Looks like we had the same base idea. I would say fits the theme perfectly ;) And very nice art style and fun gameplay :)

Nice! Best 3d game I've seen so far. The assets are really appealing, the concept fits well with the theme, it's nice and challenging (I finished on almost 0 seconds!) and it has great sound design and music! Great work!

Fun game, the visuals are great, I love the dash. The game could very easly be expanded!

good job bro. 3d assets in a week great work.

Thanks :) That's why being a team of two with an artist and a programmer can be awesome for gamejams!

The art in this game is awesome! Well done.

Developer

Glad you thought so, thanks for playing :D

Wow, gorgeous game that fits the theme really well! Looks really polished and is a really complete game with everything art, music, sound fitting well together. I'm very impressed!
One thing that made it a bit hard for me was the really low frame rate on my laptop in the browser. Having an option to reduce the polygon-count or something like this would possibly rectify that.
Great job!

Developer(+1)

I agree we should have had a couple of graphics settings for less powerful PC's, but sadly there was no time for that in the end.  Next time!

Thank you so much for the feedback!

I like this game!

I really like the hud, it really looks like a ship's steering wheel. My main problem with the game is that the goal of the level is always exactly the amount of trash in the level. This means that if you missed 1, you'd have to look the entire map to find it, like finding a needle in a haystack; it'd be better if there were a bit more than needed so finding the last ones is easier.

Eitherway, really really cool game, specially for a game jam! Nice work!

Developer

I see your point, although the idea was that we wanted you to be able to completely clean the ocean and not have some left :p Maybe having an indicator for the last three or so would've been a good idea, as the aim of the game isn't finding but collecting the trash.

Thanks a lot for the feedback, and thanks for playing!

I thought this game was pretty clever, I enjoyed the "more you have the slower you go" take on the theme. The animations looked good and overall the game was fun.

If you wanted to improve, I suggest changing the camera movement, it was hard to control the camera and often times I spent to long trying to fix the camera rather then playing.

Cool entry, check out my game if you get a chance!

Developer

Indeed, quite a few people have commented on the camera, there are definitely ways I could've improved on that. Thanks for the feedback!

Awesome game, VERY polished! Your art and music were top notch. Game felt amazing, very much like I was steering a tiny ship on water. Only tricky thing I ran into was the camera movement. It might just be a personal preference, but slowing down rotation speed just a bit would make make movement perfect for me. Overall, very well done!

Developer(+1)

Indeed the camera movement was perhaps too high, I didn't consider the fact that I have an exceptionally low mouse sensitivity set to default. And I really appreciate the love for the music and the art :D

Thanks a lot for playing :)

That's a really polished 3d game for a jam! It's really charming game, the kraken got me off guard first, but then i got used to it >D. The effort you put in details on the HUD, title screen, game over and stuff relly makes me wanna do more in the next jam I join in.

If you could check my game, it would be awesome!

Cheers!

I love how rare 3D games are in these types of jams. I really enjoyed this and found your mouth sound effects quite charming. At first I was a little confused by the kraken-meter but I quickly found out what that was all about XD. I could honestly see myself playing this game on my phone. Overall nice and charming game.

Developer

It does make a lot of sense for 3D games to be so rare, it seems borderline impossible if you're by yourself aha.

Thank you for the feedback :)

small and charming collecting game (: graphics are really sweet too! consider taking a look at my game as well!

Developer

Thanks for playing!

Wow! Impressive graphics. The camera and the movement of the boat are a bit confusing at first, but then you get used to it. I really liked that the Kraken existed, it gives a special touch to the game.

Excellent game. I imagine it took you a long time to make the 3d models of the ship and the fuel station. You have a job 10/10

Developer

Thanks! It did indeed take the entire week to make the models, as we are a two person team, this would've taken up way too much time without a dedicated artist working on the game ^^

A great solid game that feels small but fun to complete, with a charming style to bring it all together.

- Favorite part is the HUD, really brings you in to the experience and is well designed, enhances the time interacting with the game.
The controls feel smooth and natural to interact with, simple but easy to navigate and the dash gives you that extra bit of focus as you play.
Seeing the kraken popup gives a great sense of urgency as you try and get everything done.

- I see you already mentioned it elsewhere, but just reiterating if you get time the death when you're taken by the kraken would really benefit from more impact/understanding.
It would be nice if the areas for you to travel to for burning/refueling were more visible, like a green glowing plane up in the area instead of just the white outline.

Really appreciate the detailed feedback, that's super helpful :)

Excellent. Really polished, and I think you really took to heart the idea of making something simple and elegant, rather than overscoping your game in the time we had available. Really, really good job.

Developer

Oh man, how awesome to see you comment here :D Thanks for the kind words, I really appreciate it!

Really nice little game! Loved the art (specially the UI), music and SFX. Great controls and level design!

Developer

Thanks, I'm glad you enjoyed!

It was a cute game, I like this one. Art looks charming. I didn't understand its relation with the theme but it was a nice experience.

My only feedback would be to adding some gameplay elements or power ups to accelerate the game. Right now it is a bit slow for my taste.

I don't like anonymous votes, so here is my rating.

Keep up the good work!

Developer

Thanks a lot! As for the theme, there are a few ways you can interpret it: less trash in the ocean is better for the planet or less trash on your boat is more speed, ... And I agree, adding powerups would have been a good idea.

Submitted(+1)

Nice concept! Sometimes I got stuck. I have fuel, the octopus leg appear next to me, and after that I cant move (before the hit). It happened twice, both times I was next to the trash deposit station, around the border. Good work, the art style and screen images are wonderful! Are those some computer aided hand driven images?

Developer

Ah, now that you mention it like this, it does seem like a bug. The idea was that once the kraken meter got to 100 (after it's been on red for a while), the kraken has caught up to you and you die. In theory, we wanted this to be some animation where the kraken kills you no matter where you are, but this didn't work in practice (lack of time and coding skills, mostly). So what happens now is that the default kraken animation plays, and the player is set to immobile so you can't escape it. Essentially, this should have been a sort of animation where the kraken's tentacles wrap around the ship so you get crushed, so it would've been more clear why the ship suddenly stops moving. I appreciate the feedback, thanks for playing!

Looks fantastic .. I did not expect to get octopussed :)

Developer

Thanks! All credit to Nicolas Vandendriessche for all the fantastic art made in such a short amount of time, it was awesome to work with him :D

Pretty fun! The controls had me needing some time to get used to but other than that, the game is pretty good!

Thanks, I'm glad you enjoyed it! :)
