I'm shocked this doesn't have more reviews! I adore the character design and their expressions during the dialogue as well as the music, they're absolutely adorable and create such a charming atmosphere~ The interactions are all wholesome and I like seeing this little found family come together and bond over warm soup.

My few issues are similar to what others have said. Sometimes items wouldn't drag into the pot. There often isn't a cue of what you're supposed to do (i.e. where to go to get more tomatoes and dragging the seeds to plant them). Jumping required specific precision in some spots which could be a little troublesome. Even when I already have an ingredient, the game will still ask me to go grab another. It was also odd to see the Little Mouse had vegetables in her home but still had to go out and farm more, I don't think that's the best visual choice.

However, all these are minor issues for me, but I think a bit improvement could go a long way to improving the gameplay experience. Overall, a super neat entry, kudos to your team!

This is a charming idea, but I wasn't really sure what exactly I was supposed to write for the poems that would get me points since there isn't any sort of indicator and the timer made it difficult to think. It's also hard to tell how this ties into the theme of generosity, nor is this really a realistic approach to tackling something like global warming. Small individual actions actually aren't effective in the grand scheme, especially when the core contributors to global warming are giant corporations. Large-scale change is the only thing that can make a difference. The penguin models are really cute though, I like how simple they are. I think with a bit more direction (maybe also a tutorial at the start) would help immensely, but still a cute concept. Nice work!

This is a cute game and the character models are super charming~ As someone else said, it would be nice if you could attack while moving, having to stop kind of breaks the flow during combat. There also doesn't appear to be any consequences for sharing your magic, which I think would be nice to see. I also couldn't tell if I had a health bar or not since there wasn't any indicator of it. Still a fun little game, nice work!

I had fun with this one. I love the concept of a character sacrificing their powers as they go along, fits in nicely with the theme. The cutscenes were also super well done, especially the ones with multiple panels. Additionally completements to the music, it does a great job capturing the atmosphere. There were definitely a few instances where there wasn't any English text however. Thankfully it didn't disturb the gameplay but I wanted to point it out.

Ironically, there's already a game on Steam under the same title with the same premise, but given the different visuals/settings, I assume it's probably a coincidence lolol.

Overall, great work!

I'm surprised this game doesn't have more reviews. I absolutely love the concept of characters splitting/merging together to solve puzzles, it's a super unique mechanic. I also really like how with each level, the player looses one of their halves by giving it to another character, it ties in well to the theme. The movements with the bird and riding on its back were a little janky, sometimes my characters would fall off and I'd have to go retrieve them, but it wasn't too much of issue. Overall, I hope you guys keep developing the game, this would be a fun one to come back in the future. Great work, kudos to your team!

I had a ton of fun playing this one! It did take me a little while to really figure out the controls and how to dodge the attacks, but once I got the hang of it, I was able to breeze through the first few levels. I only really got stuck during the later levels as I was struggling to trigger the dodge ability, it wasn't as responsive as I would have liked it to be. It was also a bit annoying having to constantly refresh the page to start over. However, I still think the concept of restoring the forest with magic while also fending off monsters is pretty neat and I could definitely see this being part of an RPG-type game if you decide to develop it further. Great work!

This is a fun concept. I really like gameplay where you have to go through a series of tasks to complete something and I think this game does that pretty effectively with the player having to prepare the soup. My only complaint is I wish you didn't have to constantly cut through the crowd to do the tasks, I wish they were all on the same side. Similar to others, I had a bit of difficulty picking up and putting down objects at times. But aside from that, I really enjoyed this entry, great work!

I think a concept like this has a lot of potential but unfortunately the gameplay is too simplistic imo. The way the player walks forward only to be teleported back as the camera repositions itself is a bit annoying. Being able to leave a mark is neat but there isn't really any way to interact with other player's marks, like maybe being able to leave them a message back. I wasn't sure if there was an end to the game but I wandered for a while up the mountain before stopping. I get the intent behind it, but it would have been nice to see a bit more done with this concept with a stronger tie to the theme. Still a neat little experience, nice work!

This is a unique entry, I dig the concept of tying rain into generosity. As some others have stated, I think having a tutorial at the start of the game would be nice, it took me a long while to really understand how to play the game. Similarly, I wasn't able to play for too long due to the spinning screen triggering my motion sickness. I think it can work, you'd just need to find a middle ground for it. Overall, nice work!

This is a really neat concept and I like how it incorporates the theme of generosity into the player's actions. The gameplay is simple but does a good job showing which decision raises or lowers your stats with the player's responsibility being to balance them. At a certain point it stopped showing me the outcome of my actions, not sure if that's a bug or intentional. Additionally, the request options would eventually start to get repetitive, so I wish there was a bit more variety there. Aside from that, I enjoyed this one. Kudos to your team!

An interesting take on the theme given it requires you to hunt animals to provide food for the people. I do wish it explored that theme further through the nature of survival and providing the player with more choices/creating a sense of urgency. Like instead of the skeletons, maybe have some of the deer fight back against the player or potentially introduce other animals that pose a threat to the player. It would also be nice to have a run button since I found the player movement a bit slow. I did encounter a few bugs with the deer corpses glitching into the ground and being unable to pick them up, but for what it was, I still enjoyed it, kudos to your team!

Admittedly I thought this would tie more into the story of The Giving Tree, but I still enjoyed it and loved how the concept was incorporated. It's a simple yet touching experience that ties well into the theme. I really like how the branches follow along the player's path, it's a good thematic visualization. Nice work!

The use of shaders is so creative! I absolutely love the idea of characters being simple silhouettes with only their unique features sticking out that distinguishes them from each other. My team did a similar thing in our entry so it was fun to see it here too! The gameplay itself is very simple yet endearing. It perfectly captures the theme of generosity and how the NPC townsfolk contribute to the soup. It would have been nice having a little more to do during the day aside from just making soup (maybe being able to interact with the villagers?), but it's fine as is. Also love me some games based on folk stories, so bonus points for that~ Overall, great work!

Thank you!! Hopefully you can come back and play the full thing later~

Thank you so much for playing! We too love games with cats lolol. There's definitely a lot to improve upon in all areas and some stuff we couldn't get to due to the time limitations, so the feedback is greatly appreciated for when we go back to polish our demo in the future.

My thoughts are similar to Dobrx’s. I really like the visual of the glowing ball, but it’s a little confusing what you’re supposed to do and where you’re supposed to go, I ended up just trailing along the path and collecting a few orbs before also getting stuck in the ravine. The music imo also doesn’t really reflect the environment and simple gameplay. It was still a neat little experience, nice work!

This is such a wholesome visual novel~ The artstyle is super distinct, reminds me a lot of Undertale, and I liked the story that was told. It does feel a bit rushed, I wish there was more time to interact with Deer Nana and more choices the player could make, but I don’t think it takes away from the impact and how it incorporate the theme. Fantastic work!

This was such a cute little game, I had fun playing through it! The artstyle is simple and charming, the designs of the characters are distinct and the gameplay features of using sound to call over the other character and holding hands is very reminiscent of TGC’s Sky and fits well with the theme. The ending part did catch me a bit off guard, but I was eventually able to clear it. I think this has a lot of potential if you decide to turn it into a full project, but even as is, it’s a solid experience. Great work!

Thanks for the feedback! We definitely hope to make the flying much smoother and efficient in subsequent patches. Glad you enjoyed it!

Thank you, we too love our virtual cats haha! We unfortunately ran out of time to properly balance the flying mechanic, but glad you were able to figure it out.

I’m shocked this doesn’t have more ratings, this is such a fun game! The banana people concept is silly, the art is well done, and the gameplay incorporates the banana aspect in a uniquely fun way. Echoing what the other comments said, this could be a full game/demo on Steam already with how polished it is. One of my favorite entries, great work!

Thanks for the feedback! We have received other comments about the flight mechanic so we intend to go back and rework it to be more balanced after the voting period ends. Aside from that, glad you liked it!

Thank you, we're glad you enjoyed it!

As someone who also worked on a game with a witch protagonist, this was so cute~ I love the artstyle, both for the cutscenes and during the gameplay — using the witch hat as the "C" in the title was genius. The gameplay itself was also pretty fun, I enjoy a good rhythm game and I like how it increased in difficulty with each level. The only thing that occasionally stumped me was forgetting which color corresponded to which number, but not enough to really hinder me. Great work!

Surprised there aren't any other comments, but I quite like this game! The visual aesthetic of the trees and flowers were definitely my favorite aspect, especially seeing the flowers regain their color. I wasn't able to play too long due to the lag on my laptop so I can't comment too much on the gameplay, but from what I was able to do, I found it to be pleasant experience. Nice work!

Aside from the fact that I'm a die-hard fan of cooking games so of course I love the cooking gameplay, I also really like how the game incorporates the whole balancing taking care of your mother as well as yourself. It's a small but impactful addition that makes me enjoy it a lot more than if it was just like any other cooking game, and it ties into the theme very well. Wonderful work, kudos to your team!

I'm kinda shocked this doesn't have more ratings. The game's really pretty, but I was a little confused how I was supposed to play. I would constantly lose health when I started the game and I couldn't figure out how to avoid it. It only stopped falling temporarily when I was inside the golden stars but it was hard to stay within that area. Even so, the concept of playing as a paper crane is super neat. Nice work!

This game is so sweet, I love it! It perfectly depicts a little story through the eyes of a child. The artstyle being reminiscent of a kid's drawing works incredibly well, the gameplay is simple yet endearing — I especially had fun drawing with the crayons on the walls. All the characters and interactions were cute, and I like that they all gift you something to decorate your room with. My only complaint is I wish there was more time to interact with others. It would have been nice to give the player more time while also including a skip button if the player just wants to skip over that section. Aside from that, this is one of my favorite entries, phenomenal work! Kudos to your team!

I like that there are different endings depending on the choices made by the player, played through a couple times to get them. The visuals and atmosphere are fun, and the gameplay is simple yet enjoyable, even if doing the math calculations is a tad tedious. I did end up playing the game straight through w/o over or undercharging anyone with little thought otherwise, so I wish there was a bit more incentive to deviate. Thinking of games like Papers Please which do this very effectively. But for a three-week jam, this was still a fun game. Great work!

I was hoping the game would have a little more to it, and it's not super clear what you're supposed to do with the buttons once you hit play. I think the artstyle's pretty cute though, and the concept of taking items and placing them in certain locations as a ways of reminiscing is a neat idea if expanded upon. Nice job!

Everyone else has already pointed out how cute the game is and they're absolutely right! I love cozy artstyle and atmosphere, and the music fits perfectly with this little whimsical cat adventure. For the gameplay, it was mostly fine, but admittedly I did have trouble with the minigames. The crossing one for instance treats two roads as one for the cat. The camera also got stuck at the park area and wouldn't turn all the way which made it troublesome to look around. I couldn't figure out where I was supposed to dig in the park as a result and had to restart. But aside from those hiccups, this is a very charming concept and I had fun, great work!

The concept for this is pretty fun, and the artstyle is super charming. I followed the instructions closely, but I don't think I understood how to play the game and how progress is gained (like one round its at 10 and the next it jumps to 600 and I have no idea why). Might be a skill issue, but I was still able to clear a few rounds so there's that. I still enjoyed trying to figure it out and it ties into the theme very well. Kudos to your team!

This was a fun game, but as others have pointed out, the grappling mechanic is a bit tricky to grasp. The maneuvering itself was enjoyable, but sometimes I would end up flinging myself across the map unintentionally. I was able to find all but two of the items, I think it might be nice to have a hint option for the item locations if you're struggling to find them. Still a great concept and the art of each of the characters is also very cute, kudos to your team!

The artstyle is so stinkin’ cute, I love the watercolor aesthetic for all the characters and drawings~

I did have some trouble with the gameplay, I’m not sure if I was playing correctly. From what I gathered, some of the items seem to be flavors and others are toppings (I could be wrong, that’s just how it seemed like to me), but there isn’t really a way to distinguish them in the menu bar so I’d get confused when I put the item that’s in the hint and then nothing happens. There isn’t any sort of cue that you’ve “completed” a cake, which I think would be nice to add.

I still had fun with the game and decorating the cakes, I’m always down for more cooking/baking games. Nice work!

Gonna follow the other commenters’ cue and gush about the visuals, but how could I not? The game has an incredibly distinct style, and the walking animation is really nicely done. I’m also vibing with the character interactions, I had fun reading them.  I wish there was a slight cue where you’re supposed to go, it took me some wandering before I realized the cursor changes in certain corners. The game also bugged out for me when I was talking to the skeletons in the third room, the dialogue box didn’t close so I had to restart. Overall, fantastic work, kudos to you both!

Here are my stars!

Oh boy, where do I begin? How does this game not have more ratings?

The visuals are stunning! I absolutely loved the use of color between the foreground and background, it helps the player character stand out while still fitting in with the environment. The animations are also top notch, I like the followthrough once the player stops moving.

The plant growing mechanic is really unique — although I wish there a slight hint that holding shift would make the plant taller — and I like the animation that accompanies it too. Similarly, the platforming is nicely balanced, I didn’t particularly struggle at any point.

I only really have a few critiques. I’m not the most fond of the camera movement when the player stops moving— the way it keeps moving before jerking to a halt and then slowly inching back to the center. I understand the appeal and others might like it, it just wasn’t for me. I also think the bag becomes too crowded the more stars you have. I’m not sure what the alternative would be, I just wish it didn’t looks so cluttered. And lastly, while I dig the vignette effect in the underground area, it does become almost impossible to see at some point with the majority of the screen being engulfed in darkness, so I wish there was some way to use the stars as a light source.

Aside from that, phenomenal game, one of my favorites in the jam! Kudos to your team!

This game is so charming~ Our game also has a character swap mechanic (albeit not as incorporated as yours since we ran out of time), so that was fun to see and tied in nicely to the theme! The artstyle is really pleasing, I especially like the lotus girl’s design. Although it’s a bit jarring between the two characters — one being colored and having no idle animation whereas the other had no color and had an idle animation playing, not sure if that’s intentional for the theme or due to the time constraints.

I did also find a bug in the second area where the lotus girl got stuck if she went to the very edge of the tree before the old man could lower the branch. Once he lowered the branch, the girl was stuck in the air and couldn’t move at all, so I had to restart the game.

Aside from that, this a neat experience, kudos to your team!

Once I got a hang of the battle mechanics, I had a lot of fun with this game! The artstyle and music are top notch and go perfectly with the atmosphere. I do wish there was some sort of tutorial at the start explaining how to play. Also echoing what Brontosaurus said, I think it would be nice to include more grey scenarios rather than each choice just being black and white. Some ways in, the game did bug out for me after interacting with the shadow figure — the dialogue disappeared and I couldn’t click to progress or get out of the scene. But aside from that, I really enjoyed it, great work!
