How does the game fit the theme?
Because you foolishly try to feed zoo animals human food, since nothing can go wrong.

What code and assets did you not make from scratch during the jam (if any)?
All the pictures are cutouts from historical books and paintings. All in the public domain. I also reused some code to search files in Godot.

How many people worked on the game?

What a silly game XD. Love the music, art and the writing. The gameplay was fun and stressful too! took me a while to realise how to create the recipes and figure out that abomination was a dog lol. Love getting cops after me too. Great stuff team!

I would like to be an octopus to survive longer.

I liked the game ! Good job.

Think it could be improve by putting the recipes inside the game and add an ability to throw away the current mix in the plate

Super funny game. I love the animals and it's just an overall really funny concept for a game. I liked figuring out how to make the different meals that the animals wanted, it was fun. The end screen where the cops take you away is so good. Great work!!

This game was so much fun! I actually laughted multiple times. However the UI was sometimes a bit confusing. For example, I wished that the button to open and close the menu was a simple toggle that stays in place. The visuals look very silly and the music matches perfectly the pace of the game. Well done!

Is there another ending other than getting caught? I did that three times in a row and am quite uncertain, but I digress. The game is quite funny. Why an elephant likes eating fried tilapia I'll never know, but it's quite a funny churning out food for the animals. I ended up using a separate cheat sheet just to help myself find the correct recipe, but I still ended up doing 13 animals only.

For some criticism, I would say you 100% should put the recipe in the game, and probably on the same sheet you put the food preferences too. I don't even know the recipe exists in the first place. It feels strange seeing animals such as dogs that prefer bones and require two bones at once, and the sprite also changed into slop for some reason, which threw me off at first.

Anyway, this is quite an interesting game. Good job!

There's two more, one where you go to the hospital, one where you get arrested, and one where you win. You need a final score of 17 or more to win (Score is animals + remaining handsx2).

And something the we didn't explain well is that the Dog, Rabbit, Tiger and Penguin just need a raw ingredient, but will accept anything with that has it. So, that should help.

And remember to use your junk food.

It was bit confusing at the start, but my ambition kicked in and I wanted to feed all the animals. It felt frustrating when I wanted to give e.g. meat directly to the animal but accidentally dragged it over the plate. An option to remove from the plate and making it visible what is on the plate would be great. But it felt really good when I finally got the endscreen that told me I fed all animals. I loved the funny setting and art style :)

Developer

I personally tweaked the Victory screen because I thought it needed to be better. So, I'm glad somebody mentioned it.

pretty fun, I think maybe the game could ease you in a bit better because I was lost at first trying to figure out what the recipes were and what I was supposed to do

Cool game, love how the rat is bigger than everything, even the elephant lol

Cool game! I really like the artstyle and it was really addicting trying to get better and better scores, though it was a bit unclear as to how many animals you were supposed to feed in order to win. (btw can anyone tell me what the gormless, long-eared rat-thing is supposed to be? I couldn't figure it out for the life of me)

You need 17 points by the end of the song to reach the good ending. I chose this 10 minutes before subbmiting at 4am so it's probably no balanced.
I think you're referring to the Two Legged Dog? It's from "The Garden of Earthly Delights" by Hieronymus Bosch, you can see it at the middle right next to an albino giraffe.

This is such a cute and frantic game all in one. Really loved the music and the speed of it.

I do wonder what takes a long time when you click on 'Play' but whatever it is, it makes sure the game runs fine. I would love to know the tips and tricks because my game in browser is suffering.

Developer(+1)

When you press play the game loads around 1200 frames of animation for the animals. Which is why it lags. But the actual logic is super simple, so once it has finished loading everything the game runs smoothly.
If your game is suffering try using your engine's built in profiler to see when lag-spikes happen and go from there.

Cute fun little game that would be much much better with all the quality of life improvements viperzer0 mentioned in a comment below, exactly my thoughts. Especially the being able to take ingredients off of the plate when you put the wrong thing. Overall very good job for one week's jam!

Neat idea. Love the art and the cutscene. It takes some memorizing and also have to stop and check the food menu, which I don't think is particularly engaging.

I enjoyed playing the game :)

I found it humorous that a fly can take your hand, but I guess it was human sized. Nice work.

I had trouble noticing the recipes, but besides that, it was awesome to play, and I felt really engaged by the theme.

the overall is great, fun and very good looking. congrats!

Love the art style and animals (love the size of the rat btw)! Very unique and fits the theme well, great job!

The theme here is really unique, ended up losing my hands during my first try haha. I did enjoy the music and thought it went well with the game overall.
