How does the game fit the theme?
I interpreted it Ironically e.g. "What could possibly go wrong" - and then everything does go wrong.
What code and assets did you not make from scratch during the jam (if any)?
All Art and Sound assets made by other people - I have licenses for all of them.
Some infrastructure code re-use (Handling Audio, Leaderboard Connection checks, etc). Player Controller is based on another Game I made (heavily modified for this game)

Great little shooter/bullet hell. Excellent work -- well done!
Honestly, this game is very fun. What made me love it is the fact that I really enjoy arcade games and competition. By adding a leaderboard, you made me fall in love with this game. The gameplay is good, simple, and has that "déjà vu" feel in a good way, the difficulty was just perfect, and it’s wonderful.
For this jam, this is one of the games I’ve had the most fun with.
Strengths:
* Completed UI and arts.
* Nice sounds and music.
* Fun gameplay: I've noticed that enemies predict my patterns when I use them too often.
* Story? If you like dialogues... There is a goal and a leaderboard, this is double motivation.
Weaknesses:
* The enemies is died and nothing happened. A hint about warp could help those who skip dialogues.
* The HUD is not very conveniently located, usually all the scales are centered.
Thank you for the constructive feedback.
Happy to hear you enjoyed the enjoyed playing my game, as well its aesthetic.
I'll be updating the game once the Jam is over and will be implementing some additional hints for the warp ability. I may also add an additional health bar above the player to make it easier to see your health in combat.
Fellow spaceship shooter developer! NICE JOB! Where to begin... You were smart adding a leaderboard. I could not stop playing until I ended up as #2 (at the time of writing this lol). That was fun. It also make me keep playing until the end. The story you created also made me want to get to the end. Of course I wanted to see Grandma. The dialogue added an entirely new layer to the game that made it much more fun to play. Being able to skip the dialogue when replaying is such a nice feature btw.
I haven't even talked about the gameplay yet! It was really well done. Nice level of challenge but also beatable if you come back and practice a bit. I really love that you have to "lead" your bullets while moving to stay on target. It adds a bit of strategy. This was a really fantastic and well polished game. One of my favorites I've played so far.
Incredible! Well done! The vintage vibe and UI are great, though I would appreciate more visual feedback when hitting enemies.
Nice arcadeshooter with a good told story. The visuals and the audio are a good match to the game and overall, the game is pretty polished!
Good work!
Wow that was an incredible game, I had so much fun with it! Definitely one of my favorites from this jam! I'm proud to say I have the current high score haha!
My only suggestion is to make the space to dodge a bit more clear the first time because I accidentally skipped over the dialogue and didn't know I could use it, maybe just a small text above the ship that disappears after using it for the first time.
Other than that I had a great time! I especially like the AI predicting your path and shooting ahead of you.
Thank you for the feedback. Congratulations on getting the highest score!
I get what you mean with the space dodge being unclear. I was thinking of highligthing controls text in a different colour to make it stand out (for some reason I forgot you can do that).
Happy to hear you enjoyed playing my game. The AI predictive behaviour basically revolves around looking at the players position/s in the last 0.1-1.0 seconds and extrapolating from there. I found it surprisingly simple yet effective.
The presentation on this is really polished! More than what I've seen from even multiple-people teams. It looks and plays frantically, with music to match the tempo. Very impressed with this.
That's actually great and polished! Good mechanics and controls, plays smoothly, fun dialogues, dynamic gameplay...Had fun playing and would happily play some more stages!
Thank you for the great contribution! it plays really smooth. Especially for a 1man adventure this feels very polished
Great job on the game. Game is very well polish for a game created within a week.
Gameplay is very fun, definitely will be back to challenge the leaderboard!
