I died quite a bit! Said quite my fair share of curse words in the process!

But it kept me going until the very end. It was fun, the music was really good, and I very much appreciated there being a checkpoint if you died to the boss, you get to start right before the boss.

I also streamed playing it a little earlier, if you want to hear all the curses live in action!

Consequence: If you get hit, you die. Simple yet convincing. I liked playing your game! I really liked the explosions and artwork the game feel was awesome!

Great retro visuals! Not liking the rng deaths from the blue men tho

Sweet retro goodness !

I really enjoyed the music in this one, those are some chiptune bangers, the spritework for all the jets, helis and boats are also very well done. This has a sort of Raiden mixed with 1942 sort of vibe to it which worked quite well.

THe multiple phases of the boss also feel very satisfying to destroy, and i like the fact that the enemy planes attacking during the boss are telegraped by showing them take off on the carrier runway, a very nice attention to detail.

my only slight gripe is that the base enemy bullets (the small red ones) are a bit too small and thus can catch you a bit off guard at times.

Other than that no real issue with the game this is quite solid for a jam entry as well.

Great job :)

Thanks for the feedback! Raiden was my direct inspiration so its cool to see that you picked up on that.

No problem, haha well the realistic jets style and the instruments sound on the music kinda made me think of it so its cool to see this was your actual inspiration ^^

Those damn planes flying from the sides keep getting me!

I obviously love everything with airplanes so this is an absolute 11/10!!

And the music, absolute banger! Especially the game over music.

Hi,

I like the retro feel that the game gives me. The sound is great.

I would like to see a high score feature and a better implementation of the theme "Consequences."

Overall, it's a great and fun game :)

Keep up the great work!

old school =) very unforgiving but in a good way.  I love the art, great job on the sprite work!  The raptor is DISGUSTINGLY beautiful XD  well done!

Nice. I just wish there was a warning before enemies come from behind.

Sounds are amazing! Also loved the art style.

It would be nice to have a more flexible gameplay where you can rotate the plane because enemies can come not only from the front, but also from the right, left, or behind.

Overall nice game, great job!

WOW this was my favourite so far and I have been having a good crack at playing the entries.

First the sound track is AMAZING it had me get straight in the zone of being a cool fighter pilot straight out of top gun.

Next I will comment your colour choices everything was on point for some reason I found my self admiring your static sea it was beautiful. I loved the gold on the black fighter and noticed the rest of the sprites had equally quality choices and contrast.

It had an excellent retro feel and even the death music took me back to the 80s, on that not it was unforgiving but thats ok this quality game has me coming back.

For some reason I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS despite some frustrating ennemies that appear at the bottom of the screen!

Graphics are awesome, music is well chosen, I want more than one life !!!!!!

As a convention if you make a "die and retry" with situations that you should memorize (such as ennemies suprising you spawning from the bottom, or bottom left, right, you should do some kind a 'quick restart' with a number of lives, starting from the beginning with just 1 life is too painful.

Such a good vibe. Never had so much fun shooting a ship!

Damn! that would be a hit on Atari!

It was a true pleasure to play this game

The music oozes of 80s arcade game, I love that! Gfx is simple but fills it's purpose. Noticed that enemies thar are exploding still can fire bullets. A nice, classic shooter with some un-expected enemies sneaking up from behind.

Very nice and you can see that the game was made with heart. It also has a lot of challenge because there is no life, you just lie down -> and I like challenges. Good job :D

Good job! You've done a nice job on the sprites, and its cool to see a more challenging bulletstorm where theres no health bar to sponge damage.
