I love the retro arcade feel on every piece of the game. The music, aesthetics, gameplay, menus, etc, It's really well done. The rewind mechanic is interesting and a nice addition to the overall game. Good Job!

Very very cool! I love the aesthetics and the attention to detail! The best part is that I actually thought about doing something very similar for the game I made but wasn't sure how to implement it but you nailed! Think about adding multiplayer to this! (local-coop / vs to keep it with the classic arcade theme)  :D

I loved the 80s theme and the bullet mechanic is top notch!

Great game the graphics and retro look is amazing its really feels like your playing an arcade game but one issue i had is when i first started i really wasn't sure what to do then i figured you need to direct the blue photon to attack the enemies which is a really unique idea but i had issues directing the photons into enemies and instead i relied on the photon hitting them randomly but other than amazing submission overall well done

You got the look and feel of a retro arcade game down! The sound effects really make every little action count, and thevisuals are beautiful! Good job!

Well done on the game!!!

I definitely recommend you to not start your audio on all out 100% as that was way to loud to start off (You made my sister really mad now)! :P

I always enjoy a great deflect game and I'm really impressed with the amount of enemy's you made & how polished it is!

I love the arcarde theme down to the "insert coin" at the start! The game was fun and the rewind was cool, nice job!

Ok, this is the best game I've played so far. So many reasons to like this nostalgic piece of arcade excellence. Please share how you did the CRT effect and the screen curve. Loved that you made it feel like an old coin op machine. Such careful attention to detail needs to be represented in a Brackeys game jam review video. Excellent work Snowy and Cactus!!!! Bravo

Thank you so much! I'm glad you enjoyed our game :D

We actually really cheaped out on the CRT effect. Instead of doing the responsible thing and using a shader, it's just an semi-opaque overlay graphic (alternating black and transparent lines) on a separate Camera Space canvas, so it gets affected by the post-processing.
The screen curve is using the lens distortion post-processing effect from URP.

Thanks again for playing! <3

that’s awesome. Love learning about the tricks of the trade! Yeah, using the transparency will cost more in performance, but in a pinch it gets the job done and looks excellent.

Not much to say about this game besides that i freaking love it!

Specially how u actually made the rewind mechanic actually be useful where lots of ppl just threw it into their games without thinking.

Things I liked, I honestly adore any arcade themed game and yours knocked it out of the park. Your MENU! Fabulous. The layering you have with your enemies in your game with having some get hurt by normal time and others getting hurt in rewind is a unique use of the mechanic and its awesome how you applied it as something that could stack on different enemies. A really good take on the theme! I managed to get to 750 points before I finally succumbed to horrible death explosions.

Things I didn't like while the inherent ability to rewind was very intuitive the ability to bounce the bullet with your character seems slightly off? I think its due to the fact that your already trying to just dodge whats on screen to begin with so having to manage anything else just results in it getting lost. At a certain point i just used the large beam enemies to kill of everything else more than my actual bullet ball did.

Overall though a fabulous game and one that I would definitely be proud of! Keep up the good work!

Really nice arcade game! Love the shader and post processing, some tutorial regarding the green enemies would've been nice though!

This really looks like an arcade game, and the audio fits very well also. I did find myself chasing after the light a lot, I would appreciate if it was just a bit slower, but I guess that's where the challenge comes in. I like the variety of enemies as well and how different their behaviors are, there was definitely some thought put into making each enemy unique. Well done!

I saw the images and thought: NOOOO not another of those move and rewind games...but....this is FUN! You the vintage look in a more distinct way. Well done!

Great game! I love the visuals, sounds and music, you knew what you wanted to make and you delivered exactly that. The replayability and polish for a jam game (even though it is pretty small) is surprising. The game's really fun and the rewind mechanic feels incredibly satisfying :D

I'm not, however, a big fan of three shooter enemies terrorising me at once, or someone barely visible shooting at me from the corner of the screen >:-(

Nice job, both of you!

Really strong first impression with the title screen and music

this continued throughout, the presentation and polish is great

I really like the obstacle that captures the light for a few seconds before it breaks out, and the exclamation marks that indicate incoming enemies - thats good details

the theme is handled very well, has a lot of replay value.

Nailed it.

This is a cool little top down shooter with a twist!  The screen effect is super cool too.  It is a bit challenging hitting stuff with the rewind, but it is satisfying watching it happen.  Perhaps the projectile could grow real big during the rewind?  Still awesome game and keep it up!  Please check out my entry game if you haven't :D
