Great art and game concept, struggled to get any items so either I'm just bad or the difficulty curve starts a little high

Developer

Thanks! I guess after some trys you would figure things out :D

I'm a sucker for art like this. I love it. I love the office layout, just makes me want to design it manually.

Honestly it's a bit difficult. Seems like the little dude isn't fast enough for half the jobs. I guess you have to click closer to the request, but one request detour can put you completely out of sync and you cant really recover.

But, I can see the appeal of making it more challenging as its a short experience.

Well done overall!

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much for your kind words!
You're right, you kinda have to rely on RNG to not get a job which is far away / at a similar point of time at opposite directions

Art was amazing, but the gameplay grew stale a little too fast! Maybe adding in more robots that could complete different jobs so you would have to have more to micro-manage! Great game overall though!
I would really appreciate it if you could check my game out!

Developer

That was my original plan. But I noticed having two or more robots on this level was way too much, which is why my plan was to design a bigger one.. but I ran out of time :D

I will make sure to do that :)

i love the office vibe of this game -the washed out, de-saturated color palette is perfect!  love the pixel art -really well done and the sound design was great!  Really challenging and hard to keep up with the demands but a really fun and unique approach to the jam theme -excellent work on this!! :D

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much! :) Yea, the asset author really did a good job on this one!

The presentation, from the art to the sounds to the animations are all really well executed. I saw in the comments that it's mostly premade, but even still, the way everything is put together compositionally and how it all just seems to fit is done quite well.

I think most of my critiques have already been said. It's tricky to click the little robot running around (I'm on my laptop right now and the trackpad doesn't really help :) so I won't fault that too much), but the game might lose something without that element and get too easy. It's a little short, for me the time limit could have probably been 2x. Got 130, but I might try again.

Great work

Developer

Thank you very much, appreciate it! :) I could not imagine playing this with a trackpad xD

Fun idea but I feel like the window to fill tasks is too short for how the robot moves/controls

Developer

Thanks! Agree, you kinda have to rely on RNG at this one

Love the artstyle

Thank you :) make sure to check out the original asset author

Cute little game! I liked the description a lot, was well written and funny!

I think I might disagree a bit with some of the other comments, I found having to click the robot to be a small part of the game, since you would need to keep track of where he is. I think it would just help if his hitbox was larger, so you didn't have to be precise with the clicks.

Game like this, (I'm thinking overcooked, or other "manage customer orders" games) are at their best when the pace is very hectic but remains manageable. When you are just barely keeping up with all of your ability. I think that is lacking within this, since the robot moves at a fixed pace. Most of the time you spend is looking for the item, but once you've done that you just wait.

I think looking for the items around the room is a cool idea, since its a unique addition to the genre. But, I think that some of the pixel art needs to be changed, since sometimes the requested item would look a lot like decoration (mostly the paper).

I think that the bubbles could be more noticeable, since even when I was trying to watching over the whole room I would still miss them coming up. Maybe have some sort of small alert or animation for then appearing, since they should be easily noticed even when not paying attention to them.

I think having more time between bubbles would help, since it feels very precise right now. But you've said you wanted to have multiple robots, and I think that would be a great addition. Maybe having different robots only able to do specific tasks, so you have to watch over where all of them are and micro-manage all of them.

Maybe having only some robots able to do a specific task that is only on one side of the room. But if they aren't doing their task, they will wander around. So you need to also keep moving them back near their zone so they don't get too far away for when you do need them.

Just some random ideas, nice job!

I was about to comment then I saw yours and basically covered everything I want to say and more lol.

Developer

Appreciate your comprehensive feedback a lot! I totally agree with your points, those would be the things I would work on to improve the overall gameplay. Especially the point at making it hectic but manageable, that's kinda the spirit I was going for. :)

Fun times! Took me a minute to get into the swing of it but then it was smooth sailing!

Developer

Thanks! Glad to hear that :)

Great art and loved the background ambient noise!

The top down view of the open building works really well!

Developer

Thanks! :)

Good game! The art is really cood, and reminded me of Pokemon. The UI is nice and actually thought of! The idea is nice, but I feel like it got cut, and the game do end abrupt. Having more robots would indeed make the game more chaotic and so, more fun. But the “searching for the item” / where’s waldo kinda gameplays works well too ! I do agree that the starting text is a bit too long, if a game need to stay something, it’s better though gameplay or animation I think, but that’s a personnal preference ^^ I would’ve love to hear some custom musics and sound effects ! GG

Developer

I would've loved to have an intro sequence kinda thingy :) but well, there s only so much you can do with the time constraint, guess thats part of the deal with joining a game jam :D

Appreciate your feedback!

Nice art and a pretty good concept! Great game overall.

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much!

Submitted(+1)

Humorous idea lol. One thing - it seems a bit unnecessary to have to click on the robot each time. You could instead just have us click the item then the person to bring it to.

Developer(+1)

Thanks :) you're absolutely right! As I commented on the other ones stating that. Originally the plan was to control multiple robots.. but I noticed that it was too much given the small level :/

Submitted(+1)

Nice game - agree with others that clicking the robot every time can be kinda tedious

Developer

Thanks for your feedback :)  As I commented on the other ones stating that. Originally the plan was to control multiple robots.. but I noticed that it was too much given the small level :/

Submitted(+1)

That's a cool concept ! I just feel like there is no need to click on the robot, except if you plan on having more than one (each one for specific objects for example ?). It kind of slow the whole thing down. But that was funny ! My score is 130 but I missed a lot of items :)

Developer(+1)

I noticed that afterwards as well  tbh :D
Originally planned was to manage multiple robots, but then I noticed that more than one was too much for this small level. But I totally agree with you!

Submitted(+1)

This is a overall positive review, but I gotta say first, the intro message was SO LONG.

other than that its fun, nice visuals, the items and the robot are a bit small, so it was really hard to play,

i would love to see a full release with slightly bigger graphics and an intro sequence telling the story (i know that 3 days is not much)

GOOD job tho

Developer(+1)

I agree :D
My original idea was to include multiple (bigger) levels anyways :)

Submitted(+1)

Awesome game! The idea is really nice, but I do agree with Tiki720 in that when people ask for something a sound or something like that could play. I managed to get a score of 170.

Submitted(+1)

The art is really cool! Although I will say it was annoying having to click on the robot every time because his sprite is so tiny, also my robot would occasionally get stuck. Also, like some other people have said I wish there were more sound effects to let you know when people want stuff.

Developer

Your feedback is very much appreciated :) it's nice to get feedback by other players because I noticed that you are kinda getting blind working on your own game :D

Submitted

Oh yeah I get the same thing, usually I make my games way too hard because I've been playtesting it for a whole weekend

Submitted(+1)

Your team did so well with the art, I am beyond impressed

Developer

Thanks, but actually I worked alone and only with premade assets on it :) I am not that great of a designer, I'm more familiar on the coding side :D

Submitted(+1)

This is a really nice game! Really simple, and decently fun, but there were also some issues. I found the items very hard to see and click. I didn't notice that someone wanted something (maybe play a sound effect or have the popup draw more attention at the start). And I found that it was annoying having the AI move somewhere random without telling me (maybe show when it is doing this to remove the unknown element).

Developer

Guess sometimes you are getting "blind" while working on your own game :D but I do agree with you, that would have been nicer :)
