That was a great setup! Kinda reminded me of COD zombies mod :D I do think the "hole" theme could have been developed a bit more, but that's a minor issue.

Overall, solid shooting, nice audio and really creepy vibes. Can't wait to see what future updates have in store ;)

Developer

Thank you for the kind feedback!! Thanks so much for playing :) Really appreciate it!

Good solid shooter. A little bit to easy tho. But you will look into these things in the future, i guess. Well done

Developer

Thanks a lot for playing! Yeah great feedback, it's already on my to do list!

Yooo, you legitamately made a survival shooter tho! That's dope, dude! I made it through all 7 days, and I actually had some moments that gave me a bit of a jump. If you added just a bit more polish like fog, some furniture, and some lighting changes you would have something SUPER viable.

ALSO, is there a secret room on the second floor?

Developer(+1)

Thanks so much for the kind words man! I'm definitely going to develop this further so thanks for the tips! And there isn't a secret room that I know of (or is there??) ;-)

Even though the style wasn't anything hyper realistic. You really struck it home with the audio. At the first wave before the enemies spawned I was rather anxiously waiting for something to appear and then you started to hear numbers and a slowly moving robot. One possible improvement is that maybe check how could you make it so, that the robots could lose limbs but still continue.

Developer

Thanks for the feedback and for playing! That's a great idea. Glad you liked the vibes :) I'll be working on graphical improvements for future versions.

To be honest, That style there could work, like very simplified style. It just has to be made so that it looks like it's not placeholder but intentional. Also btw, it was a great idea that the robot didn't run at you, but pretty slowly walked. When you started to hear the numbers from somewhere around the house, it was creepy :D

Developer

Haha great, thanks! Well, right now the house is literally a placeholder for models haha, so there still work to do :)

Submitted(+1)

Yeah, well that's understandable. But for example if you'd pursue same kind of model style like in SUPERHOT. that'd work perfectly with the theme.

Developer

True! Stylization is everything. Thanks

Submitted(+1)

It was very fun.I died at wave 6 though XD. The audio was rather unsettling. The visuals are rather nice as well. My only complaint is that I wish the sound for the robots breaking down the wooden planks was different from the sound for when you set them up. Other than that, absolutely loved it :)

Developer

Haha nice, sad to hear they got you mate :P It's good to hear it's creepy too! Good feedback, thanks a lot for playing.

Fun game for sure! very tense when you turn and those quiet robots  are just behind you xD spooky.

It could actually fit the theme way better with few little tweaks:

You could add a transparent shader effect on windows that makes it seem like the robots are coming from other dimension. add voice lines like "get in the hole!", "Hail hole!!!" to play at random to give it a purpose and a story.(well then my game had no actual story either)

weapon system improvements:

If gun had reloading, it would be more fun(for a horror game) because that delay tense up the player for a moment. making shotgun limited and adding a pistol with unlimited ammo, with a chance of shotgun bullets being dropped by the robots would be great. If you are adding shotgun, make sure there can be multiple enemies so player can one shot more than 1 enemy.

simple visual improvements:

make the game darker, and give player a torch to take some info from player. very important for a horror game. you could make the robot head light glow with emissive material. or maybe you wanted to make sure it works smooth on most pcs instead of making it high graphics? do use more particle system. it just adds to stuff.

But I understand you didn't have much time and unlike me you actually made everything yourself within the jam time. I used my own old weapon system code and tweaked it into my game.  So good work! making animation work with the game is also work that i avoided.

All the best!

Thanks for the great feedback, it's really appreciated man!!

verry cool game

I love the theme very much and the way the intensity of the light fit the horror theme and every other object in the game

I loved that camera effect very imersive

Good work

I enjoyed

Developer

Thanks so much for the feedback man! Really appreciate the kind words :D

A fun game. One thing I would maybe add is ammo. Per wave you get this amount of ammo. Spend it wisely. Something along those lines. The game has a few bugs such as textures / object clipping through each other or the monsters just running through the windows. Otherwise, a fun game!

Developer(+1)

Thanks so much for playing and critiqueing the game! I do agree with everything you said, and most of it stems from a lack of time in the last days, but I'll continue development for sure!

ngl, I really hate horror, so the first thing I did was optimise the horror out of it. I didn't repair windows (except in between waves). I camped a corner and shot anything that moved. I am perfectly happy with this, but I'd imagine you wouldn't want people camping. On the first wave I moved around, but once I'd settled, it was smooth sailing (once again, probs not what you want). Awesome menu, and the sound effects are pretty cool.

Developer

Thanks so much for playing and the really good feedback! I do agree, I'd love for people to have to roam around (maybe defend different objectives, etc?) during the waves. Camping shouldn't be the best strategy, but it's a bit too easy atm haha. And let's say you might have given me a great idea for an easter egg with that code, so stay tuned for future versions ^^

good game

Developer

thanks for playing and the compliments!

It just need a little refinement here and there. But I can't see how this game's related to theme of "holes".

Developer

Thanks for playing! I got the idea of using the windows as 'holes' in the house, which enemies can enter through. You have to fix the holes in order to slow them down by barricading. It's a little bit of a stretch, but I liked the concept well enough that I still went for it ;)

Amazing :)

just needs some shadows.

Developer

Lighting is definitely on the list of 2Do's! Thanks for the feedback and playing!

Developer

Awhhyeah thanks for tryng Shad! :D

Submitted(+1)

dude how are those robots so creepy? One would think zombies would be creepier but the way you can hear their distant number chanting is so unsettling lol. Really fun game, I thoroughly enjoyed it. Give mine a try too :)

Developer(+1)

Hahah, thank you so much for the compliments! I'm kinda glad how they turned out, because before they were silent and quite boring :P I'm super glad you enjoyed that, definitely will check out yours of course ^^

Submitted(+1)

It´s a really fun game. I like how the robots break through the windows, making the game harder over time by giving other robots free entrence.

Developer

Yeah, that's the idea! Thanks so much for playing man :D

Submitted(+1)

Good game, keep going :D

Developer

Thankyooooouuuu <3

I seemed to jump scare myself even though i had an unlimited ammo...... Really cool game

Developer(+1)

Haha you don't even want to know how the development process was for me, someone who actually hates the horror genre, constant jumpscares xD

Submitted(+1)

Please rate my game, I really need ratings

Developer

Yeah I'll play all the games of everyone who commented on my game, I just need some time ;) It's quite a lot!

#no_theme

Developer

As written in an earlier comment, my interpretation of the theme was actually that the house has all kinds of holes which the enemies can enter through (windows), that you gotta patch up in order to stop them. So in that case the theme is implemented in the core gameplay! But I get that people could be confused about it tho. But Imo a theme is just there to center creativity about and limit the infinit pool of ideas that you might have before a jam, so going a bit beyond it should be fine :)
