How does your game fit the theme?
Roll and acquire dice to navigate the dungeon, and the player looks like one too! Enemy movements are based on a 4-sided die, and the level design is influenced by the probability of movements.

nice game! very creative and fun to play. the music was good, but dont restart it after every level
Thank you for playing and glad you enjoyed it! Yeah, that was my last 45 mins of frustration right there! I wanted the music to play through the first 4 levels and the final level does have different music. My music manager code was very stubborn and did not want to work for me without bugs so I had to remove that part so I could submit :(
This game was really fun to play, especially when you get more than one die. It felt like a good implementation of input randomness like someone else mentioned. I was going back and forth about whether or not I thought the bad guy should have their path displayed. Maybe you only show the next move? I kept dying, but maybe I'm just bad lol
Awesome use of theme on this one well done. I wonder if the game will be more fun if you were able to attack enemies if you rolled an exact number to land on their tile.
The concept is great and original! I managed to finish the game, ("Or did I?" :-)). Rolling the dice is all about input randomness (see Marks Video on Randomness) and I think that is great! The enemies I was not sure if at some points they were following me maliciously. Maybe you could explore these concepts further: you could show the path the enemies will take, or at least their range, or the fact that they'll start following you. It could make the game more strategic this way. I died a number of times caught by the enemy, but I wasn't sure if it's just bad luck, or that I was to blame. This is more of output randomness and players usually don't respond well to it, especially since it can "brutally" finish the game. Arrgh I digress...:-) I really enjoyed playing the game and reaching it's end! It felt good!
Thank you so much for playing and glad you got to enjoy the full experience! And I totally agree with your feedback, and someone else also mentioned this. I've rewatched Mark's video and I do agree I underestimated the amount of punishment that the player might feel due to that output randomness. What are your thoughts on showing a roll preview for enemies like is shown for the player? That way you know how far they are going to go but not which direction. Or perhaps previewing the direction but not the roll?
actually both seem to be a good idea, and can help the player strategize differently. Initially I would have thought showing the dice roll would be the best, but indicating the direction is a really nice idea too. Maybe the dice roll fits better visually. Maybe the enemies can preview two dice rolls at the same time, and you need to guess between the two and strategize? This way you get a little output randomness that could be fun? But I cannot say which one is the most cool. Best would be to playtest it :-)
The art/presentation was really amazing, and the puzzles were quite challenging. Seriously great game!
Very cool concept, I had fun across all the levels ! A bit difficult sometimes but it is ok for a small amout of level, well done !
Cool Game! I think you did a really great job with the atmosphere. I think you could've made it so the player can turn around in his movement i.e. that he can go x amount of tiles but freely turn and move, which would make it less rng dependant and make some levels not so frustrating
Quite challenging sometimes! Gimmick is very interesting and fun, makes you strategize and think about your next moves, which is amplified by limited amount of rolls. Visuals and music are very nice. Loved the game overall!
I really liked the use of the dice as a way to keep you on your toes while moving around. Getting more dice felt like a very natural and clever extension. I never fully grasped how the enemies move, but was able to complete it regardless. You could push this idea to make some really cool.
I love this game! At first I thought having just one dice was going to make the game a little annoying, but once you introduced more dice I felt another depth of the puzzles. Very cool and it would be awesome if you could make more levels!
the constantly second guessing myself was rather entertaining I must say! with all of the "or did yous" thrown in there but overall the game was really fun with the last level being interesting and I just wanted one or two more of them as the more dice you added the better the level was, it felt more in your control as to the strategy overall the game was great and I have very few notes!
I found this game a neat, easy to understand adventure. sound and art choices made things easy to work with and ultimately it was a fun playthough. Thanks for that. I think the only thing I would have done differently is maybe shown where the enemies were going next as well. solid 15/15 for me.
The enemies are very difficult to work around. because of your limited rolls, you can't just wait until the necessary path is safe, and moving anywhere around them is basically a coinflip as to whether or not the will kill you. I think removing their ability to kill you if you cross their path, and maybe adding some indication of the direction they are next going to go would really help it feel less random. All in all it actually is a pretty interesting concept. It is visually pretty decent, and the music is great,
Adding the extra dice to pick up was a really nice touch, the game might've felt a little too random without that. The enemies were sometimes hard to get around, but once I decided to be patient and actually use my allotted movement, they weren't as frustrating anymore. I had fun with this one!
Cute little puzzler and very pleasing to the eyes, but I agree with some of the other commenters. Would have definitely liked to have seen a preview of the enemy's pathing and to have not died by intersecting paths so often. The concept and everything else was great though, good work!
Very creative concept and great execution! Only gripe I have is that I think the enemies shouldn't kill you if you cross paths, only if you land on the same square. Great game!
