This happened to me after the radio tower went offline - minus the crashing though

(2 edits)

I encountered a bug with the coffee machine. I purchased it, and I took it out of the delivery box into my inventory and then tried to "Place" it on the left bench in the main room but I got a Fatal Error and the game crashed. Happened multiple times. But when I either let the box break and then just pick it up, or "Drop" it when it's in my inventory, it's fine. Side note: Can "retract" be an option in the main menu list for items like the coffee machine? It's a bit difficult to aim for the back of the object to get  the plug to retract when the machine is trying to drag itself across the room due to the rubber band physics

Another bug I encountered is with the Coordinates screen - if I spam the spacebar while entering the coordinates screen (I keep forgetting the scan button is Shift and not spacebar) the screen will jump a little, and then when I exit the screen I'll be standing on top of the panel, but after getting off of it I'll find I'm about half the height I was before. Getting into one of the monitor screens will resolve - totally recommend a "Shrink ray" Ariral event though as I had some fun running around the base as a shorty!

I'm 35 years old and have played this game over and over, and while i love the story events and the exploration, one of the first things I get now is the TV, then I just set it next to the PC and load it with my favourite videos and music mixes to set the mood. Just the act of chilling with them running while sorting and decoding signals is one of the most relaxing things in the world to me and completely changes what this game means to me.

If i could make one recommendation, having a "Chill Mode" for those of us that just want to play to relax would be amazing.

You just get the TV and Radio to start with, and get to sit there with no sleep or hunger bar, no requirement to get the hash codes, no treks for the transformer, and no intrusive story events, that would just be the ultimate relaxing game mode.

Extra events would be really cool as well, floating item events are always welcome and fun to see, the day and night cycle with the meteor showers and fireflies is awesome, maybe a few more events that happen out from the front window so i can go "ooh, what's that?" but not feel the need to leave my zen place.

maybe even a 'remote send' option since this is essentially an easy mode, where you can just email the signal from the PC to get your credits, so you can just sit at the PC and be a chill signal decoder.

I'd love an extra level of decryption to keep me engaged while i wait for the other two sections to auto-complete, especially late-game when things are maxxed or near maximum. Maybe a quick time event/button input minigame that results in either success or failure, or a varied level of decryption success requiring subsequent attempts, like random key input or phrase input within a timeframe.

Also, it's great that the servers reset to operational between save-exit-load for ease of gameplay, but it really stopped me exploring as i was playing when i realised that was a thing. It might be an idea to maintain the server statuses when saving to keep up the need to explore, or implement varying difficulty levels that maintain your server levels or reset based on difficulty.

If you take the difficulty route, I'd definitely recommend a hard mode mechanic that wipes your station of all stored recordings on a solar boom/flare/power outage event (with warning of course), it would be a novel mechanic to add a faraday cage storage box so you have to download your files and store them in the cage otherwise you lose your data when the event happens.

Also, having a generator to circumvent power outages would make another great mechanic, and act as a secondary use of fuel!

Anyways, enough of my wishlist, I have more signals to decrypt!
