Game is very dark at night, which is great. I love when nights are as dark as they should be, especially on my OLED. However, there is significant color banding that is quite distracting. To be clear, it doesn't appear to be a bug, just an issue with the game/game assets/implementation. Some examples below.
Hi, I and the creator of the "Tutorial Secrets" thread have had the same issue. Ive recently found out that the way to prevent this is to turn on your player physics damage, itll give you a bit of damage but force you to crouch instead of ragdolling when you fall onto the boxes. You wont need it again afterwards, so grabbing the core(which is still there, just in a different location), ragdolling, then switching back to no player physics damage wont cause further issues.

Add your screen resolution to %LOCALAPPDATA%\VotV\Assets\res.txt and select it in settings. If you don't have Assets folder, then just launch the game as administrtor and it should appear
cheapest fix is to buy the coffee chocolate bars in bulk and never sleep or buy a coffee machine and also never sleep but the worst fix is to reset and restart. personally I tested the coffee chocolate bar and 4 can get you around the entire map if you walk but if you drive you can do way more with the saved time with all tasks plus reset all power, sleeping actually wasted money for me when most of my gains are sd.calall and repairing whatever broke ( I will never buy server stability over money profit) and doing doing daily hashes gives the bonus needed to distract myself with the constant happenings and creepy ambiance
i've got the same problem and I also can't eat anything. I think my save is effectively softlocked because I just die over and over.
I'm pretty late game (40+ days) and I noticed that my fully upgraded radar keeps sounding off every few seconds. Watching the map, nothing changes except that it seems to miss a single entity every cycle before recounting it on the next try. Kind of feels like I'm working in a McDonalds right now with the fry machine going nuts.
Gosh, would I kill to have some kind of "silence for 10 minutes" feature.
In the version 07_0006 build, the door from all antennas have vanished and jumped to 07_0011 with still no door. I don't know if it is correlated to the bug of double door or not.
In 07_0011, I have this phantom raised floor in the hangar that there isn't in the "previous" 07_0009 build. Edit: It disappeared.
Not sure if this is a bug or a strange event where the radar sound entity difference with no apparent red entity in range, and I think it's annoying. (day 20, image not representing the scale of bug)
When I bought the coffee machine, the cord plug clipped through the floor for quite a lot. I manage to fix with a secre.
Entities on the edge of the radar will often trip the alarm multiple times by going in and out of it's detection range. The colour of the numbers tell you when a new entity is registered, and when one leaves. Red = +1 Entity - Yellow = -1 Entity
As for plugs clipping through the floor - every plug-in appliance has a "Retract" function when looking at the base of the cord (where the wire is connected).

Edit: Turns out this is not the fix. My Tower is "All Fine" and "Online" both on the tower and from tw.check. Back to the search!
I had a similar situation, try running around, poking different things. It helped me to poke the signals, maybe I need to open the lockers/doors
If you got a tooltip saying something along the lines of "I don't want to sleep... I feel a presence" you need to check around the base and/or check the lockers.
Wow! has anyone had my problem? Most likely, if you set the gamma to 2, it will become a little better, but this will not solve the problem. I play on Linux, it helped me install and configure DXVK and install DirectX in wine (winetricks to help). I don't know if you're using Linux, but most likely the problem is DirectX.

I solved the problem but I don’t think it will help you.. But for people like me who play with Linux through wine, here is the solution:
Use wine-ge & lutris. I'm using wine-ge-8-26-x86_64.
DXVK and VKD3D must be enabled in the runner options.
Be sure to install "VisualC++", "wine-mono" and ".net". Wine itself will offer them for installation when the application starts.
I also recommend using a custom wine directory. In my case, it is located in "/home/fox/Games/.wine" so that it does not get mixed up in the standard directory and nothing breaks.
When creating a new wine directory, it turned out that there is no need to install direct x (but the installation helps to fix tearing). Apparently because of DXVK. Perhaps installing Vulkan will help those who use Windows? I can't give a guarantee. Or perhaps you don't have VisualC++ installed. Anyway, on Linux I was able to solve the problem. I also use Arch, GNOME and flatpak for lutris.
Hi, A terrible issue happened to me ... My save has been corrupted without explanation...
I played 2 days ago, everything was fine.
A few minutes ago, I launched the game and I wasn't able to see the 'slot' of my save in the 'Story mode' menu, as if I never played. But all the stats are still here. So I decide to check my data save and I realize the file of my save is just full of " " (space) and weigh 14 MB :
I played something like 34 days in game so I'm pretty sad because I know I have to restart all over. This time I will not forget to keep copies somewhere
Could it be possible to have a save incrementation in order to avoid that kind of issue ?

Empty space is normal for data files, it is mostly 0x00 (NUL) bytes used for separating different data in file, but if you edit and save it using default windows notepad, then notepad will automatically replace all 0x00 bytes (NUL) with 0x20 bytes (Space), and this will make the save file completely unreadable and there is no way to fix that, so this is probably what happened
you can take control of your robots (use the green circling arrow to toggle it on or off when looking through kerfur's camera) or use the camera drone to investigate the ping from a distance, there is entities that aren't spooky/evil but if you can't find them/don't want to investigate in-person, it's a nice middle ground.
I was able to solve the problem. A green dot appeared on the radar, and in its place lay a disassembled kerfurs. Most likely, he stumbled upon something that disassembled/killed him. I put all its parts on the workbench and reassembled it. everything works.

you've got yourself in a pretty shitty situation if you managed to softlock it and saved in that state... you can try any one of these
1: reset events and objects and wipe your map... not recommended but if you absolutely have to you can at least fill the mailbox with your essential items first so they carry over
2: get outside the fence and climb up to it with a hook (preferably a half hook) or
3: rig up an airship with something like a bench and balloons (hopefully you already have nails, a hammer/nailgun, and balloons if you want to try this route, otherwise you gotta get some on a different save and put them in the mailbox) and fly up to it
4: back up your save in appdata>local>votv>saved>savegames, then change the prefix of the offending save to b_savenamehere if you've unlocked sandbox mode; if not, I don't think this will unlock it, and if you do have access it will remove a couple easter egg items from the map for some reason. Press V to fly and head over to it and free it, go back home, save, and revert the prefix of your save to s_savenamehere.
It seemed to me a great solution to go into the sandbox, but when I try to remove the protruding part of the camera from the ground, my game freezes and after a long time nothing happens. I've restarted it a couple of times, but everything repeats. Is there any way to get through the wall in flight? I guess then I could just unhook the hook from the camera.
Actually, I tried to do it in a regular game. I had 2 more hooks in stock, I drove the ATV up the mountain and it got stuck too!) I spent a lot of time to get the ATV out, I pulled it out, but I couldn't get the quadcopter... (SPOILER) It's funny, I had some alien things going around there, the lights are off, and I'm behind the map (on the mountain at the green plush) trying to do something xd
damn if cheats aren't even working, you're gonna have to look up if anyone's figured out how to clip out of the invisible wall in this version yet, ways out get patched every update
if you've backed up your world you could try to use the delete command on the hook itself? (cheats in sandbox are accessed with 0 on the numpad), but beware you can delete literally anything and everything with it, including the map itself if your cursor is overlapped with the terrain at all
yes normal kerfus is SUPER buggy in time lapse, he needs tweaks for sure so make sure you turn him off first. They should show up on radar still if you want to try to track them down (you might need to take down all your cameras and throw the atv across the river and such around base as they also show up, if you're sure he's not near base he may have somehow gotten outside the fence, in which case IMO not super worth tracking down), and there is also a >>>>> SPOILER/SECRET >>>>> place to clip through the floor of the base on the porch near the workspace window, he may be stuck under there.
If you do find him stuck somewhere and can't free him/fish him out, drag a workbench over and disassemble/reassemble him
At maximum speed, the radar becomes glitchy; to be more precise, it begins to very often miss some objects and show them at the next check of the territory, which is why very often an alert is triggered about changes in the number of objects in the territory, it makes it very difficult to concentrate on anything
I don't know about the broom, I haven't used it... in the end, I had to use a certain device from a certain event in order to exert a pull on the fridge strong enough to get the physics to dislodge it from the shelf it had gotten embedded in. (This also required me to move a lot of the stuff out of the room because a fridge suddenly slamming into the opposite wall at oh-good-lord speeds tends to knock things around.)
you have seen what it is, you just don't know it's what's exploding because it's a bit silly and overdramatic compared to what it does in real life
add your native screen resolution to the res.txt file at appdata>local>votv>assets>res.txt
alternatively play in windowed (but you don't want to do that lol)

I like your game.
I bought a robot and since I was a beginner, I didn't know it could get stuck on curbs or steps. I went to bed, and when I woke up I didn’t find him. Only a few days later, when I figured out how the radar worked, I was able to find it in the basement. I have no idea how it got there or how to get it, but if everything is as planned, then okay.
cant slot any drives into the processing machine/stuck on this screen this happened after i inevitably alt-f4'd my game after keeping Kel awake for ~3 (ingame) days while they were schizophrenic about "sensing something" and not being able to sleep (which really feels like its not on purpose!)

i'm sure someone has posted this one before but i probably missed it. everything in the game runs fine. but sometimes after i save and quit, i wont be able to open the game again, whether its through the itch.io launcher OR through the folder i installed it in itself. doesnt matter where i install it. it just inevitably happens. i just get this popup. i end up having to re install the game when this happens. not a huge issue, just annoying. running on windows 11 x86_64

This isn't a game problem. I think your DirectX is just a little broken. You may install that XAPOFX1_5.dll by yourself or just reinstall DirectX from official Microsoft website. Hope it will help.

Кароче, ты можешь или переустановить DirectX, или скачать этот файл самому. Но решение с переустановкой правильнее. Если не сработает, погугли "Исправляем ошибку файла xapofx1_5.dll". На Дзене есть пару решений проблемы.
Seems to be fps (might have been a freak correlation but cleaning my base up and removing excess light sources helped cull the issue down) tied and easily triggered on reloads and by leaving a bunch of drives cluttered near the slots in general.
If you loaded the game with the drive in, you have to restart it again to reset the slot.
It can also randomly trigger when removing/plugging in drives, but you can correct it by plugging the bugged drive back in UNLESS YOU STORE IT- I keep a dummy drive on my desk to test slots before loading my drive box up to send off as prevention, as if you load the bugged drive into the box, you cannot fix it without reloading the game, even if you take all the drives back out of the box and try to plug them back into the offending slot.
You can retract the cable plug by looking for the option on the coffee maker end of the cable.
This working for all machines with cables.
A bit strange, usually if something falls through the map it teleports to the top of the world and falls near where it fell down- it might be in a bush somewhere nearby but it's probably easiest to put the password changer in the mailbox, save, start a new save, run to the mailbox, get the password, changer, and get the book in the new save and put the password changer and book in the mailbox and save. You can do the same with anything you can put in your inventory- hopefully the book can be picked up (don't see why it couldn't be) as that is the only requirement to using the mailbox besides being in story mode.
The problem is that Winrar nowadays can have issues extracting every file from an archive. It's definitely worth tossing it out for 7Zip.
You must use 7zip or winrar, the default windows compression and extraction is horrible and only handles default .zips and some odd formats.

(If you are unsure which to get, the first option under 7-Zip 23.01 (2023-06-20), for windows 64 bit is the latest stable release.)
With an archiver installed, it should add an option to the right click menu, and from there you can "extract to (folder name)"; avoid using "extract here" as it will just dump the folder contents out of the folder. You can also compress your own folders to save space or make backups or share stuff faster.
Well, i have a really bad problem, what if im downoloading game, but at some moment the downoload just stops and i can continue it? Maybe file is damaged? Also, in other version that im downoloaded before, like 7.0.0 without patches, there was no folders for custom music for radio/custom images/ custom models for printer. is there any solves for it? Well, in shortcut, i just cant downoload VoTV normally, on one moment it just says "Downoload canceled" and i cant start it again.
Do you know how to get to appdata? If not, I'll explain how, if you do then ignore all this. It's not in the actual game folder, it's a common outside directory for games and other software's saves and settings and such so that they don't get accidently wiped For some reason it's a hidden folder by default, so even if you know the directory you can't navigate to it without using a command or changing a setting. There's two popular ways to get there, I'd recommend doing the first, it's takes a little bit of setup but it's not complicated, and makes it ridiculously easy to access in the future but 2 is effectively instant and easy too:
Option 1: Open file explorer, go to the "View" tab at the top, and on the far right of the tool bar that opens, there will be an options panel. Open the options, and go to the "view" tab in the new window that pops up. 6 option down *should* be "Hidden files and folders"- select "show hidden files, folders, and drives", hit apply, and close the options. After this, you can navigate to the appdata manually quite easily and pin it to the quick access bar on the left. Simply open the drive windows is installed on in file explorer, and go to Users>(your username)>AppData (it will be grayed out to show its normally hidden, but is now shown and accessible.) Right click it and near the top should be "pin to quick access", and you can now instantly access it from the left any time you're in file explorer.
Option 2: Simply type %appdata% in the windows search/cortana bar and hit enter- This will take you to the WRONG folder for some reason, not actually the appdata folder, but it is within the appdata folder, so you can simply click "appdata" from the navigation chain in the address bar, or hit the up arrow beside the address bar (the shortcut is alt+up if you want to do it even faster)
From there it's as we said, there should be all your folders for saves and assets and such in appdata>local>votv
If you knew all of this and running the game as admin did not fix the issue, it's definitely a bug, but you can probably build the folders yourself, they're not super complicated and there's no special files in them that wouldn't already be generated for the game to even be able to run.
welp, guys, what if my posters are not working? Like, im put all png's i wanted in "posters" folder, but there is basic poster, not custom one. And if im trying to use it, nothing works.
definitely a bug, a large object like a mannequin or curtain or pallet should give numerous trash piles each

Had the same issue. Is there a way for players to force bad sun to re-trigger while the next update cooks? Also the wisps don't seem to despawn during the day, not sure if that is intended since the mode description implies they should only be around at night. Though kinda hoping it's supposed to be like this, making a mad dash for a shaded part of the roof when one came for a visit was a fun moment.
Press whatever you have bound to open the inventory MENU and it should restore items, that fixes it for me at least. And spawning in facing directly north is always how I've spawned, even before 0.7, so I don't think its a bug personally, but maybe it is.

Upon leaving the inner part of the cave, fell out of the map for seemingly no reason, while getting the ATV missing warning. Fell for a few minutes before pressing "." to teleport to base; had Autosave on so the game saved in this state. ALL objects are gone from the ENTIRE map, nothing remained, including all of the servers, main room consoles, meat from the meat room in the basement, event related objects, etc. All of the trash and grime, as well as chunks of meat on the roof, got reset. Later decided to check with debug camera if there's anything beneath the map(to see if maybe everything fell under the map like I did), instead found the purple crystal from the inner cave which isn't present on other savefiles. So I assume that the game saved the objects from the inner cave and then imported them onto the main location, causing everything to disappear(maybe not? I don't know really).
So uh, is there a way to fix this? It's my main savefile so I really hope there's some way. Doubt it, but I will cope until the end.
Lads, What do i do if my Posters, paintings, stickers dont work? They are just basics or they have no texture.
Weird radar issue.
I have 4 cameras set up at every Dish, 4 on the Tower, and 2 at each of the 3 transformers. (4*24+4+3*2 = 106 cameras)
With the player and and the ATV, I should have a total of 108 pinging radar entities.
However, the cameras set up at Foxtrot and Uniform pop into and out the radar.
I removed the cameras at Foxtrot and Uniform and now the radar entity count stay steady aside from a deer wondering in and out of range near Victor.
.......As I say that, I try collecting the drives from around the Processor slot, save, reload, then it works. Leaving this up for anyone else who encounters this issue.
In Solar Mode did not recieve the daily task tried it 3-4 times to confirm the issue still not got the task Idk if it is a feature or not but I thought I report it anyway
When i try to play the game on my school laptop it says fatal error and nothing else.
It loads into the menu but when I hit tutorial and play it just loads for a few seconds and then it crashes
Well, somehow im downoloaded it, but, why is there no folders for images for custom paints, also there is no folders for sounds for radio. How i can fix that? 
This error message appears whenever I try to run the game, does anyone have a fix?
