Liked the overall design of the tutorial. Very nice. Tho there needs to be some indicator over whether you are making the correct decision with bombs or not. Some element of skill.

Otherwise, good job.

The texts need some "look at camera" script :)

In the tutorial, I believe I got soft locked after finding the three bombs. The ground broke, but there wasn't any instruction to progress. Getting to the actual game, I found the completely RNG bomb placement a bit odd. I was trying to search for connections between the hole color and proximity to other mines, but neither seemed to affect the placement of bombs (however they could be some ways for you to make digging more interesting). I also found it weird that S moves you forwards, being unable to move backwards made turning a bit weird.

Good job tho with the tutorial, it's very simple, but also very interactive. The only thing that confused me was the mines, I'd presumed that I had health and the third mine would kill me, not drop me to the next layer. I also really liked the menu transition, how the shovel digs up the button and then the hole envelops the screen, pretty cool.

Nice tutorial! It introduces the player very slowly by making them simply walk around, which is good.

At first, I wasn't very entertained by the gameplay, but after you get into the shop loop, it's better. The shop seemed fairly well optimized too.

I don't love the concept of the purely random nature of finding the mines; if you could somehow make the player think while they're choosing holes to dig, that would be awesome. Maybe add some variable terrain or things as well?

The graphics were a bit unenticing, but I'm sure you could improve on them if you wanted to.

Good job overall! Nice atmosphere and sfx.

Hop you play my game

I realy enjoyed yours

Great job with the graphics and atmosphere of the game! It took a while for me to grasp the controls as 'w' and 's' were appearing to do the same thing. Still, solid gameplay overall.

Your game is not bad, I liked the development system, but the level looks very poor. Maybe it was worth adding caves, so that there was an incentive to pump a character to penetrate these caves. And even if you did it in the style of diving, then the need for oxygen would be better explained. I also liked the tutorial in which you teach everything you need. I did not like the graphics. I understand that you did not have time for this, but the appearance of the game means a lot. Also, the soundtrack was very meager. Hope you do not mind my review. No matter what, your game is good and brought me a fan. And she completely solves the theme.

Cool stuff! Really like the character model and the animations look really nice! Might be cool if you didn't have to sit as long when you're waiting to see what you dug up from a hole but still fun overall!

You can move the shop everywhere you want!!!!!!! 10/10

I laughed out loud at this comment.

Neat concept, though a completely luck based game mechanic isn't the best game design. I also suggest making the level a bit more interesting by placing things like rocks, stalactites, etc. in the level. I still enjoyed playing it and left a rating. :)

Cool and fun game. Amazing character animations too. Great work!

Nice mining game where you have to earn money to spent it on items in the shop. I like the idea. The envoirement is very cosy. Audio and game music fits perfectly.

There's no texture on the main player (who is very out of place stylistically), there seems to be no strategy besides trial and error, holding space to dig is tedious and boring, holding "S" to go backwards made my character move forwards (among other massive problems where movement is a huge slog),  the stretched out ground texture (also in the menu) is gross, and ultimately there's nothing fun about this game. I'm not just being mean based on the review you left me, or being out here for revenge - I genuinely spent some time on this game because I wanted to see what you made (the rate 4 rate) then had to go eat before coming back to the PC to rate your game (already had all this in mind), and honestly, it's just not a good game.

Props on finishing though, and it's an accomplishment all on its own to have made something for the jam! :D

It's Minesweeper 3D and that's amazing... Nice premise. But something weird happened on my playthrough that I don't know if you're aware yet - There was a pile of dirt next to the shop. When I started to dig it, it opened the shop, but I continued to dig. Once I stopped digging, the shop menu didn't deactivate anymore, then I had to restart the game. Besides that, great job, man. Keep it up!

Developer(+1)

Yeah, the shop being on top of dirt piles is definitely wonky.  Fun fact: you can push the shop just by walking into it.  Thanks for playing :)

Good game, keep going :D

I like the concept of uncovering gold or uncovering a mine, but for me the game at its core is quite repetitive. Maybe instead of holding space to dig out a hole you had to do something else. Also you should make the "S" key walk backwards. Give it some polish and I definitively think there is a market for it!

Nice Job! i really liked it!

Great job! With a bit more polish, you've really got something here!

Developer

Thanks!  If I can ask, what specifically would like to have seen have some more polish to it?

Submitted(+1)

Sorry, I think what I meant was elaboration. Polish is important, for example not using the Unity character controller haha, but if you're not an artist like me, then it's hard to find good assets that aren't recognizable.

So obviously the most important thing is the mechanic. At its core, you have a game where you pick a hole at random, hope that you struck gold, and then use the gold to buy things. You should look up Motherlode as a reference, it's basically something similar.

The game is a bit dark, which makes sense, but you only see a flat floor. You could look into using the unity terrain generator to give the floor a bit more depth, or use a normal map on the floor.

Those are just a few thoughts, but I'm definitely a "grind it out and buy shit" kind of player, so your game fits my playstyle :)

Developer

Awesome!  Thanks
