Fun concept, I think you can take it far with some improvements (many times the hole isn't onscreen so I can't tell where I should be shooting, the angle of bounce off a wall should match the angle into the wall so you can pull off trick shots).  I actually liked the music!

Developer

Glad you enjoyed the game or at least the music. Thank you for playing! I'll keep your feedbacks in mind when fixing the game in future updates. Look forward to it!

The game has a great idea, it has elements that enable the creation of a wide variety of levels. On the gameplay side, maybe make the ball go be a little bit faster would help, sometimes we have to wait too long to make the next play.

The art is simple, but fits very well with the game.

I liked the attention given to the game's sound effects, but maybe a sound to notify that it's time to play again would be a great addition.

The music in the game is a little bit tiring, a soft music could be better in this type of game, but that might be just me.

And I also felt a lack of explanation for the game's controls, it turns out to be a little confusing, which made my gameplay somewhat difficult.

But overall is a very fun game to play, I really enjoyed my time playing it, Congrats!!

Thanks for playing! I'll fix the issues in the next update after the jam. Look forward to it!

Great idea to mix-up the golf formula! If I were to make any suggestions, the controls do feel a little floaty after the first shot as in I am not sure when I'm able to make my next stroke. A simple visual indicator can help.
Additionally, the ball not being at the center of the screen all the time restricted some angles. Maybe the free CineMachine tool in Unity could help you keep the ball in the center while allowing some peeking to see the level. There's actually a Brackey's video on CineMachine.

Still, very solid game, I really liked the aesthetics and again appreciated the added element of destructible obstacles. Great job!

Thank you very much! I'll certainly make use of your suggestions. The issues you mentioned will be fixed in the update after the jam. Please look forward to it!

I honestly wish the ball would come back to a state when I can shoot it a little more quickly XD. Along with that, the music felt a little annoying. Levels were designed decently though. Good game either way :)

Thank you :)

For feedback, as with most golfing games I play I end up wishing the ball would hurry up and finish it's movement so I can get to the next run. It gets a bit annoying when the ball is just barely inching forward and I have to wait for it to completely stop. Also, it wasn't always clear when I would be able to shoot again since it was possible to start aiming and hit the ball again before the line renderer would show up. But anyways, good entry! (also, for pixel art make sure to set the compression to none and filtering to point on the sprite or spritesheet. That will fix the blurry scenery)

Developer(+1)

I'll try to fix the controls for the ball in the next update after the jam. I really forgot about the sprite compression which made them really blurry. Thank you for your advices, i really appreciate them.

Hey there, nice little golfing game. I think golfing games with a certain theme will always be in demand, so a dungeon theme is pretty cool in my opinion! I got two tips for you on improving the game: I experienced some weird bouncing on my ball, which made playing this much harder than expected. I expected angle in > angle out, but the ball would sometimes just bounce the wrong way on a wall, which was a bit frustrating. I also think theres a little too little friction on the ball, which makes it so it takes very long between strokes, and it gets a bit boring over time, so I'd definitely change that a bit. Other than that, nice little game, hope you found the feedback useful!

Developer

Thank you for the suggestions, I really appreciate them. I'll be sure to fix and update the game after the jam.

Hey! Usually I don't give this much feedback in my reviews, but as someone who also made a golfing game, I would like to take this opportunity to give some specific feedback. I think you should give the ball some more drag, as right now, it seems to travel very long distances and slide around more than expected. When the golfball hits the hole, instead of instantly moving it to the hole, have it linear interpolate to the center of the hole and also linear interpolate down in size a little bit so it looks like it fell in, or create an animation that you rotate to where the ball hit so it looks like a smooth transition into falling in.

Also, I think you should create a deadzone where once the ball is going slow enough, the player can re-fire it, so they dont have to wait until it is totally still.

I hope you understand I am just letting you know these because I just went through all the struggles of creating a golfing game, I am not trying to be rude! You created a great foundation for a golfing game in only a week! Great job!

Developer

Thanks for giving the effort to give me such a good feedback! I have also played your game and found that you really nailed the controls for the ball. I'll be sure to fix it in the next update after the jam. I hope my game could be as fun as yours one day.

I like the look of your golf game a lot.  Unfortunately I think this has a lot of hallmarks of a bad golf games.  Things like wonkey physics, narrow passage-ways, slow movement of the ball, power expectations not meeting the actual force that was applied to the ball, and those blocks that send you back to the beginning are very annoying.  Still, I don't think this is aweful or anything.  I like it, but it does need a lot of work.

Developer

I will work on fixing the game. Thank you very much!

A very nice golfe game. It very challenging.

There are something could be improved. Are you NOT using a circle collider for the ball? It feels like not bouncing the right direction sometimes. And the ball is too slippery that it takes too long to stop moving. Waiting too long for it to totally stop.

Developer

I did use a circle collider for the ball. I'm still figuring out why the bounce was off too. I'll be sure to fix it on the next update after the jam. Thank you very much for playing and giving feedbacks!

Really great challenge and I love the artwork and color scheme!

One thing I might recommend changing is either a) let the player hit the ball before it’s slowed down or b) add a fast-forward feature so there’s less waiting.

I am not a golfer but I tried my best. Thanks for putting the time into this one, the polish really shows! Very fun.

Developer

Thanks for trying your best in playing it and giving the recommendations! I'll be sure to put them in future updates.

It's an interesting idea but really lacks a few things. Most of the time the camera didn't really show the  most important  part.  I really wish there was a  mini map, so I could plan my  shots in advance and don't rely purely on luck. Also, sometimes the drag indication didn't come, but I was still able to move the ball. And the last little thing  was perhaps that the background / unreachable things were too lame. Everything is just empty which can  work but  makes it a bit weird in my opinion.

Developer (1 edit) (+1)

I first thought that the camera not showing some things make it better to surprise player and annoy them a bit but maybe it was a bit too much. A good advice about the mini map and the background. I'll be sure to make them and the controls better in future updates. Thank you for playing!

Except for the controls, which are kinda cluncky, overall it is a good game^^ Good job!
