I used to play a lot of tower defense on Starcraft and warcraft custom maps.  You did a great job although waves where kinda slow.  I also like the idea of the levels being motherboards.

Developer

Hi!

Thanks for playing! I am glad you liked!

I think I’m mega dumb, because I can’t figure out how to place towers. The graphics are amazing, and the audio is great! I love the theme interpretation too.

Developer

Hi!

Thanks for playing!

To place the towers you have to put the cursor over a tower in the HUD than press Z. Take to cursor over a place you want and press Z again. The cursor is white when no tower is selected, green where you can put a tower and red where is not possible to place it.

Happy new year!

Nice entry! I would love a speed up button, the enemy waves felt very long to come! Also more clarity of when you have the tower selected. Maybe have the cursor turn to the tower you are placing? Would be interested in seeing you do more with this as I love tower defense games, with some tweaking to the speed and flow of the game, it could be even more fun!

Developer

Thanks for playing and for the feedback! I really appreciate that!

Great game, your graphics are very cool,  at first I didn't understand how to place the ba towers but i had fun.

Overall cool game,

Good Entry

Great tower defense implementation with charming graphics! It took me a little bit to figure out how to place units and what they actually did. I'm still not sure exactly how to switch from placing one type to another type, but I had fun!

Developer

Thanks for playing and for the feedback! I'm glad you enjoyed it!

If you had selected one type of tower and need to change to another type, press X to cancel the selection and Z to select the new tower ;)

Really like the idea! Had trouble figuring out what to do in the beginning, but it turned out to be a RTFM-issue on my side. As previously mentioned, the game could have used a fast forward button or similar, but other than that, good game

Developer

Thanks for playing and for the feedback. I wish I have more time to do a tutorial level for this game. But when the deadline was coming closer I have to cut that down.

I'm glad you liked the game :D

I like the circuit board art a lot. One thing I'd suggest if you intend to keep updating the game after the jam: add "buttons" to change the speed - usually tower defense games have those, for when you don't have much to do but wait.

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing and for the feedback. I really appreciate it. I'm will keep updating the game after the voting period. Your suggestion is now on my to do list ;)

love seeing some pico8 games here! :D and also love tower defense, i really miss them lately
game was super fun! but i just felt a little slow the first waves to start
and you really did an amazing job with the pixel art!

Thank you! I glad you like the game! 😄

Tower defense games tend to be some of my favorites when I start playing through game jam submissions. the 8-bit style is a bit hard for my old eyes to see, but I still managed to make it through a couple waves. One thing I might do is make the indicator to buy new units a bit more obvious because it took me a minute to find it on the screen.

Developer

Thanks for playing and for the feedback! I Indeed, the indicator needs to be more obvious on the screen. Some times, when I was testing the game, I lose it as well 😁

really great way to capture the retro feel but modernise the system a bit, enjoyable playthrough - I do love me a tower defence game!

Nice effort on adding variety, though I am too impatient to wait for ammunition, like to see more zing with less effort.

pretty cool. liked the added bass in the music! gg!

Developer

Thanks! I'm glad you liked it!

For the music, RobbyDuguay gets all the credits. He did an amazing work with Nine Songs in Pico-8 (https://www.lexaloffle.com/bbs/?uid=11038).

I like this style. Fun little TD game, I haven’t managed to get far, since I am pretty bad at TD games :D I noticed that after restarting, computer disappears so I can’t get any more currency for towers, but it is easily fixed by just restarting the game

Great work!

Thanks for playing and for pointing out that bug. I was not aware of that. It's an easy fix. Soon that voting period is over I will publish a new version. I'm glad you have fun!
