Here are some minor points

  • The merfolk can attack offscreen
  • When jumping onto a still crate the player catches the crate but drops to the water (and takes dmg) which took me by surprise
  • I still have no idea what's up with the cackling and what for are the crystals?

That all being said let me clarify this game is amazing in every aspect and I have a strong suspicion it's gonna be one of the winners. Also, the corpse from the previous run is just great.

I'm here from the future to say that this game won the jam and that my game got last

The stand out entry of this jam, for a game made in 48 hours it has an insane amount of polish.

Awesome game! This is probably one of the best entries out there.

This game is so good, really impressed. I love the balance of swimming and damage, and moving the bits of raft around is super interesting. The art is top, the music is great.

This game has a lot of "meat" for just a 48 dev time. Pretty challenging but it really hooks you in and its kinda addicting.  Maybe ramps up the difficulty too fast but still absolutely amazing submission! Cool and fitting audio too. All around great job!

Submitted

Alrighty! It's almost a ready-for-release product. Make several game modes for complexity :)

Great job y'all! There's such a great ebb and flow of tension to the gameplay here.

I'd love to see this idea developed further: 2-box challenges, river raiders stealing your blocks, different block types -- there's a lot of potential to really run with the rock-solid core you have here!

Very very impressive! No wonder you are one of the top rated games :)

Really well done!
