Thank you for playing and leaving a comment! We did consider pausing, but we ended up letting the player instantly respawn. We thought that having pauses between respawning interrupts the game's rhythms and makes the game more frustrating having to wait. We need to experiment more to know which solution is best. Thank you for your thoughtful feedback!
Love the atmosphere. It is very relaxing to just traverse the vast space and slowly grow. The control is a bit weird but I think it gives the game a unique feel. Very polished, especially the UI. Really like the SFX and the music too. Nicely done! Amazing that you managed to make such a complete game on your own in 10 days!
Very interesting puzzle and generally well-designed platforming! Though simplistic in design, the game feels very complete and well-executed! I like the button and box mechanics, and I think there is great potential in making even more complex and fun puzzles. Well done! You two should be very proud!
Very fun! Visually the game looks very beautiful, and the turn-based design is engaging. It is fun to build an army of animals you've fought! I also like the visual indicators. They look very clean.
To make this game even better, I think the differences between different units can be more exaggerated. Maybe some animals can cross certain terrains while some can't (it seems that this is the case for enemy units but not for the player's units), or special abilities. It would also be cool if units don't get one-shot so easily. The game feels a bit too simplistic. It boils down to having the higher health/attack and hitting the enemy first before they hit you.
The game is very complete and very fun. The controls work perfectly, and the actions players can take and in-game information are presented very clearly, which is the most important in a turn-based strategy game. Incredible that you two managed to do all that in 10 days! Great job!
I really like the environment and the atmosphere it creates. I also like the story and how storytelling is incorporated into the environment. Very fun!
I think to make this game even better, you may consider showing the cooldown of the attack, and adding more variety to the combat. I already like the storytelling, but I think you can push even harder to incorporate a richer story.
Overall, while the game feels a bit unpolished, your ideas shine through. You should be very proud of what you've accomplished, and continue to work on it! Nice attempt!
A great space shooter. It is very impressive that you managed to make such a complete game solo!
To make this game even better, I think there can be more feedback when people hit the target. It is difficult to tell if I'm damaging the structure or not, so some feedback would be great.
I'm not good with this type of control. I think my clones control the fighter better than I do so I just die whenever the charge is complete. :D But still, fun game! Great job!
Incredible that you made this solo! The game is visually stunning with smooth animation. And the music choices are great! I like how after each death there's different music! The combat is smooth, and it functions exactly as how you expected it will. The sprites and the particles are beautiful.
To make this game even better, I think the screen shake can be more subtle. My eyes physically hurt from playing. I die more times due to not being able to focus on the character because of the screen shake than actually misplaying. Also, the hp bars can use another color for improved clarity. The game becomes exceedingly if you just hide in a corner, so you should fix this too!
Overall, the game is incredibly well-made. You should be very proud! Great work!
I absolutely agree there are some rough spots in the dialogues. Personally, I'm not happy with how the story turns out but time is limited and I'm unpracticed in writing stories.
Regarding the repeated respawn, I completely agree. I think the tedium comes from the lack of complexity in the puzzles. The number of spawn points didn't match the complexity of the puzzle. If each spawn points have more content and are therefore more meaningful, I think it wouldn't be as tedious. So I hesitate to say that the respawn mechanic is fundamentally flawed. It is probably more of a problem with puzzle design.
Thank you so much for giving our game a try!
Very fun game with beautiful art. The upgrades, especially the double jump, are quite significant, which is good. Well done!
To make this game even better, I think the clarity of the game should be improved. The timer bar should also be re-positioned somewhere more eye-catching. The placement of the platforms can use some adjustment as well. Some platforms are quite awkward to jump on and can get quite frustrating.
Overall, very good game. The fact that you managed to do all this on your own is even more impressive. Nice job!
Very interesting mechanics. Very nice that you managed to put different mechanics into the game in 10 days. Love the sprite work and the dialogues. I think the game is a little bit difficult. And every time I misuse a crystal I need to reset it, which is a bit frustrating.
Overall, a very well-made, complete game. Impressive that you finished this with just 2 people in 10 days. Great job!
Thank you for taking the time to play and read the story! The story is a meditation on escapism, which I think everyone has faced at some point in their life. But I think agoraphobia also fits, so I'm glad you find meaning in it. Yes, the difficulty can be quite high at the start. Thank you for not giving up and pushing through!
Very interesting concept! Having to go between the mortal realm and the underworld and keeping both sides ok is very challenging! I think the game can be a little more forgiving, but nonetheless, the game is very well-designed and well-made. The control feels good, and the SFX fits very well.
To make this game better, perhaps it is a good idea to reduce the number of temples in the underworld. I feel like above, there are only 3 temples, but in the underworld, there are so many, and the timer is very short. Instead of increasing the difficulty by having more temples, perhaps you can add other mechanics to add variety to the gameplay.
Overall, a very well-executed fun game. Very impressive that you managed to make everything functional and running by yourself in 10 days! Keep up the good work!
Even though that control needs some adjustments, your idea is clearly demonstrated. Guiding the character instead of directly controlling is interesting, and I can see great potential to make puzzles based on this mechanic. Unfortunately, I think in the current state, the game can be quite difficult to play. The difficulty comes not from the level design, but from the controls.
Regardless, I think this is a very good attempt, especially considering that you are doing this solo! Good job!
I'm pleased to see yet another cultured fellow who appreciates the isekai truck troupe.
A very simple game, but other than the performance issue, the voice acting is funny and the game is generally well-made. The truck parody is of course appreciated.
TLDR; having brightly-colored hair is dangerous in anime world. Good job!
First of all, I would like to commend you for completing the game despite what happened. My condolences. I hope that you and your family are doing okay.
I think the game has a very interesting theme and art. I absolutely love the cards, especially the VFX behind the stars. I can tell that you put a lot of effort into it. I like the anthropomorphism of the stars. The idea that there's an entity that is devouring the stars is just so cool, especially when there's a Lovecraftian cosmic horror vibe to it.
As for the core mechanics, I think they are sound. But I think the tutorials didn't adequately explain the game, so maybe I just misunderstood the game. I like the event cards. I think it adds variety to the game. I think the difference between the different civs is not obvious. I would expect some different properties other than the play prerequisite.
There are a few bugs, and the UI needs some polishing, but I understand the time limit.
Overall, a very ambitious game. Though hindered by the unfortunate situation, I hope you can bounce back and continue improving the game! Nice attempt.
I'm going, to be frank, but this game is just too good. How can a game with no gameplay be this good? Must be because of the juicy vote the dev will give me after I leave a nice comment!
Frankly speaking, while I don't usually enjoy these types of games, I appreciate the humor and the novelty. Clever writing. The narcissistic psycho personality Justin has is interesting and you captured that very well. But I think I will be very frustrated without the easy mode. Would be insane if it has a voice-over.
Great game, Frank. great game.
...
Can I get my vote now?
A simple but very well-executed idea. I love the chromatic aberration and distortion in death form. It looks great! The level designs are pretty interesting.
To make this game even better, I think you can further distinguish between the ghost and alive form. Other than some blockades that only the alive form can move through, I feel like the death form is just superior. Would've loved to see some abilities and more complex puzzles, but time is limited, so I think you have got a great foundation to build off of! The control also feels too slippery and imprecise for my taste.
Overall, a small but very well-made game, where the effort you put in is clearly shown. Good job!
A very fun game! Interesting puzzles and an interesting mechanic. Love the sprite, especially how it bounds.
The game is great, but there's still some room for improvement. Some levels have some frustrating segments. The pause for the previous character to finish running feels very weird, especially when the timing is important. Not being able to start immediately at the same time as the previous character interrupts the game flow slightly. The control is also not as precise as it can be.
Overall, a very well-made fun game with an interesting mechanic that correspond to the theme well. Nice attempt!
Very beautiful art. Love the comedic contrast between the cute feel and the sudden menacing birds and dogs. The twists and turns are really fun to experience!
The movement and the level design needs some refinement. But overall, the game is beautiful and the twists is really cool. The story feels a little rushed it ended quite abruptly but great job! Very impressive that you managed to do all the art in 10 days!
Incredibly polished! The control is precise and smooth. The level design is generally very good. The sprites and the animation is cohesive and beautiful. I find the spawn point to be visually appealing. the game is very pretty!
There are some spots that feel a little bit frustrating. And sometimes the platform is positioned just right that I will always bump into it and die. It will also feel a little better if the laser hitbox is a little more forgiving. But the overall difficulty is totally fine.
Overall, a very good game with very interesting level designs filled with ideas. Very well-made. Great job!
Very funny. Love the voice-over!
Always love the low-poly look. And the shifting camera angle and scenarios introduce variety to the experience, which is very important. The sound effect and the 3d models give a very lighthearted tone to the game, and it works really well! Hilarious that even after death, we still go to work and do yoga. Oh yeah :)
Very nice attempt! Good job!
A very beautiful game. I really like the theme. The sand, the cracked stones and Anubis looks great. Love the SFX. They are simple but they work great! It is impressive that you managed to do so many things all by yourself!
The game feels a bit empty, and the movement a bit slow. If there are more complex puzzles, it will be even better!
Great work! Especially when you did this solo! :)
