What a fun little game to play! Love the unique mechanics implemented. I really enjoyed playing the levels with the two worms combined. Would be interested in seeing more levels that have obstacles that would kill the player for a bigger challenge.

Great entry!! I love the minimalistic but effective art style! The game play was fun, I do wish the worm was easier to control as it made it a bit of a slog sometimes. I wonder could there be faster/more fluid movement. Really nice mechanic though!

I love the sound effects, especially when you clear a level, very satisfying and was tickling my brain !

Great use of minimal graphics and a fun mechanic. The sound and music suit the game feel well. As others note, the switches are difficult to operate. Maybe consider automatically grabbing them?

Mechanics were so fun. I expected same mechanics to repeat, but each level introduced something new.

Switched got bugged sometimes, but nothing that would stop me from enjoying the game.

Great game, good job!

I loved it! The artstyle is cute, the mechanics are unique, and the sound effects & music are perfect!

I got stuck on level 9... I know how to beat it (i mean, it's in a GIF to the side there lol) but I wasn't able to move my mouse fast enough to get mid-air momentum after activating the lever...

This game made me smile so much while playing it. The character controls and physics were a lot of fun, the dialogue in the levels was funny, and the variety of mechanics and puzzles kept everything really fresh and engaging. I do have to say, the first thing I noticed was the outstanding UI for this game. I know this is a game jam and there isn't always time for finishing touches, but the worm level select and how snappy the buttons were made me really impressed, as UI doesn't usually get focused on that much in development. Have got to say, 10/10 with this polished game, great job!

Note: There's a bug in level 10 that wouldn't drop the orange ball no matter what even if  I had both worms on switches. Resetting the level did nothing so I had to go back to the level select for it to work.

Really cool game! I appreciate so much the character's controls :) Well done!

Very funny game !!!

The game is very cool, but the main theme is "bug" not "worm".

Developer (1 edit)

Thanks for the feedback 🙂

Concerning the theme, you're totally right in that a worm is not a bug.

I was going off of the definition on the jam page, "an insect or creepy crawly"

I defined a worm as a "creepy crawly"

Submitted(+1)

The worm can be a larva, a insect.

The best game I've seen in this jam! You could do a full game with this idea, I'm sure it would be a success.

So I was playing the game and one of the levels stopped working. It was the one where the pink worm pulls a lever/switch to make the blue worm "blast off". The first time i played the level, everything worked, I just had to restart because i didn't get the blue worm onto the platform. On my second attempt playing that level, the thing that launched the blue worm upwards stopped working whenever i tried activating it with the switch/lever with the pink worm. Other than that, you've got quite an interesting game going. The colorful art style is definitely a plus.

This is such a good game!!! I like the colour scheme, the music, and the physics puzzles. Would love to know what lead to this idea, so unique.

Developer(+1)

Thanks, glad you enjoyed it :D

My idea started out as the general concept of the player being able to split in two to solve puzzles.

Then I just googled what bugs can split in half and it turns out some types of worms can do this :)

Then I proceeded to spend half my time trying to get the worm to squash and stretch properly instead of focusing on the splitting mechanic.

Had a lot of fun, good luck with the jam!

Very cool puzzles. I was afraid the worm thing was just a gimmick but it was actually needed to complete the later ones.

Really nice game!!

I enjoy the unique way of movement. Well done.

Pd: I found the lasts levels really difficult :(

Developer(+1)

Apologies for the difficulty curve.

I actually programmed in an easy mode where there's no gravity. Just didn't have time to add a toggle to the settings menu.

Thanks for the feedback and good luck with the jam :)

This game is my personal favorite. Glad to see such a good Godot game.

Also, the code is so super clean. lol

Developer

Thanks for the feedback!

I've tried a few different game engines and Godot is definitely the best for my workflow.

With my code, I did the thing where I started out trying really hard to be organized and things devolved into madness about a week from submission time :)

script_templates help a lot though, that way all of my scripts have the same general structure.

Good luck with the jam!
