I think I’ve found the next best thing to Letterpress! Visuals are great, I love the music, and the feel of this game is so polished, it almost seems like something I’d find on the App Store.
I’d love to see mobile versions of this game!

This game is imminently polished and is great with a nice soundtrack. The only complaint I have with this game is that some of the words come in the boxes which can mess up your combo. Other than that this is an amazing game nice job.
Not really sure how it fits the theme however, the game looks and feels great. A very polished and fun game, well done!

I don't speak english fluently. So this is the kind of game I can't appreciate like it deserves. But what I can see is polish, polish, polish. Great work.
I don't know english very well (at least, not at the level for playing this game xD), so i was kinda placing random pieces and just hoping for the best, and to not lose... It was still fun (^D^)
Very well made game, really enjoyed solving the puzzle, there were many new words that i've never even heard of that I solved, lol. Overall great game, just asking is adding rotation for tiles good or not for this game? good luck for the jam!
Yeah adding thought it might make it too complicated (and some people are already playing it without even looking at the letters). I might try how it works after the jam rating period is over.

Amazing, polished game for such a short time.
Superb game! I love many word puzzles so this is right up my alley. Also, thank god for obscure words barely anyone knows about. Saved me quite a few times.
Wish the cursor would disappear when you drag a block.
I absolutely loved this game! It was such a calming puzzle game, and it kept me coming back for another round over and over. The little character fellow helped add some charm to the game and made it feel just that bit more personal, which was great. Some of the words did feel a bit strange - acronyms especially - which didn't help with the mechanic of avoiding placing words for greater reward, but it did help when the board was almost full and I discovered something new. The definitions at the bottom were a nice addition too, which did help with the problem of confusing words, so that was nice. The leaderboard was a great feature as well, and the game overall was really well made - brilliant work!

Haha yeah, the jam was around maybe like halfway for me and I was pretty much done feature wise and I already had that 'nice' sound when making words and somehow it reminded me of Mortal Kombat and that toasty thing. So the mascot was born! I'm not a native English speaker so the word definitions were a feature I really added because of my own annoyance while playing early on and thinking "what, that can't be a word".
Man this has some incredible polish for a game jam! The addition of the little character really adds to the overall charm, and the general aesthetic and presentation is just fantastic. Some great juice with the words highlighting and exploding as well, especially once you've racked up a decent score multiplier.
I like the idea of "failing" to create words adding to a score multiplier -- it adds a good risk/reward dynamic that keeps the game interesting -- but I feel it's foiled a bit by some of the blocks already containing three-letter words that automatically trigger and break your multiplier. The RNG aspect of what letters/blocks you get could also be a little frustrating at times, but on the other hand it also adds to the replayability -- if you were to expand on this in the future, maybe being able to "save" a single block for later could help with this.
Overall, honestly the best submission I've played so far, and there were a ton of great submissions. Fantastic job!

Yeah I know it kinda sucks how the RNG can screw your game up quite royally. But some of these things that you mentioned are indeed on my backlog now for a possible post jam version: removing ready words from blocks, block saving ala new school tetris, block rotation.
This has an incredible amount of polish! I wouldn't have guessed this was done during a game jam.
Cool concept, really nice visuals with plenty of little juicy details, mechanically solid.
Your interpretation of the theme as a sort of "risk vs reward" is definitely unique as well.

Great game, sadly I'm not a word/spelling master so I probably wasn't able to get the full effect, and instead place blocks randomly, which works quite well.
super clever, the only issue is getting random 3 letter words you didn't know about and having that mess up your plan
