Was curious if anyone did narrative or story games for the jam, and how you tied in generosity! Would love to see y'alls and share ours :) It's a short game but close to our own personal experiences: https://itch.io/jam/tgcxcoreblazer/rate/3628897

Eager to play and rate your games!

Hey there! I just wanted to say I'm so glad to see a game touching upon South Asian heritage as a South Asian! I absolutely cannot wait to play it

Here is our game! It tackles the concept of "generosity burnout" and remembering to take care of yourself without giving too much. Even though we ran short of time to add in all the extra fluff to emphasise that I hope the message comes across nonetheless. I'd love to hear your thoughts :) https://ratprincelucius.itch.io/not-too-much

I did that, my game has a story and I embedded generosity in the story, its about a thimble girl who is searching for her mother and she can talk to some people and solve some puzzles to find the clues, but there are some good opportunities for her to do some generous actions, and she can also choose to not do them, because generosity shouldnt be done by force, you can check that if you like, here is the link:

Since my team's project had an unexpected twist with one of our core components not provided by a teammate. Its barebones to what it should be. Though some bit of the story is still there. Here you can see it https://darknight10982.itch.io/lysteria

I've tried your game the other day it was very nice short immersive experiences!, i got a lil bit distracted from the conversation on the part where the cat peeking from the table, i found it so adorable! XD. I wanted to share this short narrative game about how generosity's effect the world that once bring chaos to the world, feel free to try it! :3 https://renalagames.itch.io/for-when-im-gone

Our game tried to incorporate story as a key feature in its gameplay. You play as the Mouse, a hero coming home after his quest is concluded. You walk through his journey in retrospect and learn more about his endeavors as you go. We wanted to avoid our story from becoming self-sacrificing, which hopefully we conveyed in this short game. A lot of the story is going to be fully implemented in our polished version after the game jam's conclusion, but we're pretty proud of how much we did with this (...in one week... our mistake...haha)

My part in this specifically was story, level/game design, and music, where music plays a huge role in characterizing these critters (it changes based on who you help and who you don't help).

Our game has 3 endings based on the choices you make to help the NPCs or not. Each NPC has a little story to discover. If the fact that we also have some combat in the mix doesn't put you off, try our game! https://itch.io/jam/tgcxcoreblazer/rate/3626164

Our's has a strong narrative aspect but it's all implied! What story does it evoke personally for you?

Please check out our's, You play as the Demon King, long forgotten and newly awakened, wandering a changed world and helping those you once sought to destroy on a quiet journey back home.

Our game is a platformer narrative game where a lot of the gameplay revolves around talking to quirky characters. We tried to slowly reveal the story through dialogue, but there are a few tricky platforming parts in-between, so I hope you still enjoy: You're Not Welcome to Rennville by Distant Dimension

Hi! We created a medieval narrative game with a demon! It takes a slightly dark twist on the theme of generosity :D

P.S. - Bittersweet is brilliant!

Here’s ours! You play as a witch and her cat exploring a palace on the moon (lots of astral vibes). It’s got a bit of a narrative going, though much of it is still a mystery since we’ve only got a demo. Can’t wait to check out all the other games here <3

Heyo, cheers for making this thread! My team created a narrative game that delves into the world of space, and you meet a variety of characters along the way to cope and process a traumatic event the main protagonist has been through:

https://leharts.itch.io/off-course

Our theme of generosity stems from finding it in the most unlikely of places; from the connections you make, to what you see within yourself, Off Course is a reminder that generosity can prosper anywhere, even beyond our human scope. Hopefully you get around to playing it! :))

In Bounty Hunter, the chase for a mysterious gift reflects the idea that some gifts can lead to emptiness.

The game conveys the value of generosity subtly through fast gameplay and a surprising ending.

My game is here: https://leon-hd1.itch.io/bounty-hunter

Here's a game about a guy who had too many poppies in his garden and decided to give them away to everyone in an act of generosity. The game features various interesting interactions and a unique atmosphere: https://itch.io/jam/tgcxcoreblazer/rate/3603058

My team and I made a narrative game for the jam! We made the story have two paths so that you can choose who to be generous to. Each path negatively impacts the other, so you must be wise in who you help out. You can either help the village survive winter by hunting deer or help the cultists out in ending winter. There are 5 "months" to complete if you'd like to check it out: https://itch.io/jam/tgcxcoreblazer/rate/3629079
