a row. Great work!

Really nice adaptation of the theme to a classic game, makes it easy to understand while adding a twist. I also found that aiming with the paddle worked surpsisingly well, good job!

Great modernization of breakout! It's very stylish. In terms of improvements: more variety of powerups. Things that could completely break the game: exploding balls, a paddle that can extend on demand, and bricks that fight back. Nice job!

Very good game play and UI, I enjoyed it ! well done

Super nice presentation on this game! I liked the unique way the paddle moved. It made things feel off-balance! For the upgrades, I found myself choosing strength every time as it seemed the most useful and most permanent. then, when I was close to dying, I just picked extra life. I did like the balance of picking up the XP and getting the ball. I think paddle size would be a cool upgrade. This would make a great roguelike. Great work! Keep it up

Thanks for playing and your feedback! The upgrades seem to be common thing for a lot of people, If I were to do it again, id probably spend a little longer on the types of upgrades maybe an explosive ball or something like that also.

cool vibe, left me wishing for more upgrades

thanks for playing!

I expected the ball to react more to the paddle’s angle. Hard to tell whether the angle had any impact at all on the ball’s direction after bouncing.

It’s nice on the whole, hey, Breakout is always fun! And thank you so much for supporting gamepads!

Developer

thanks for the feedback!

Its funny you mention that, I had to do a little "fudging" of the math to make the bounces even feel that responsive,  its a tricky thing to balance (bua dum tis...).
