How does your game fit the theme?
The player pilots a plane in the shape of a die, and the plane can not only roll in the air but can also land and roll on the ground. There is also a hazard in the form of a spikey die which deals damage depending on which way it is facing when hit. The obstacles are also randomly generated.

Managed to get a score of 10600... but I'm tempted to go for higher. Really fun game, the switching between ground and air is a pretty interesting mechanic and the dodge rolls are thrilling to pull off. It feels like one of those really addicting flash games I would play over and over as a kid haha.

The controls felt very responsive, and I loved the little details when you start rolling on the ground (like the music change and extra SFX)! I wish there were more reasons to go into ground mode, since it only seemed necessary for a handful of obstacles, but other than that I think this was a well executed game with a unique interpretation of the theme : )

Hey Josh! Really nice work. Graphics and music were awesome and the mechanic was unique. I enjoyed the procedural generation also. It felt like some of the dodge rolls I had to do were suuuper close together sometimes and I often took damage when I felt like I shouldn't have. I'm nitpicking though, seriously good stuff.

I didn't expect a game of this genre, but it works pretty well!

What I liked?

- The speed feeling is quite good

- The dice felt really responsive, the roll action was fun to use

- The dice breaking effect is well made

Overall nice work!

hehe i liked it

Very creative use of the roll of the dice concept. The game is fun and controls pretty well. Although personally not a fan of inverted controls but it is very well implemented.

If you have the time please play our game.

Excellent take on the Roll the dice theme.  The speed control idea was great and the increased difficulty was set perfectly. Great job.

Awesome game, love the whole aesthetic and the music fits really nicely. Overall, once I'd got the hang of the controls this was super fun to play so really good job :)

I loved the arcade vibe of your game. The concept is quite original, but I felt that the controls were a bit rough. I sometimes could'nt even dodge a red area, but that might only be my low speed reflexes. Nice entry !

Oh that was awesome, really enjoyed that! May have to come back for a higher score later 😅

Thanks for hanging out and sharing your game on stream!

Addictingly fun arcade game, was so fun rolling around on the floor and then taking off. great work!

This is a very interesting concept. The margin for error at the bottom is a bit rough, there's a very small margin you can be, just too high and you hit the red walls, just a little lower and you start rolling and bounding up into the walls. Other than that the controls felt fairly responsive and intuitive (especially once I turned off inverted controls)

My main criticism is just that there's no real incentive to "Do a dice roll!" usually, and no real incentive to fly any faster than 1-2. If you roll a 1 or 2 you could in relative safety play the entire game like that. A timer for example would help to motivate people moving faster. Hitting an obstacle applying some rotation to the dice may lead to more frantic moments where the player needs to react quickly to their changed circumstances.

Thanks for playing and for giving feedback! You are supposed to be able to roll under those walls easily, but unfortunately there is a bug where sometimes you bounce up and hit the red wall. There is at least a small reason to choose a faster speed because it allows you to get a higher score faster (score increases based on distance, but difficulty increases based on time. This means by choosing a faster speed you can gain more points before the difficulty ramps up). Although I still agree that there could have been more incentive to choose a faster speed.

This is a really fun arcade game! I love the retro style art and the flying and rolling mechanics. I got a bit confused at first when I first played, until I figured out that you can go up and down.

Awesome game!

That was really fun. Love the arcade gameplay. The game feel is super. Flying, then "walking", back flying, and doing rolls felt great.

This has been one of my favorites that I've played so far, despite some of the control problems that I had.  The graphics looked great and the concept is very fun.

My biggest gripe is that in turning sections it almost feels like your battling the camera and hoping that you pre-planned the turns well enough to avoid an obstacle.  For some reason I could never quite get my dice/ship to touch the ground like the instructions said I could to start rolling on the ground so some of the obstacles continued to smack me while attempting to do it.  Might be user error but it just seemed to not want to do it!

Great entry though!

Thanks for your feedback! I agree that the camera and controls around corners could use some work. The ship being able to roll on the ground should work. You may have to press down into the ground for a bit before it will actually start rolling. Although it is also possible that you found a bug that I haven't seen yet.

This is probably my favourite game from this jam so far! The controls feel good and the game is endlessly replayable thanks to the randomness! I also quite liked the graphics

This is a solid 6/6! Once I turned off the inverted controls I was jamming, doing the rolls across the walls feels so satisfying. Really nailed the animations and feel for the player!

There was one trap that i could literally not pass in any form, idk if thats a skill issue or not, but im pretty sure its impossible.
The theme interpretations is very vague, having only the player have a dice and a hp bar that is a dice does not affect the gameplay at all, this could have been a game about flying ants if you really wanted to.
Decent graphics and very nice particles.
Would recommend.

Thanks for playing and for your feedback! The obstacles are randomly generated with the difficulty increasing over time, and I didn't have time to test the higher difficulties much so it's definitely possible that an impossible obstacle was generated by mistake.

Np, fun expirience.

I don't really agree here. One of the core components of this game is that the dice faces determine your speed, you roll sideways to access the faces on your left and right, and move along the ground to roll back to front, the fact that your plane is a dice has a direct impact on the gameplay so I don't agree that "This could have been a game about flying ants if you want". Many of the harder traps can only be passed at low speed, like 1 or 2, so it could be that because you didn't seem to think the dice made any difference you likely didn't try to change your speed.

I did not notice that, maybe the mechanic and its effect should be a little more clear effects :/

Absolutely love this one! Great use of dice in all of the elements and awesome presentation. Well done.
