How does your game fit the theme?
I incorporated the theme of dice by designing the player as a die pip and the levels as cubic dice which must be navigated. The user's primary interaction with the world and the focus of the game's mechanics is through rotation of space, hence roll of the dice.

Oh hey that's a top contender right there! I dont think i can say anything that has not been said already so ill just put emphasis on how good the level design is - its great! In its core there are no complex platformer mechanics so the game lives and dies by its levels. An i think you did an outstanding job on that part.

Developer

Thanks!! Implementing the graphics and physics took a lot of the time, so I was left with little time to design extra level elements. I'm glad the levels I made with the limited resources were effective! I think the minimalism added to it, in the end :3

This deserves top 100 for sure in my book. Very clever puzzle design, the concept is well thought out and executed on. The ambiance just tickles the senses. Feels very Gris in a way. The subtle animation of the pip as it moves around. I can't say enough good things. Seems like you kept it in scope extremely well.

I don't know if it was intentional but the audio was a bit staticky throughout, I played the web build. Very cool though.

Developer

Thank you for playing! I'm glad you liked it :D
The audio bugs were not intentional (except in level 6 where they were!) It's a known limitation of Godot 3.3 web exports and I decided against putting too much time into trying to solve it. The downloadable versions however should not have the issue!

Submitted(+1)

Cool, and good to know. I've thought about trying out Godot.

Developer(+1)

It's a wonderful engine! Very lightweight but powerful, also free and open source which I love. I hope they fix the audio issue soon, but there's a massive graphics update coming very soon (4.0) and I'm excited for that!

Very liked the game overall!
One of the most creative puzzles around the whole Roll of the Dice theme. All the music, SFX, UI, graphics and feel of the controls  are extremely consistent and good.
Had hard time understanding the underlying mechanics as they become more complex and found myself brute forcing through the last two levels, but I guess that is the nature of the experience it should create. Don't think that there are much to explore beyond what you have done already, but nonetheless will be happy if the game will evolve even more after the voting period! Great job!

Thanks for the feedback! The difficulty curve has gotten some other nice feedback as well, it seems I could have introduced new concepts slower with a couple more tutorial levels. Glad you enjoyed, and thanks for playing!

Wow! I'm amazed. Theme aproach is unique and challenging, and of course perfectly executed. Very enjoyable experience!

This is fantastic! So smart and such a deep take on the theme. Visuals are stunning. Enjoyed every second of it. Forest level — one love!

Submitted(+1)

Wow, this game combines both cool design and creative idea, I really liked it!

This is my favorite jam game so far. Controling that ball very fluid. Art style for each stage very charming. Especially forest chapter <3 I just love it ^^

Creative puzzle game that has a really creative take on the theme, a dot going across each dice face to get back in its place. The presentation of this game is superb and the platforming mechanics are so well polished, as is the entire game as a whole.

Developer

Thanks for the kind words :D Glad you liked it!

I really loved getting to the end of this :)

Looked great, felt great, and was puzzling enough without being too difficult.

Submitted(+1)

Wow, that was really amazing! It looks spectacular and was really fun! 100% 5 stars

Very pretty game with a neat mechanic, i did just run around a lot until the puzzle was solved for the last few but was still fun :)

Developer(+1)

That's a fair way to go about solving them! Thanks for playing! :D

Great game, stunning visuals. Not much more to say. The fifth level got my brain spinning, ooh...

... and best credits so far :)

Developer

Glad you enjoyed! I felt a bit evil designing level 5, it was just as confusing to design as it is to play x)

Submitted(+1)

I definitely see why. It's funny how sometimes level designing is so easy and other times total hell. I remember experiencing both between levels in various games I've done.

Great take on the theme :)

Wish there was a 6th star just for this game -- the concept, aesthetic, and gameplay were all absolutely incredible with this one! Blows my mind that almost everything in this was made in just 48 hours! Awesome, awesome work here!!

Thanks for the kind words!! Glad you liked it :D

My head exploded! Brilliant puzzle. Gem of jam. Perfect execution.

Amazing presentation for a game jam! I think the dice theme runs a little thin but still fits, I'd say.

Submitted(+1)

The concept and levels are so much fun! Not too easy or hard. The art and atmosphere are also fantastic. Really good job, this is for sure my fav game so far!

Developer

I'm honored! Thanks for playing :D
