Really enjoyed this one! Would be cool to see some one time use items in the upgrade menu as well! Something to give you a competitive edge when things get hairy.

Very nice!

I like your power-up idea. With time you can make graphics to reflect changes to give players that extra sense of accomplishment. Keep at it!

Really like platformers and waves of ghosts.  Nice upgrades for coins.  Felt like I had to play for a long time to get coins as most ghosts didnt drop anything... which meant the upgrades came slow too.  Not being able to jump very much was very limiting at the beginning.  I liked the tltg button but you didnt enforce the max limits on the upgrades and you can keep clicking the tltg button to get more points.  Was pretty funny to zoom, flying and spray a million bullets across the board. :)

Great game with nice upgrades, and best of it all... The "I have no time" button. It was still fun afterward to see what else was coming. Great submission.

Developer

That was indeed my intention with the button. If you in a hurry, just look at the game quick, end it and move on to the other 900+ games :P Other invested almost an hour!

Seems like we do indeed have a similar game. I've had quite a lot of fun and the pacing of upgrades was great. The only problem I had is that my screen wasn't large enough to fit the entire level even on full screen, but despite that; I had a lot of fun shooting down those unholy ghosts :D

Developer(+1)

Right? :D

So sorry about the screen... I always have trouble with my screenscaling... don't know why...

Thanks for playing and rating :D

Pretty cool! I loved the variety of enemies, and the upgrades were a great way of using the theme. Once I died enough times, I love that you gave a TLTG button lol. It really did help me experience more of the game! Overall, a great submission. Good job :)

Developer

Thanks for the rating and playing!

Great game, good use of the theme, took me a while to level up but I could see myself playing this for longer if I had a definitive score for each play through so many killed etc. it was good to see the enemies getting tougher after time as well. Nice work!

Developer

Thanks for the feedback, that would be a great addition!

This is a great entry! I appreciate that there is a TLTG button :D I had a lot of fun leaping around the map blasting all the ghosts! The gravity feels a bit floaty, but that's the only thing I noticed that felt off.

Developer

like... superhuman floaty? :P That would be great, but I know it's kinda... not feelig great to play at this stage :D

Yeah I wanted a longer game, but I also wanted that the players have to invest as less time as possible, if they want to test the other 900+ games :D

Thanks for playing!

I played the whole game. It took I think like an hour and a half but I couldn't stop playing. There were a few glitches but overall I think it was really fun and good. The progression was a little slow I think it wasn't too bad. I really enjoyed this game. I bought the red guy 3 times before I was able to beat it :)

Developer

Wow! Why didn't you save some time with the cheatbutton? I feel honored! Thanks a lot!

Submitted

This is cool. You can press the upgrade buttons after they are maxed, I'm not sure if it does any more upgrading, but it does take away points. The bullets can collide with each other and maybe they should not.

Developer

It does indeed :D You can get so powerful the game is gonna get unplayable :D

But I'm happy that you didn't :P

Tnaks for playing!

This is a very cool game! The only problem I had was that my screen isn't big enough to see the whole level, even in full screen. Other than that, I had fun shooting ghosts!

Developer

Thanks for the feedback :D

Each year I have a lot of trouble with the screensizes... I don't know why! :(

Submitted

Loved the mechanics a lot! This is a fun gameplay look. I won’t lie, it felt like it took forever for the jump to be useful, I think only damage made a tangible difference after the first upgrade. This is am impressive entry, strong game jam entry!

Developer(+1)

Yeah that jump... thant damned jump...

I heard that a lot :D Thank you for playing, rating and the feedback! I hop you had the same fun as me!

Submitted

Yey! A Cheat button :D

Was very confused first go at not being able to jump very high and reach even the first platform. But then the upgrades made sense.
Nice take on the theme, and nice set up for the game to.
Great work, well done! :)

Developer

Thank you for playing, rating and participating :D

I didn't use the button to skip upgrades!  I wasn't able to defeat the red guy from the third attempt:(

It was fun! The emchanic is really good - upgrades and platformer with 360 are really work well.
The only problems I had with balance:

-Default stats are very low. You even require several upgrades to get to the first platform.:(

- A little strange max lvl difference between lvls : Shooting interval upgrades very slowly and on the max lvl it is still very big

- No projectile speed upgrade!

But it is just balance, I think, it could be easily fixed:) Overal the game is great and I had a good time playing it!

Developer

Yes i guess it is the balance :D I wanted to implement weapons in the first place, but didn't have enough time... That way I could have been a little higher with the basestats i guess.

Thanks  anyway for playing, rating und taking part of the gamejam!

Fun game, nice upgrades and enemy variation!

Arrigatooooo!

Thanks for playing an rating :D

I really like that this wasn't just another platformer. It had an actual progression system that made sense. At first I wondered if the very low jump height and move speed was just bad design, but I realized I had to upgrade them. That was fun. I didn't stop until I was able to effectively destroy the golden ghosts. The simplicity of the art had a lot of charm to it, reminds me of my first platformer when I was still using game maker. This was fun. Congrats! :)

Developer

Thanks for playing and rating!

Did you see the cheatbutton? :P

Submitted(+1)

I played about 8 rounds before I hit the button - nice progression system.

cheers

Thanks for playing, rating and the feedback :D

Hey! It's another GDTV21 jammer. Glad to see you're still making games!

Your core loop is straightforward and appealing. Your audio clips are goofy and the ghost sprites are the perfect amount of odd. Unfortunately, it sort of missed the mark for me. I liked the idea of growing stronger, but playing at those early power levels didn't feel good either. If you want the player to get stronger over time, you have to make sure the early parts still are fun, too. I played 4 deaths before using the "TLDG" button, and despite multiple jump upgrades, I still couldn't reach anything beside the upper level. Making sure all parts of your game are fun is important - players don't want to have to "put in the work" to get to the fun part later.

That being said, I still played all the way through in beast mode. I found out I could keep spending and leveling up even after it said "max upgrade". I got my health upwards of 800k. My fire rate was so fast that I think the bullets were colliding with themselves and destroying immediately. My jump shot me straight through to the top in the blink of an eye. I was a ghost killing god. The red ghost stood no chance. It was oddly satisfying lol.

Congrats on finishing another game. Keep making games and keep improving!

Developer(+1)

Hey! Indeed it ist and a 2020 :D

Thanks for the feedback! You are totaly right about the early levels! I just thought you yould feel the power more later... more impact of the upagrads, so to say.  I could have implemented different weapons, but i scrathced that, beacuse of the time :(

LOL! I love to break games, too :D Well yeah, because of the colliding bullets I had to limit the upgrades in the fist place! And most of the people stopped clicking when it said max upgrades. But not CFHM... oh no! :P

Best wishes to you too!

Very fun! the game is well made. The control is smooth. And the combat is pretty good. The upgrade system is interesting, and it is fun to see how the character gets progressively stronger. The background looks good as well! Great job!

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! I know that the upgradesystem is not balanced :D but I had fun making and testing it :P

"What's wrong? Blake? Blaaaaake!"
LOVE the MGS vibes!

Really love side-scrolling shooters like this!
You did a great job creating a fun and challenging experience!

Developer

Just because of that, the name of the player is blake. :) I knew you had to die a lot and wanted to make it funnier. And for me there's no "memier" death than MGS :D

Thanks for noticing :P and of course for playing and rating my game!
