I found the GF! Find my video review:

19:34 - Greedy Gus

Pretty cool idea and level design!

Developer

Thanks.

Time to make your day :)

Didn't notice any difference between web build and linux build. Are you playing a video?

Developer

I watched all of the videos but the only difference I could find is that when you choose the one where HTML5 uses one gun. He falls down the stairs. But in the web version. Flash shoots HTML5.

Wrong thread bud, I was talking about your game! What is supposed to happen at the end? I only saw blue and heard a bit of music.

Developer

I did notice. However, In the end. It would have said

Greedy Gus found his girlfriend, but they are stuck in the tower.

To be continued.

Special thanks to BlackThornProd for hosting this game jam.

And thank you to everyone who played this game.

It was very tough to make.

But due to rendering issues, the ending is all blue. Play the Downloadable versions next time.

I downloaded the linux version, but its the same there! That's why I was asking

Developer

Oh, I don't know why this error is on web and linux builds. This happened to many of my games. This might be because if a corrupts  file error.

Submitted(+1)

I was wondering if you play a video file! Or is it simply some scene that you show?

Developer

That is a scene.

Submitted(+1)

weird, but ok, I won't bother you about this anymore.

Developer

Thanks.

I like the idea of the game and the mechanics. The art is good! Soo in general everything is good! Good job! Keep it up!

P.S. Sometimes the player stuck (when you jump). I don’t know what you have used but if it was 2D Tilemap Collider then you can check the Used By Composite, this group all boxes like a unic box and the problem is fixed.

Developer

Thanks. But I did use composite collider. It must be because of the snout of the pig.

Submitted(+1)

Oooh okay got it.

Have you changed the Rigidbody2D to Kinematic?

Or add FixedUpdate (if you don’t have).

Sometimes it has happened when you use box collider try something else like a sphere or capsule.

Developer

Thanks, but I don't want the snout going through the wall.

Submitted(+1)

The player's collider gets you stuck in some places sometimes, but I still had fun :)

Developer (1 edit)

Thank you for the feedback.

The core mechanic is great but I think it could have been exploited more, it have some puzzle potential for example.

The platforming was a bit too easy too, but that's better than the opposite, as a lot of games from jams are way too difficult.

The piggybank theme is well thought and goes well with the mecanic, and the main caracter is cute.

I would greatly appreciate if you rate me back!

Developer

Thanks for the feedback. I will play your game.

Submitted(+1)

I really liked this. There were some quirks with the movement, I didn't like that you could hang on a platform with your face, but apart from that, jumping and movement felt good. I liked the use of the theme, though I have played a couple of other games with very similar mechanics.

Also, it dawned on me about half way through, that you play as a piggy bank that jumps higher because there's less money in it... nice touch!

Developer

Thanks.

The game was very fun to play and it felt very polished!! Do keep in mind tho that backtracking can feel boring to most players, so try to avoid it when it's possible :3

Ps. I see that JudgeClark didn't really liked the "feature", but i personally really like the fact that when the little piggy bank can almost reach the platform, his nose gets stuck on the wall: it gives the game an unique charm to it!! (^D^)

Developer(+1)

Thank you for the feedback. I will remember that next time I make a platformer.

Submitted(+1)

I think the game is ok, But if you had more choice and decisions troughout the game it would have been better.

Developer

Thank you. I learned a lot from the Game Jam.

Nice game!

Developer

Thanks

I really liked the purple blobs. Cool idea to have them jump with the player. Jumping feels floaty, it might help if you increase gravity while falling.

Developer

Thank you.

Great game, nice story, good concept, great character! Overall amazing game! Good job :)

Developer(+1)

Thank you.

Nice little platformer.  I think it needs a few more enemies for variety and also I don't like how it puts you right back to the start if you take a hit. Nice take on the theme but I didn't understand why I'm giving up coins for jump height?  You could add in the option to spend the coins on perhaps jump height or speed or perhaps buy a tool/key to open a door hence spending money gives you more. Either that or changes coins for items that weigh you down making your lighter when you lose them. Hope the feedback was useful.

Developer (1 edit)

Out of the 7 enemies intended to appear in the game only 2/7 aka the green and purple slime. Also, I set my standards before I worked on the game. So thank you.

Submitted(+1)

Nice one, I do like relaxed platformers without too much panic involved
I think I'd make the Gus's hitbox square to his legs but that's all :)

Developer

Sorry, I learned that platformer characters should be thin. But Thanks.

Developer

Alert. The web version is a bit slow and has the ending not render. For better experience. Please play the downloadable version.

Submitted(+1)

It was a bit slow but i liked the visuals!

Developer

That is for the web version. The downloadable version is faster.

Submitted(+1)

I found it a little bit too slow. I honestly don't think that being stuck in the wall was intentional - it seems to me it was a bug that couldn't get fixed.

I didn't find it challenging enough, sorry.

Don't get me wrong, feedback will allow us to get better. Thanks!

Developer

Thank you. If it's one thing I learned about platformers. Make the character thin. Also, The game is suppose to be simple.

Submitted(+1)
