Wow! Leaderboard is a very cool feature in this game!
Dare I say the most polished game of this jam, congratulations :D
This game was extremely innovative and very well processed! I love the sound effects used in this and the music choice added in this game. This reeally felt like a word game I usually play on mobile. Amazing job on this game entry and amazing work on the polish!
Holy moly, what a game. This feels like it was made by a game studio.
The graphics are smooth, the idea is unique. I really enjoyed this one.
I am blown away by this one; there's even a leaderboard.
Amazing game!
By far the most polished game i have seen so far, good job
cool and fun!
really polish!
The amount of polish that you pumped in this is actually insane! 11/10 stars
I am completely hooked on this game lol! Amazing !!
Amazing game for one weekend! Spent more time playing this than I probably should have haha. Anyways easy 5/5 from me.
I'm honestly amazed at what you made in such a short time.
My one complaint would be the music. While nice, it's pretty distracting for a puzzle game.
The way you included the theme was subtle. I like that failing to make a word builds your combo. That's an interpretation that hadn't occurred to me.
Very impressive! The risk reward is cool, I think it doesn't really quite fit the theme as it's not really messing with failure/success states but, you continuously progress towards success anyway, it seems.
Excellent concept! I love this game. Good job.
I really like this. It also makes you look smarter than you are by revealing words you didn't even know existed
The polish on this is UNBELIEVABLE!! Super cool concept, it gets really tricky! Love the way you tied it into the theme with the multiplier. :D
Really enjoyable! Excellent concept and gameplay! Love the leaderboard! Awesome!
This is one of the coolest games of the jam cool combination of tetris and scrabble
A very enjoyable game. Surprisingly polished and finished.
But even in my native language this kind of game is very difficult for me. And I can't play it in English.
Fun game and really good considering this jam only lasted for three days. Did you take any inspiration from bookworm adventures by any chance? The main character was also named lex and made similar noises to this character.
Umm, no. I know of the game but never played or even seen it. I guess the Lex name is kinda obvious choice though cause in both cases it is a play on lexicon. This style of noises on "speech" is kinda my goto nowadays. I think the inspiration mainly comes from Animal Crossing even though their system is way more in depth than my "just record a bunch of syllables and play them randomly on start of a word". And as a funny trivia, these syllables are what from Finnish words for few cat and dog family species. The sound quality is quite horrible too. They were recorded with a laptop mic and the room is way too echoey too since I moved quite recently and don't have curtains etc on my office.
Oh, I understand. Well, it seems like your technique worked, as I think it adds a bit to the game and makes it feel more polished :)
Damn, this is really polished with cure visuals, great sounds, and a LEADERBOARD WHAAAT?! Really well-done man, 5/5
Found that I began placing the tetronimoes based on their shape as opposed to thinking about the letters. Fun puzzle idea though with great polish.
Of course you can play like that and will most likely net some average points if lucky enough too. But I think everyone past a thousand points at least is playing "properly". I very much doubt it'd be possible (or at least likely) to get that much by just luck alone.
