Great game! The artwork and vibe is so nice. I loved the facial expressions you used! It was nice having Mint along helping with any tutorials through dialogue. My favourite is the death screen with Nimi <3

The controls did feel a bit slippery and very fast paced. And the bullets do clip slightly past the floors, so I could hit enemies while underneath them if I angled it right.

It's super cute, fun, and creative, but I think the controls are a little slippery and the jump speed imo could've been turned down a notch.  The art is amazing for both the characters and backgrounds! The music is catchy, too.

I am so impressed by how much you managed to do within those two week :O! Love how the art has all those expressions that were drawn. Sadly the camera kept glitching out for me so I couldn't finish :')

I feel like this game deserves #1 for the References/Humour section. The amount of time put into the character art and background art is unimaginable... The gameplay is solid, too!

Sadly the camera sometimes doesnt follow so i couldnt get very far, but very nice dialogue animations and art style :D

image.png The screenshot is from my third clear. Is one route just way faster than the other in stage one? Cause it felt like that. I love all the references and the movement feels great (if a little on the fast side but that also has to do with stage design) Genuinely fun game. Would not be surprised if it wins the whole jam!

Love it <3

Short and fun platformer game!

I liked the visuals and the sound effects you used.

The story was fun and crazy! I also liked that in the first area you could reach the end through multiple paths, and the little details in Dooby's train representing multiple of Doki's friends.

One thing I noticed is that the boss fight can be cheesed by standing on a platform near the top of the screen. The projectiles will get stuck on the ceiling so you can safely shoot at the boss every time he comes down.

Very well put together game. Good job, team!

Edit: I completely forgot there was a dash button. By default Doki runs pretty fast!

Cool game. Love the art and humor. I thought the controls were a bit floaty but got used to them in by the end.

Veeeery charming art style and dialogue! Cool voice effects too!

Oh man I really loved the presentation for this one! The art is very charming and I think I could leave the opening music on for hours. Gameplay is very snappy as well and the movement felt nice to control.

Loved the writing and the art!  You really hit the nail on the head with their voices and reactions.  The gameplay was pretty cool too.

If I had one request, it would be to make the spacebar jump, I kept getting thrown off that it was only on W.

Thank you so much for the kind words! ^_^ I’m so so happy you enjoyed the game! :D And space should be an option for movement- I included multiple options for movement and jumping! Is it not working for your keyboard for some reason? I can look into fixing it!

Space did not seem to be jumping for me on web, no.

That's so odd! Do you mind if I ask what computer you use (ie a mac?) I tested it again on my computer and my work computer and it still seemed to be working for me- it's just mapped to Godot's input for 'space bar'- so I'm curious if a difference in hardware causes the input to be read differently. Regardless, I'll see if I can add a custom remap option to make it so that if people run into the same issue as you, they can remap the input! ^_^ Apologies for the inconvenience!

Huh, it seems to be working fine for me now.  Must have been an issue on my end.  Sorry for the false alarm!

Laugh out loud dialogue! I love the little references in the background art too. It's amazing you guys could pull this in 2 weeks!

The Banjo Kazooie type dialogue was super funny lol I also wasnt paying attention at first, shot the bomb as soon as I saw it, and was just as surprised as Doki. Only thing I wish the game had was separate audio sliders for sound balancing.

Really solid game! The art direction was really good! The platformer controls were a bit stiff, but the presentation was really really good!

i love the gameplay and the art

the art is incredible! i was going way too fast though and kept getting the bad ending XD

Really fun! Loved the art and the script. Movement took a bit of getting used to but I figured it out.

Overall, the game is very well polished. Movement is a bit too quick and slippery, which was not an issue for me most of the time other than during some of the platforming sections. It was a little confusing when the path branches, but I made it to the end fine. Difficulty is on the easier side and I would much prefer that for a jam game. The dialogue system stands out the most here to me, with plenty of character variations, responsive controls and humourous writing.  I can see that the tilemapping is a bit of a rushed job, but you've still managed to avoid creating similar levels. Sound is balanced nicely and I like how dragoons squeaks when shot. There could be better use of the chain reaction mechanic, but still great job on your submission!
