Amazing work! I'm a big fan of pirates, endless blue seas, and the spirit of adventure - and this game provides all of that! I loved everything — the voice-made sound design (especially when the game denies an action), the music, the art style!

As for the theme - I was genuinely scared to press the "Set Sail" button. Do I have enough cookies? Will there be pirates?

It was a bit confusing at first, but once I realized how to make money, it started to feel really good.

I encourage you to make a full version - perhaps with a distinct crew that you get to know during adventures? Imagine sidetracking to an island to learn a bit more about your crewmates and stuff. I yap a bit too much. This game reminded me of Divinity: Original Sin 2 for some reason and I got all excited :D

Thanks for playing and the kind words!

We try to make the game more clear after the jam with more tipps and by fixing some gamedesign errors. The comparison with DOS2 gave me a giggle! Only 90hours more gameplay to go!

Cute game. I had a lot of fun with it until but had to give up after hitting wall and running out of money. I reached a point where the only way to progress was to fight some pirates but I had zero cookies and zero gold so I was unable to progress. Over all love the concept, it was a sillytime!

Thanks for playing and leaving feedback! I agree, the balancing is off. We will try to adress this post jam

I wasn't expecting to play a pirate game today but what a treat! I made it to the final harbor but then couldn't acquire the biscuits needed to battle the pirates.

I think my only suggestion would be to have the game "pause" while the tutorial pop ups are up. I feel like I missed out on some opportunities because I was reading/processing the tutorial and missing out on some of the timed gameplay elements.

Overall a fun game! I liked the art style a lot! The sound effects and music suited the game as well. Really impressive for a game jam!

Developer

Very kind of you giving our game a try and leaving great feedback! The pause while the pop ups are on screen is going to be implemented after the game jam.

I had fun playing this, it was very smart, well done, and the graphics were adorable. My only issues were that things continued while a tutorial was popped up and I was too focused on that to read/understand the tutorial. And I couldn't tell if I had an end goal apart from don't sink. Very fun though, and good job!

Developer

Thanks for playing! The popup problem will be fixed after the jam, you are not the only one giving us feedback to this specific problem. Thanks!

Super creative, I love your take on the theme! The visuals are incredible, and the music and sound effects fit well. It took me a little while to figure out I had to actually drag the cookies and not only click on them, but after that everything was fine! I liked the structure with the map > the sea > the harbor, it gives great pace, and the events at sea keep the game entertaining.
I hope you keep working on it, it's a very good entry, congratulations!

A well-made and well-polished game, very enjoyable to play, the visuals and animations are amazing, the sounds are good. The only problem is, when you run out of money, you can buy cookies for free.
Game page is truly astonishing
Amazing job!!

Thanks for giving our game a try!

Well the 0 money and possibility to buy was a last minute decision we intentionally made, because the player could get stuck... So a needed super quick solution for not having enough time coming up with a better solution! haha

Fun little game with simple, yet very engaging gameplay. Visuals are definitely the cherry on top here!

Keep up the good work!

Incredible work with the sort, not bad music, and in general you only want to praise the game. But there are small downsides. I say this not out of malice, but so that you can fix it in the future. For example, there is not enough polishing. For example, when I collect some items, for some reason there is no sound. In general, with the sounds there is some problem, but nothing terrible. As it is, the game is good. And I would like to keep track of the ship a little bit more. But in any case, an excellent game for 7 days, well done

Developer

Thanks for the detailed feedback! I agree, that a bit more polish would be nice, but time was not on our side. A couple of soundeffects didnt make it into the game, and so also a couple of final implementation codewise aswell.

There were some thoughts on implementing a shipmanagement, but it was on our "could have" list, and well no item from this list made it to the game. haha

Thanks again for playing!

Great visuals, the ui is very polished

Great art

Very very very well done! The visuals are magnificent, also the UI and the animations!! The game idea is very solid and I could only see a bug: when you run out of money and you are sailing, you can buy infinite cookies. But it's good anyways, because the game is hard as it is! Maybe it needs some more balancing, to be able to earn some money or to get more biscuits.

I really hope you keep on with this project, because it's beautiful, fun, and if you could achieve this in such a short amount of time, you can do a very good indie game with some more time! Really. It has a lot of identity and potential.

Congratulations for all the hard work and for that optimal skills you have in your team!

As someone who binged various videos on ship biscuits the game made me laugh. The mechanics are really interesting and pleasing. I love the mini challenges the crew enconters but I lost to a pirateship because they ask a type of cookie I didn't have nor could buy I guess (all chocolate). But still really cool and original, I really like it.

The next scallywag with the gumption to sneak a raspbery galette loses the finger he dips it into his milk with, and he’ll be lucky to see aught but wormcastles for a fortnight, hold the castles!

This game RULES, I love that you use your “cargo” for every single game action, so you’re really trying to skate by with as little loss as possible in every interaction. Charting a course through the different islands was a really fun puzzle, I made a healthy 793 by detouring to drop off filled cookies to the rich people. The hazards were all distinct enough that it felt like I had to get different parts of my brain moving right when I’m already worried about losing morale because my guys won’t stop asking for half-dipped.

It’s so pretty too! The bakery-boat is charming as heck, I love all the funky little guys manning the ports, the storms getting worse the further you get in is a fun touch too.

This game rules and I’d happily play an expanded version! Imagine a version where you cross between multiple maps that change every playthrough. Awesome stuff.

Thank you for the indepth feedback! Your words are really encouraging!

Good job by making it to the end and not let your crew down!

Excellent game, will polished , unique idea and very hard work i see

Developer

Thank you for playing our game and giving us feedback! Means a lot!

Very unique concept, great art and execution. Its very hard to keep the morale of the crew, the economy makes it very challenging, but I have fun. Keep up the good work!

Thanks for playing and giving us feedback! Being a biscuit trader is a brutal business!

Exellent game. I only found the drag and drop feature a little tiring in the long run and maybe not enough risk/reward potential in choosing the islands itinerary. But overall it is really good quality content for this limited timespan, good work!

Developer

The original idea was to have riskier routes but with more rewards. Sadly due to time constrains we couldnt implent it in time.

Thanks for playing and commenting!

Thanks for playing!

I had fun recording the sounds with my daughter! Sadly there was no time for any additional soundeffects we planned.

One of the most polished games I’ve played yet. Bravo, I had a lot of fun!
