This was a really powerful experience to play. For a genre that doesn't usually show up in game jams, for it to be so well executed here was really beautiful.

Love how the story relate with the theme. Congrats, really happy to see a narrative oriented submission.

Good job at telling a story I feel many, including myself, can relate to. A game doesn't need to be long and complicated to still be powerful.

Good job, could use a bit more polish but not bad for 48 hours

Developer

If that isn't the motto of every game jam : )

In particular, this was made in 18 hours due to work and other time constraints.

A great example of how narrative and writing can make even the smallest game great and true to a theme.  Well done!  Even the walk from hospital room to waiting room added a sense of anticipation and suspense.  You could have made it a simple scene change but it really brought in the immersion by doing that.

wow, I need my permission slip signed for this feels trip I took.

Wow... This was awesome. I am wondering if there are different endings. But the story and the way you tell it really hit something. Really well done!

Developer(+1)

No alternate endings; It's just a question of what dialogue you see

Oh, I forgot to leave you a comment!

I liked it and liked it a lot, story games made during jams always amaze me.

Wow, that was kinda dark, but so on point with the theme.

Kind of a weird mood, but nice.

Oof what a topic

Music was kinda distracting but otherwise very well put together.

Great atmosphere. It was very entertaining. I would have liked some kind of plot-twist or conclusion, but welp, that's not how reality works. I enjoyed it nonetheless. Good job!

Interesting, short and sweet game, straight to the point. I would have liked a bit less dialogue and more impact. To feel more the distress of the situation, a dialogue scripted game like that in 18h is not an easy task, good job.

Apologies for not playing this on stream, was just playing it on the safe side for the viewers! This was very emotional, and a very unique take on the theme. Thank for you telling a different story and one that was truly out of control. Very well made

Developer

No worries, it’s your Stream and I totally respect your decision; that’s why I included the content warnings. Thanks for playing it!

I see your game blew up good luck man

You are the first one who took Out of Control in a more emotional way. At first, my finger weren't on the right key of my keyboard, so I thought you remap WASD to simulate the initial distress of the protagonist.

I think my core criticism of the game is that outside the dialogue, there is no direct mechanic to convey your story.

Otherwise, a good little game with decent pixel art. On another note, I hope your wife have recovered and that you are doing well :)

Developer(+1)

I was the kid, actually. But yes, the person in question did recover and is still healthy and happy to this day.

Glad to hear it ! (for your mom I mean). You made a good game out of this experience, so yeah thank you for sharing too :)

I wasn't expecting to play a game that captured the theme of out of control with such emotional power, but yours did an excellent job telling a story that was very real and out of control. Well done engaging with the theme philosophically.

Wow! That seemed like a very much personal and deep expression. Thanks for sharing that with us!
