Congratulations on an amazing game and amazing finish! Hope your team is celebrating a job incredibly well done. See you around the itchverse!

Thank you so much for the support. Great job on your submission as well! All the best with your future gigs and Brackey’s gam jam, if you actually decided to go for it.

I just really like these style sim games, and you nailed it, maybe just more animation in the main screen would be nice!

Phenomenal! The game feels so full and polish, the art sprites, dialog, story and music, the full package! The different outcome at the end and the variety of event does encourage me to try it multiple times. I have nothing else but to say, the team did a very great job!

Great work! I enjoyed the little easter eggs (like the marriage proposal one hehe).  The pixel art is absolutely gorgeous, I love love love the colors!

Absolutely wonderful in every aspect. Breathtaking graphics, fun game play loop - reminds me a lot of monster rancher. And there's a surprising amount of content for a game jam game. Strong candidate for the game jam winner

All 5 stars for me! The art and design is amazing, and probably the most clever and funny references I've seen. The game explains itself in a lovely way, and the writing is top notch, really getting the player into the story.

Such a polished and well thought-out game! There was so many small doses of stories, and was surprised to see more and more characters with each new event. It was nice to have to balance out the different stats, figuring out what to train and when to rest. I can't believe there's so many options to choose from and multiple endings as well. And with many of the events having multiple options to choose from, it made me want to play multiple times to see the dialogues from everyone. Having to both focus on stats as well as manage the monthly rent made the game quite challenging too. I failed my first 3 runs not knowing that I was short on money, but after passing the 1st month, it became a lot easier.

The pixel art is perfection. Everything is so cute and has a very warm and balanced colour tone. The menus and icons showcase details effectively. Even the short idle animations is cute!

Oddly, the only bug I found was when finishing the game once and then trying to start a new run, after clicking on the Play button, it just fades to black and it gets stuck.

Thanks for the long review, I'm glad you liked everything this game has to offer. Quite a few of the events are added around 2 days before submissions, but I'm glad we managed to put aside time to get them implemented. Money and rent is there to prevent the player from choosing trainings without thinking, so it's good to know that you're able to overcome it.

As for the bug, seems like there's some issue with the screen transition and it got stuck in the 'blackened' state. Thanks for bringing it up.

It's a very cute game! I love the art and music, it makes the whole experience really charming. The events were also a cool way to show a bunch of references to Doki's streams and friends.

This whole game was a dream from start to finish. Super cute, super fun! I loved all the events and references.

Loved a lot of things about this game! The art was super cute, the vibes were chill, the references were there. I think your whole team did a great job putting this together. Not much feedback to give honestly, just be proud of what you made in such a short time!

Wonderfully cute art style, loved the trainer type game!  The writing was excellent, loved all the references, especially the banter with Mint.  The polish on this was a cut above just about everything else I've seen.

If I had one complaint, it would be that it wasn't very clear what the bar to get a special ending was, and I ended up narrowly missing out on them all with a very balanced build.  If this is the culmination of the chain reaction, I feel like for me, it was a bit of a let-down.

Still really enjoyed the game overall, though.

Thanks for the review, I’m glad you like the game so much. From our playtesting, we found out that there were 2 types of people; one who min max the heck out of one stat, and another that only chooses the random event encounters. The ending issue wouldn’t happen to the first type of people, but I guess I have to figure out how to make it intuitive for the others. Thanks for pointing that out!

One of the games I was looking forward to playing most! Insanely polished entry and a type of gameplay I find very engrossing. I only pulled myself away from playing it because I have to look at other games. I did find some of the stat associations to be a little abstract or not quite clearly signaled, but not enough to really effect my enjoyment. And props for fitting in more references than just Mint. Even though there wasn't a lot of dialogue, Doki felt like Doki (the pixel art really helps with that, too). A great, effective take on "Princess Maker" management sims. If this had a story or conversation mechanics in it I'm not sure I would have been able to pull myself away from it quite so easily. I'm not saying that to complain that you didn't make a different game, but to illustrate how great the core gameplay is and how I think it could be part of something bigger if you wanted to continue tinkering with it after the jam. I think my only real concern about the game kinda has nothing to do with it. (I find the chosen username of one of the contributors kind of alarming, but I guess it might be ironic.)

Quite a few of the sounds/music tracks reminded me of things I couldn't quite place. I'm not sure if they were direct references or if the music just nailed the style so much that it felt as if I'd heard it somewhere else.

Great game, plenty of polish, something you should really be proud of, and let me know if you do any more with it after the jam.

Developer(+2)

Thank you so much for the detailed review. The game did end up needing a lot more writing than I initially planned, and we did not have a dedicated writer, so I’m glad the dialogue still turned out enjoyable. I have to thank the playtesters as well to allow us to polish the core gameplay to this degree. As for the music, I don’t have much to say. I just told the composer what we’re looking for and almost everything just fits perfectly. I’m sure he has some secret references hidden somewhere.

We don’t talk about the username

Oh, who did the writing? I forgot to call this out specifically in my earlier comment, but I thought the "marriage proposal" reference was integrated very cleverly. Also, I'm stunned at how many unique assets you guys managed to make!

Developer (1 edit) (+2)

cloudlime did most of the writing. He handled the UI, art direction, additional pixel art, and part of the design as well

Holy!!! The art style is so polished and insane references.

I love it!

Cuteeee!!! The art direction is immaculate!

THANK YOU!!!!!!!!

Very nice "Princess Maker" style kind of game with all the little events where other VTuber friends interact with Doki and the different ending choices you can take depending on your stats at the end of the game.

Very cute pixel art! Also loved the little merch shill there.

Played a bunch of times and got 3 different endings! (no job, broke and "nowhere to hide")

Minor typo in the stats upgrade message. Says "$ incresed", should be "$ increased" (missing the letter a)

Great job, team!
Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing it for so long, I’m glad you found it fun. Good catch regarding the typo in one of the most seen dialogue. I have no idea how we missed that.

i really love the art in this game and the animations are so fun

That was really nice I ended up doing all the endings before I realized it
