How does your game fit into the theme?
The story is about creating chain reactions of love and kindness. Oh! And in the final boss fight there's a chain reaction of radioactive bunnies. They'll populate the whole screen if you don't keep them under control. Haha.

Awesome game, love the art and vibes.  <3

Great retro throwbacks! Love the new carts and living room feel, great music and art.

My only issue was I was a little distracted by the zoom in damage, but nice

A very well constructed little game! Don't get me wrong, I love the game. For feedback on it, I see you reused tiles to quickly create rooms, very smart! Though it did leave me feeling like there was a large lack of variety between areas. (All the rooms felt the same.) The controls felt really restrictive, perhaps you were trying to emulate NES games, but moving a direction to aim in said direction felt really awkward. Story is simple and good! And I see you put a lot of effort into presentation, and it looks very nice! Though I would have at least zoomed into the TV, because I found myself squinting at the screen a lot. A fantastic entry!

As this is my first game Jam, I find myself questioning how much "made from scratch" is supposed to be here, as I thought it was to be entirely made from scratch? I thought they said the only assets were the provided ones, and didn't think we could use any premade music or assets or code, even if free. Regardless, a top contender!

(Edit, perhaps because you are more experienced, if you have time, you can explain more about what is and isn't normally allowed? Thank youu!)

Wow ! The amount of polish on that game !
The art / presentation is just stunning.
Story is cute & engaging.

You did an amazing job!

Tiny tiny bug report : just before the boss battle every time you interact with the pannel you get a new set of trophies. So you can basically get an infinite amout of it. Not sure if it as an impact at all though ^^

This is an amazing entry for the game jam!

The controls where a little hard to figure out and there was one time I got stuck in a wall and had to restart but it really is amazing.

Developer

Thanks for playing! Were the controls hard to figure out because you weren't sure what keys to use? Or was it more like it was just hard to play?

It was figuring out which keys to use to shoot in a specific direction but that might have just been me.

...I wish I could give you infinite amount of stars...

AWESOME!!!!

I think other comments already said the things I had in mind so, Cool you accomplished so much in 2 weeks, presentation is great!

While the presentation is technically impressive, there are a lot of annoying things in this game. I was excited to play this game but I really did not have a good time. The Doki laughing clips are obnoxiously loud compared to everything else (everything else is also not balanced very well either) and there is no way to adjust volume from what I can see. During the boss the combination of all the loud sounds made me throw my headphones. The walk speed is slow and there is a lot of walking around geometry. The enemy bullet hit detection is weird due to limited movement and no shadow on bullets. The screen shakes are WAY too intense. The still images of the game look so good but the actual experience of it was painful.

Developer

Thanks, Foliagic, for your super-helpful feedback. I completely agree with your suggestions. I'll try to squeeze in some fixes before the deadline! Good luck with the jam! :D

The presentation of this is genuinely amazing. The art and music lean into each other really well and the story is very sweet. The gameplay reminded me of the older fallout games if they weren't turn based (if that makes any sense LMAO) and I think you captured the retro feeling very well. Overall, great job!

Probably the most creative game I've tried so far! The loading of the game on the web page is amazing. I love all things retro and absolutely loved this style! The gameplay was so much fun. Reminded me of stuff like Resident Evil, Zombies Ate My Neighbors, and Smash TV.
For feedback:

1. The page doesn't seem to render properly, and I can only see it on my end when I make my web browser window smaller.
2. The health system seemed to bug out in the middle and I couldn't see how much I had left.
3. I think the voice clips of Doki laughing were unnecessary and got old real quick after every kill. It took me out of the ambience a bit.
4. There was also a bit too much story for me, but that's more so a personal taste so it's probably no issue!
5. Would also have liked a bit more guidance on what to do at the beginning, as it wasn't clear that I had to shoot the turrets to open the door. I thought maybe there was more to explore outside the facility.

Sorry that was a lot, but it's because I loved the game so much that I had a lot to say! Would love to buy a more complete game like this! Otherwise I may want to make one myself hahah

this game is oozing with style, that is without a doubt the coolest way I’ve ever started a video game

The realistic background loaded weird for me, what a shame.

Fun short game with really good art, I got a weird bug where Dokis started moving by herself and tping all over the place but it fixed itself lmao

The placement of some enemies was a bit unfortunate as they would hit me basically as soon as I entered the rooms.

Developer

Very pretty game! I liked the ending a lot. It was quite sentimental.

The game is really nice and I love the retro aesthetic!

This was so high quality, from start to finish, I was seriously impressed.  I really liked how you wove into existing lore and made something really heartfelt out of it.

Seriously impressive! The game, the pixel art, the music, the page, all amazing and in only 2 weeks?! wanted to play another level!

Short and sweet game!

Great presentation, fun and punchy gameplay and great soundtrack!

The meta element in the story was a nice touch!

I wish there was a bit more of the chain reaction theme in the core gameplay but having it as part of the story is okay too.

Great work!
