Such a high quality game! Insane how polished it all looks.
The aesthetics of the pixel art characters in the 3D world was such a great design choice! The screen transitions on death and moving to new rooms was great too. The unintrusive menus and cool dialogues popping in to help push the story along, it all melds together like a perfect dish being served.
Switching characters has the smoothest camera movement change, especially when the characters are so far from each other. And they both play so uniquely.
The music choice helped set the mood. From the more calm, upbeat at the start to the hectic final map. It was all great deliberate choices. The SFX was superb. The steps, eye glimmer, it all screams professional.
My only gripe was that when shooting with Doki, the shot stopped a bit earlier than the object it hit, so when I first played, I didn't know barrels were getting hit.
It was quite hard too. The puzzle concept was simple with doors and turrets, but having to actually hide from line of sight and swapping characters to pull aggro made it quite fun. The ending was cool, having to move both characters at the same time. I guess Doki does walk faster than Mint XD.
Absolutely awesome game! Congrats on such a perfect game!
Cool game, love the the humor and gameplay.
I love MGS so I think the references here were pretty hilarious! They were more so Mint references than Doki, but still enjoyed what was created nonetheless. I think the gameplay can be a bit confusing. I wasn't sure if I was solving the puzzles by gaming the system or because I was doing them properly. A bit more visual guidance would've helped, but overall enjoyed the ambience of the whole thing! Was also nice to see another game focused on stealth aside from ours XD
I really like the game the ending kind of kills you if you don't move Mint and Doki at the same time.
the real chain reaction is mint's clapping being so loud and alerting the guards and shortly blasting doki in the face truly deserves a 10/10
I enjoyed the MGS theme with the stealth and references. Nice pixel art also. Will definitely try to finish, the delay of aiming and shooting made it a little hard but I can see why you need it. Great work.
Hey there! Pixel avatar art looks cool. I love the camera perspective. When the 3d view came up I was excited to progress.
Unfortunately, I got a little stuck. I think a some more information on the itch page about who I am and what I'm trying to do would be awesome. Like ... "you're Doki, and your goal is to get to the top of the building" or whatever. Haha because I was feeling lost. The instructions say "LMB to shoot" ... but when I clicked the left mouse button nothing happened. Did I need to pick up a weapon or something? Seems like I missed something. I never found anything to shoot or how to do it. Haha.
One specific suggestion: if there's no reason to want close doors, then I'd say changing it from "E to toggle" to "E to open" would be more clear. If "open" is the only goal, then why toggle? I open/closed the doors a few times and watched the same dialogue a few times ... and giving the player that option if it's not relevant was confusing to me.
Carry on! Hope you keep making the project bigger and better!
You do have to Right Click to aim before you can shoot. Just thought I'd say that haha
