Those Brownies are pretty cool. And the music is very enjoyable and fitting for the game. The book sorting puzzle was a bit confusing, but, all in all, good job!
Thanks for playing. Yeah, we need to do some polish on the book sorting.
Super cute! I love love love turning into a flower, that is such an awesome way to show stealth (same with the shrinking). I hope you update it post jam, it’s definitely feels like just a slice of what it could be. Even though not all the minigames supported controller, I’m thankful you did most of them. Skimming your replies, you made all the right choices given the circumstances. Great work!
Thanks for playing. Glad you enjoyed. We did intend for controller support on everything, but it was overlooked on the book sorting until too late. We almost left it out because of the lack, but didn't have time to replace it or add the support, so left it in as-is. If we do a bigger update we will certainly add controller support. For now we have a small update planned post-jam with some minor changes, and unlocking the houses so you can explore any house, instead of just the one assigned. We may come back to this in the future, but for now we have other games we want to finish up.
its a sweet game and cool idea, i did my part with helping the humans :D
The whole map looks like it took a lot of effort, but i didnt find any interaction possible other then entering the house and doing the minigames. So i finished the game but not sure if i missed something else in town.
Thanks for playing.
There are a couple dragons hidden around the map (no interaction), but mostly it is just the stealth area for getting to the houses. We did have plans for some outdoor mini-games, but they did not make it in.
Fun game, I liked the mini-games, especially cleaning the dishes. The art was also nice. Nice job!
Thanks for playing. Glad you liked it.
Nice little game, I liked the mini games because they're not time-based and I can take my time with them :D Enjoyed the flower disguise as well but it was too easy to avoid being seen so it didn't have much impact 🤔 overall I enjoyed the game
Thanks for the feedback. Glad you enjoyed. We had planned for people to do more, including be inside, but ran out of time. For jams we also favor being easier so most people can complete the game quickly while they are checking out many games.
That's very thoughtful!
Very well-executed package! nice little adventure and felt good running around in this world. Well done!
Thanks for playing. Glad you liked it.
Nice game! The minigames were enjoyable and I had fun overall, nice entry :)
Thanks for playing. Glad you enjoyed.
Cool game! the accessibility options where amazing, and the mini games where very well done. Overall a great concept and very well executed. I had fun throughout the playthrough! You did a great job.
Thanks for the feedback. Glad you enjoyed.
Cute game, would have liked to see more mini games and opportunies to go to more houses, but i think it's a neat idea with great artwork that fits the theme very well.
Nice work!
Thanks for the feedback. We had a lot more planned mini-games, but ran out of time to integrate them. You were supposed to be able to pick your house, rather than have one randomly assigned, but again, time constraints meant the UI for that never made it in.
This was very cute! Loved the art and the idea was great! Would have loved a few more days / levels, and maybe a person in the house you had to hide from too, but there's only so much that can be done in a game jam - great work :D
Thanks for the feedback. Multiple days and people inside were among several other things planned, but we ran out of time.
Nicely done, original idea.
Not completely sure I like all the mini games, though. :D
Thanks for playing. The mini-games do need a bit more polish. We also wanted there to be a lot more and you could choose which ones to do, with a time limit so you couldn't do them all in 1 day.
Interesting premise, there's a lot of games where you have to use stealth to kill or steal, but rarely to help ^^
Works well with the theme and I liked the mini games! Only issue was it was a bit too short. Nice job.
Thanks for playing. We had a lot more planned, including having it progress over several days, but ran out of time.
The character feels really good to control. There's a bit of information overload at the beginning with you showing the player all the possible buttons. I would of maybe only told the player certain buttons when it first became relevant. But it's also a jam, so I get why you didn't do that . All the towns folk seemed to get bunched up in the corner of the map at the beginning of the game. I'm assuming that's on purpose. Quick question, what's a Brownie and why do they do chores? Good entry, congrats.
Thanks for the feedback. We had complaints in the past of people not knowing what the controls were, so add them to the start of our new games, along with the option to view them in game at any time by pressing tab. In the post-jam update they will also be shown on the pause screen. For this game I wash we had also added the "Use Tool" button list to the mini-game that used it, since that is the only place it is used.
Some people start in the parking lot, as if returning from work, with staggered timing for when they start to head home. We had some issues with the navigation where they were getting stuck at times. We added some logic to adjust their movement when stuck, but did not have time to refine it or fully implement the collision avoidance. Usually they can get free after a bit.
Brownies are a type of fae (fairy) from Scottish folklore that help people at night. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brownie_(folklore)
I liked the variety of mini games and the detail that went into the world but I wish there was a bit more challenge because it felt very easy to avoid the people.
Thanks for the feedback. We tend to favor making our jam games easier, though this one was a bit too easy. We wanted to do a lot more but tried to do too much, and ran out of time to expand the movement logic for the people you have to avoid. One major piece that didn't make it in was adding sound detection as well as visual.
The whole presentation of the game is really cute, I really like it! The town is so large and there are so many houses, I would have loved to have an incentive to explore it more!
And nice to see many settings and full input remapping implemented, thank you for taking the time! Though I admit that I forgot what the "Use tool" button was when I got to the broom minigame, so I would have like to have a way to see the actual mapping in game, maybe through a pause menu!
Great job!
Thanks for the feedback. There was a lot more planned, but we ran out of time. The biggest thing we regret not getting implemented was starting the day by getting info on each house (such as who lives there, and which brownie takes care of it) and picking the one you want to go to. Each house was designed around certain people and personality.
You can press Tab (by default) to see the controls in-game, though adding it to the pause screen as well would be a good idea. The sweeping mini-game was added just before submission, and I did acknowledge that the "Use Tool" button had not been used before then, and it really could use with a reminder. Given more time I'd have liked to add a reminder of using Tab to see the controls, or putting the "Use Tool" buttons themselves on screen during the mini-game.
Thanks for playing.
The town was charming, and I loved the mini games, nicely done!
Thanks for playing.
Nice! I also took on the challenge of multiple minigames within one larger game. Certainly increases the scope!
Thanks. We certainly bit off a bit too much with this one. We have a few more mini-games that were not finished in time. It was a challenge, but also fun.
Oh, I liked that there were a bunch of mini-games all within one larger game - and yeah, agree that it would be interesting to see humans implemented on the inside of the houses as well for that extra challenge of moving around inside. I was a little confused being sure, after the second chore, if I was completely done or not, as you're not told you should go back to the tree house until you've committed yourself and stepped outside the house. If there was a clearer signal that all chores inside a house were completed that might remove that bit of hesitation.
Thanks for the feedback! We ran out of time and missed several things we wanted to add. The message to go back to the tree house was a last minute addition to make sure the player knew where to go when exiting, but you are right that it should have been inside when you finished the chores. Thanks for playing.
great game
Thanks.
