Yeah, seriously. Like, baking is already a thing with cookies, and there's a cake item in the game, but we can't make cakes. Imagine making cakes.

I would also like to see milk be more useful. Currently, milk only really is for drinking, but we could make it into cheese, or make cheese into other things. Bread is also a thing that isn't used for anything. Couldn't we make sandwiches or something?

There's so many things we could do. Heck, make pots functional and let us make stew. We could easily make dumplings or something.

(1 edit)

He's talking about a framework mod, more or less. Which hasn't been updated since 0.8.2, to my knowledge. So, yeah, it would obviously cause crashes because it's out of date.

Edit: I correct myself. I was thinking of Voidmod when it comes to a Framework that hasn't been updated. Fusion is fine, and I have used it fine.

Oh, yeah, I really like that idea.

I would make sure (if you have an antivirus) that the download isn't getting blocked by it. The game is falsely flagged sometimes to some people.

It's not really "complicated" as much as it is tedious and much slower than it used to be. Kinda like most of the new systems. Thankfully, I have settings to turn most of this new crap off.

But the signal detection isn't that complicated. Just make a triangle with the three nodes around the signals. Gotta make sure the inner circle is big enough to detect the signal. Going big is an option, but going too small isn't.

I see. I indulged in decorating a lot more in my recent save, but even still, I didn't end up using a lot of outlets. I'm not even fully aware of every item that needs them. Like, I usually end up using lights that don't need outlets to function, if I feel the need to use lights in a certain area.

I made a pretty comfy living room out of my workspace. I made a makeshift fireplace and everything. Pretty cozy.

Really? What exactly are you using? I commonly use the coffee machine, hot plates, and maybe a Frame, but that's about it. What more do you really have that's worth?

I think it would also be nice to have new items introduced that include the need for power, because there are so many outlets in the base, but very little things you even need them for.

I have also been wanting blankets, and being able to place sleeping bags on couches or beds for better sleep quality, while not needing to sleep on the floor. Or... And hear me out... Even being able to sleep on couches through an added context menu, so we can sit AND sleep on them.

Realistic, unrealistic, reasonable, not reasonable, cozy or convenient, whatever you'd like! So much has been added to this game since it first came out, and yet, it's always fun to put out more ideas of what could be added to the game.

So, I suppose I'll start, and anyone joining this thread is also welcome to give their own ideas of what they'd like to see. I'd like to have a nice discussion of what we'd all like to see. (And keep in mind, that includes things that'll probably never be added for one reason or another. Don't be rude to others for putting out their wishes.)

What more would I like? Honestly, I would love farming and cooking to be even further expanded. I'd like to cut grass to have neat farms, I would like more fruits and veggies to grow, and I would LOVE more recipes to make and cook!

I think cooking is a very cozy pass-time, and sometimes, I have fridges full of prepared food, because I make a whole day out of it or something. Though, it feels fairly barebones still, as there is very few items to actually make. Pizza, burger, hotdog, bread, cookies, but I would still like more.

Some like to build and decorate. Others like to clean. Me? I love to cook, even when I don't know what to do with so much food. lol.

So, what would YOU like added?

It's kind of annoying loading up a save and needing to run to the console to disable all of the sounds that annoy me over and over again. I can cope with turning my computer back on, but needing to disable like 4 different sounds with every load is quite exhausting.

I honestly wish there were just options in the settings to disable these things, instead of needing to use the in-game console in the base to do so.

As I had mentioned, it's definitely possible, because that's how I play the game. It might be an option you need to toggle on, but it's not labelled as expected. I genuinely can't remember what I did to do it back then, but I've never had to change it, even through updates. I wish I had an answer.

I'll look into my settings and see.

There is a way, as I have it borderless, myself. I'd recommend actually turning Automatic off, as it has caused issues with some people in the past, and I'm unsure how it works now.

How to get it to work? I can't remember, unfortunately.

Maybe. But you also have to question how complicated that might be to do. I'm not a coder or game creator by any stretch, but I imagine that might take a lot of time to do, let alone developing a co-op mode to begin with.

Possible? Maybe. Likely? I'm not sure. It's a neat idea, and I can imagine that if co-op did come around, they might end up doing something like that.

While I would like a co-op mode for the game, I don't think it'll happen, simply because the dev doesn't think it's even possible to do, or might take too long to develop at this point.

I'm not saying it's set in stone, but the game is designed to be a solo experience, and I feel like it might be for the best, tbh. While I would love a co-op mode, you gotta admit that having someone else there with you would probably make the game a lot less spooky. Most of the spooks COME from being alone during everything that can happen in the game.

Do you have 7-zip or WinRar?

Very likely, so, yes. For one, the game should be launched directly, either from Itch itself, or from its application. And normally, when you download things from Itch (if you're using the application of Itch) then a dedicated folder is created for the games.

Considering you said he put it in his downloads folder, I would assume he downloaded the file more directly. He should extract it to a folder that isn't just downloads for most stability. Perhaps its own dedicated folder, he can label however. It wouldn't be the first time I've seen someone have this problem because the game wasn't in its own, dedicated place.

Try that, and see what happens.

As far as I can tell so far from research, some seem to be saying that this is an error that can occur if the application wasn't placed where the game's files are.

Is it just saying failing to download? Any errors? Any details are helpful.

Is an antivirus running? If so, try disabling it, and see if that lets the download finish.

You never know. Remember the game is still in alpha. You never know how far the game will go.

Did they install the game correctly and extract it into a proper folder?

Heh. 69 days ago. Nice.

I did not. I don't usually follow a lot of social media stuff, outside of certain game companies or creators that I follow for news.

I had no idea the updates were released on the same day. Huh. That's fancy to know. Well, I'll keep an eye out for the new update.

I can only imagine what might be added, as 0.9.0 must be a pretty big update, going from 0.8.2

I'm a bit dumb. What's important about the 19th?

Do they have a timeframe yet? I am too socially anxious to join a Discord because of my Autism, so I just kinda have to play it by ear on the forums.

You can always turn off the fall damage if it bothers you too much. No shame in it.

Hope you get it fixed, friend. :)

And how much RAM and disk space do you have?

Borderless Windowed does exist in the game options. Everything else you said, though, it depends on exactly what you're looking for. Like, what more volume sliders do you need? For what? If some things in the base bother you, you have the option to disable certain system sounds from the console in the server room.

And GPU?

Honestly, I don't see the problem in general. Yeah, it's a bit difficult to get used to, but more often than not, the only thing I use is Alternate and R to place something where I am pointing. Everything else, I just use the radial menu for.

Is it that hard? Not really. You only make it as complicated as you want it to be. You don't even need to use most of the controls, tbh.

What specs do you have?

All the video options you've come to know are generally in Render and Effects.

If you look in Task Manager, and go to Performance, if you went to your drive, it should tell you the type. Either HDD or SSD. If it's HDD, I'd recommend trying to put the game on an SSD, and see if that fixes your issue.

On another note, if your HDD is actually slow enough to not be able to load in textures, I would be pretty concerned.
