Nice game, even though some enemies were difficult to aim at (I mean, it is want is expected!) Choosing between health and bullets ended up being a little sad, but gives a nice mechanic.

Thanks for the feedback. Maybe the enemies move a bit much, they do have an unintentional habit of dodging your bullets! I'm planning to do a post jam version so I will take this into account. But thanks for rating my game!

I like the concept and the visuals! The game is a lot of fun to play.

However there are some thing that I feel like could be improved. For example adding a short invincibility time after the player got hit. If there is one, then it was so little it felt like there was none.
Minor thing, but once there was an enemy I didn't see, since the HUD mostly hid it.
Also, somehow I got the game to play in slow-motion - everything happening at about half the speed. Might be that you temporarily slow down the time when an enemy gets hit, and it somehow stuck?

But over all, I had fun playing it :)

Yeah I did have some i frame time when you get hit, for about a quarter of a second. Also I have never heard of that bug happening before...? I guess I will have to look at that for the post jam version. But thanks for the feedback!

This was really fun. I did find the cursor to be distracting though. Often I would think it's an object of some sort for a split second. For the health and ammo refills, maybe add a slight flash or flicker animation to help grab the player's attention.

Sound choices are great and the music fits the game very well. And gotta love the retro 8-bit feel...so good.

Super polished, will play again !  Still in a bullet hell, pretty hard to mouse aim while dodging,

support for twin stick gamepads would be a must!

Thanks! I'll make sure to do that in a post jam version,  it's just that I haven't really played around with controllers in gamemaker before... I guess it's never too late to try!

This is by far the best entry I played this game jam so far, the style is great and it mimics perfectly an old tv form the 90s, the theme is not very strong but "I'll allow it", you got a very fun and polished game and you should be proud of that.

I can't really tell you anything else in terms of improving the gameplay itself(you did a really great job by yourself), one suggestion would be to add a Game Over screen a bit of cooldown when the player dies.

Great job dude your game, in my opinion, is the best  entry in this jam by far, good luck!

Thanks for the feedback! I do agree that I should've added a better death transition but sadly I had no time ;-;. Originally it was going to be a "enemies spawn every 10 seconds" but it felt kinda slow so I decided to change it.  But thanks for playing my game!

I like the fact that you have to choose between bullets and health, in general, a good small polished game, great job γƒΎ(β€’Ο‰β€’`)o

The only downside I see to the game, is that, because of the black and white and pixel esthetic, I usually get lost between all the bullets, and enemies, and I can't find my character into the game. But I guess that's a limitation of the esthetic you used.

This is so nice to play! The ability to choose between being aggresive and offensive with pickups is very nice, although I wished you had more ammo, or like replace ammo with a dmg boost and just give player infinite ammo. Another small thing is the cursor kinda blended in with enemies. But still, really juicy gameplay, nice visuals and vfx, really nice job!

Thanks! I thought that the low ammo would get people to use the charge shot more (because it's really fun to use) but a temporary damage boost would've been a good idea as well.

This was a really well put together little game! A really neat, polished game. I got to a score of around 60 once I knew how to refill my ammo, but I think that was just me being dumb maybe, or spamming shots too much. I really loved the charge mechanic, it felt different and really juicy.

I don't know that I liked the ammo count, but I'm crap at aiming so I like to just spam! So I'm probably not playing the game in its intended way ;) 

The audio fits really well - unfortunately I can't rate you very highly on it because you didn't make it, but it was chosen well. Loved the CRT effect. Overall a really consistent, polished game and I think it'd do really well in an arcade!

Very well put together game! The only real issue I've found was that I frequently lost sight of my own character, I guess it could just be a different color to stand out. Other than that, it's great, looks great and sounds like it should as well, love it.

Thanks for the feedback! I think maybe some more detail in the character or something probably would've made it stand out more but i kinda wanted to stick to the 1 bit theme (unlike my friend who made the thumbnail)

nice game! controls feels nice, gameplay loop is addictive. The 8bit sounds fit well, however some are annoying (like the charging sound). The music is nice too. The difficulty is well balanced, so yeah, good work!

This is a really fun game, great job. 

The charge feels so satisfying, but it's hella risky, guess that fits the name of the game so much xD The art style also is pretty cool. Nothing much else to say, really consistent game.

Really fun game! I loved the audio and visuals, they were really nice and unique! The difficulty curve was also quite nice and it was very easy to get into! When I first played though, I was confused because I wasn't able to shoot, but then I realized I had no ammo. Maybe a better indicator for that would be nice? Something like a "no ammo" sound when you try to shoot? Also, how the theme is incorporated isn't very clear. Overall, really fun and polished game, I'm surprised you got this done in a week lol

Really cool, love the visuals and the execution. I only wish the ammo pickups gave you a TINY bit more ammo and allowed you to keep going a little longer. It feels like the game is less of a bullet hell and more of a "kite enemies around until you have the ability to shoot".... Hell. 

I'm not good at naming things.
