Wow, just wow. This is Surgeon Simulator except it feels amazing instead of frustrating.

Everything sounds just right, once i got the hang of the controls I was immediately absorbed into this state of focus manipulating both arms, it's so smooth and there's something inherently satisfying about breaking the little boxes and discs apart. I just wish there were even more complex objects or maybe the orientation of them would change a bit to keep the player on their toes more than the timer already does. I would genuinely put money down on this.

Good game! Instructions were unclear at first, though.

Nice game for a game jam, fit the theme really well

Difficult to get the hang of! Great idea for a game mechanic!

Very cool idea!

This game definitely has a bit of a learning curve, but once you realize what you're supposed to be doing and how to best be doing it, it gets very fun! The mirroring at first was confusing, but once you learn how to use it correctly it makes much more sense.

I found myself continuing to play the game even after I had thought "I have probably gone through every object already." Which I think is a great sign of a good game!

I feel like there could be more explored with controlling both sides at the same time, since I never really changed the robot off of the (magnet?) grabber. I saw the potential with changing both for the screws, but never did since I found it easier to just keep it all simple and do it myself. I think increasing the incentive to change the robot to different tools would help a lot, maybe by making some of the objects be pretty tedious if you were to do the entire thing, making the player half their time by using both.

I think that there could be some objects that maybe require 2 tools to be used at once, to force the player to change the robots tools and work in tandem.

I think that the time could've also been implemented better, I never found myself getting stressed by the time. Once I got it down I always had at least 100 seconds left. I think that flipping the time to count up and adding a score system would help a lot, since then players are rewarded for going faster, but not punished for going slow.

Working with Ai is mostly in the theme, since you do control the AI directly.

Really cool idea! Nice work!

Good job! The whole mirror image was a really good idea - it massively confused me at first but the further along I got as my hand eye coordination adjusted, the quicker I became at moving around. An interested, well executed concept.

Nice idea with the mirror system :D

FEEDBACKS :

- Z and X are weird on AZERTY keyboard

- I can't do anything after press the first button =S

- nice music though

- clamp seems weird :

Developer

I'm sorry to hear that you weren't able to play, but thanks for trying it out!

I had issues with resolution and the size of the camera when I built the game, but in the end, I was not able to fix it. That might mean that something important was cut off, so you were not able to continue.

The clamp was designed like that so you could see through it at parts underneath, but also see where the gripper is when the arm is not able to reach. If I had more time I would have made the smaller one disappear when not needed.

Interesting game. Kinda challenging.

Really entertaining game, I had a lot of fun playing it! Gets repetitive after a while but thats understandable in a game made in 3 days :) I love that you introduce new tools over time and that they are color coded. Great entry overall!

Took a while to understand the controls and get the hang of the flow but once I fully understood the basic gameplay, it was really cool! Great Idea! Really Creative as well. The only part that I struggled a bit in was clicking the tools and parts. It needed quite a bit of precision which hindered the flow of gameplay.

Really Creative Submission! Sound Design was clean too! Hopefully you can rate my submission as well.

Neat idea! As noted by others it kind of breaks down into leaving the grabber in the robots hand and doing everything else with the human tools. I think the tools also needed a bit too much precision clicking for my taste. Could definitely grow into something fun to master.

Developer

Thank you for the review and for trying out my game. I tried to fix the precision clicking issue with an extra circle collider for everything small (wires and screws), but some parts are still hard to pick up.

Super cool game! It took a bit getting used to, but it was fun after I mastered it.

Developer

Thanks. I'm glad you liked it

I first really had a struggle undesrtanding everything but apart the one time I got stuck, I somehow liked the fact that it was hard when the next run I was unerstanding a little more the robot movement and the place to click to remove the metal part. I really felt like some kind of surgeon when I survived a box with 0.08 second, that was amazing. The fact that there a robot, doing my movement in mirror, really blowed my mind and then I mastered it and I felt like a pro. I don't know if this type of game exist but I would really like a complete release on mobile and Pc. Minor issue: you should change the z,x control for right an left mouse or put it in the setting. Overall this almost seem like a complete game. I am impressed!

Thank for telling me about my old game I upload by error, here the one I made for this jam... https://itch.io/jam/wowie-jam-4/rate/1663864 if you have the time to check it out

I appreciate you reviewing and rating my game.

I also felt really skilled after testing my game all through development! I'm not sure where I'll use this skill though...

I really enjoyed the UI on the menu, and the arm is very quick and polished. Great work!

Developer

Thanks for taking the time to review and rate my game!

The UI was the last thing I did, so it benefited from my increasing skill at using GIMP, but also suffered from only having a couple of hours before the deadline.

This game is excellent for the time limit! The main gameplay loop is very fun, and I'm impressed with the number of unique boxes there are in the game! The one issue I have with the gameplay is that the human and robot sides both have the same set of tools, except for the green ones. So eventually I found the strategy of simply leaving the green tool in the robot hand and only switching the human's tools. If both sides had different tools, the scrambling to find the right tool would be a lot of fun, I think.

The only other critique I have of this game is that there is no tutorial. You should never overlook the tutorial in games, they are crucial to the player's enjoyment. I almost gave up because I couldn't figure out the controls. Aside from that, I really enjoyed it. Fantastic job!

Developer

Thanks for the comment and review of my game :)

I'm glad you liked the number of boxes. I was worried they wouldn't be very unique, but I didn't want to add too much colour in case it confused the player. Instead, I made a lot of them.

As for the tools, I originally intended for there to be less time for the player to take things apart, requiring switching tools more often.  I wasn't able to playtest the game before the deadline so sadly it ended up being easier than I hoped. With a similar theme of lack of time, I wish I was able to create a better tutorial, but I settled on the tools appearing when you need them as a simple and quick solution.
